Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

One vehicle after another is crossing the bridge.

Li Yu listened to the gunfire, his brow furrowed.

He knew that such loud noises are likely to attract more zombies from the water.

These waterborne zombies are even more troublesome than the ones at night.

”Something’s not right!” Li Yu thought to himself.

So he took out the walkie-talkie to contact Ju Tianrui: ”Keep vigilant all around, there are zombies coming up on the North Shore, and it’s very likely that zombies might also come ashore on the South Shore. Keep a close watch.”

Almost immediately after he spoke, Li Tie pointed at the drone screen and shouted to Li Yu behind him: ”Brother, there are zombies coming from the water on the South Shore too.”

Upon hearing this, Li Yu leaned over and saw some zombies emerging from the water about two hundred meters away, heading towards their direction.

”Damn.” What you fear will come.

Li Yu simply got out of the car and then instructed Dapao and the others to have the convoy that had crossed the bridge, loaded with supplies, wait ahead for them.

After all, there was limited space here, and if they kept blocking it, the upcoming vehicles could easily cause a traffic jam.

If it got blocked, they wouldn’t be able to move.

Dapao wanted to stay and help, but seeing the resolute expression on Li Yu’s face, he didn’t dare speak and instead shouted to the truck loaded with supplies behind him: ”Go, you go first.”

He and Li Gang, Yang Tianlong, and a few others got out of the car, dispersing these vehicles crossing the bridge to move forward.

In just a few minutes, there were already a dozen or twenty vehicles parked on the South Shore.

Seeing the vehicles behind them continue to come, they were directing the vehicles to move forward, thus avoiding traffic congestion.

Dapao got into a vehicle and then led the convoy forward.

He had to ensure these vehicles couldn’t go too far, as the team included Ling Feng, who was one of the cooperative personnel.

As cooperative personnel, they couldn’t be fully trusted.

At this moment, it’s best not to leave them behind to help, as too many people would only worsen the situation.

The top priority now is to leave here and make room for the cars behind them to pass.

Dapao rolled down the car window and watched more vehicles approaching from behind.

Feeling a bit tense inside, not knowing how Li Yu and the others were doing behind them.

But he knew his task was to lead these supply-laden vehicles away from here first.

The hand gripping the gun was tightly clenched.

The driver of this vehicle was a veteran who used to follow Old Qin, and seeing Dapao like this, he reassured him while driving, ”Dapao, don’t worry, Director Li and the others will surely handle it. Our leaving first is correct; it allows them to retreat better.”

Dapao glanced at him, knowing him as well.

Nodding, he said: ”I know, let’s go. We’ll wait for them at a spot three kilometers ahead.”

”Okay.” The veteran floored the accelerator and sped forward.

The twenty or so vehicles behind closely followed.

....

Meanwhile, in Xiao Jun’s car, upon receiving Li Yu’s orders, he was about to leave with Zhong Chuchu and the others, following Dapao.

”Wait a moment.” Qingyang saw zombies rushing over by the riverside from the car window.

He also saw Li Yu, Yang Tianlong, Ju Tianrui, and others getting out of their cars to fend off the zombies.

He immediately opened the car door and got out.

”Hey, what are you doing?” Zhong Chuchu called out anxiously.

”I’m going to help.” Qingyang the Taoist smiled back, then ran toward the South Shore.

From the perspective of the people inside the car, Qingyang was running towards the zombies emerging from the water.

Among the retreating convoy, he was the only one moving against the flow.

Zhong Chuchu seeing this scene, wanted to get out of the car to help fend off the zombies too.

Xiao Jun frowned and stopped her: ”Don’t be reckless, hurry up and leave, the cars behind are all waiting.”

To him, obeying orders was of utmost importance.

Sometimes, not following orders to help could actually be more of a hindrance.

The most important thing now is to leave the South Shore road and make room for the cars behind them.

Or should everyone stay to help, constantly fighting zombies emerging from the river?

Killing these zombies doesn’t yield equipment or gain supplies.

What’s the point?

Moreover, zombies cannot be completely eradicated.

Zhong Chuchu had no choice but to quickly close the door, and Xiao Jun hurriedly drove the car to follow Dapao and the others.

....

On the other side.

Li Yu and the others watched the zombies emerging from the river, hesitating for a moment. If they fired now, it would attract even more zombies, and the pressure on them would be immense.

They not only had to direct the cars to leave but also resist the zombies.

However, opening fire would alleviate some pressure on Luo’s side.

Weighing the options for a while, Li Yu finally decided to shoot and kill the zombies that had just come ashore.

To reduce the pressure on Luo’s side.

But given the depth of the water here, the distance from the water’s edge to Li Yu’s road was only two hundred meters, half of what it was on Luo’s side.

This meant that the zombies emerged from the water and reached Li Yu’s location in just two hundred meters, providing a short buffer.

Bam!

Seeing many zombies had reached the mudflat, Li Yu fired at one of them.

”Protect the convoy’s retreat,” Li Yu shouted to Ju Tianrui and the others.

Ju Tianrui wielded a light machine gun and fired into the zombie crowd.

Since Li Yu got out of the car, the Jackals and Ant, who had been following him closely, fired at the zombies a hundred meters away while constantly keeping an eye on Li Yu’s situation to ensure he stayed within five meters of their range.

Under the suppression of firepower, the zombies fell one after another.
