The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 645: Chapter 645: Going Back on Their Word

Qiao Gaoshan was very fortunate to let Lin Tian treat the two patients who were blind and deaf first.

There was nothing wrong with using Qi Gong to touch their heads, but it was the final ice water stimulus that was the hardest for Qiao Gaoshan to accept.

Previously, after a splash, the little blind one caught a cold in just a few seconds. The little deaf one was even worse, hugging his arms tightly across his chest and shivering so much that he couldn’t even speak. Eventually, a few nurses had to throw him into a hot water pool, which made him feel much better.

Having learned from past experiences, Qiao Gaoshan had already prepared hot water, waiting for Qiao Jiang to wake up.

However, things didn’t seem to go smoothly; Lin Tian’s hand had been on Qiao Jiang’s head for a long time and hadn’t come down. This hadn’t happened with the blind and deaf patients before.

Qiao Gaoshan had a bad feeling, suspecting Lin Tian was up to something. But he didn’t dare to ask, fearing it might interrupt the treatment, which would be disastrous.

Finally, after five minutes of torment, Lin Tian slowly stood up, looking exhausted as if he’d fought a great battle.

”Why did it take so long this time?!” Qiao Gaoshan questioned with a frown.

”You have the nerve to ask me?” Lin Tian glared at him, cursing, ”Isn’t it because of your damn medicine, you old turtle, that almost stopped my Qi Gong from working? Do you know what that could have led to? Your son might never wake up again!”

”What?” Qiao Gaoshan was shocked, asking in a trembling voice, ”How is he now...”

”He’s healed, it took a lot out of me. Now just splash him with a basin of ice water.” Lin Tian waved his hand, speaking tiredly.

His fatigue wasn’t faked; he was indeed quite exhausted.

The reason he spent so much time on Qiao Jiang wasn’t due to insufficient Qi Gong; he didn’t even have the herbs, so how could that have happened?

The real reason was that Lin Tian left some Spiritual Qi in Qiao Jiang. If anything happened to Liou Qingcheng, Qiao Jiang’s future days would be filled with torment, more painful than being a vegetative state.

He was an enemy, not a friend, so Lin Tian naturally left a backup plan.

Qiao Gaoshan picked up the ice water himself, hesitated for two seconds, and then splashed it out.

”Oh crap... Hiss, ah...”

Qiao Jiang jumped straight up from the bed, shivering all over from the cold, his upper teeth chattering against his lower teeth, his face turning white from the cold.

Lin Tian watched with a cold smile. In fact, there was no need for ice water; a slap would have done the trick but he was more than willing to torment them a little more.

”Little Jiang, come on, there’s hot water in the bathroom, go wash up quickly,” Qiao Gaoshan urged.

How could Qiao Jiang bear it any longer? Stumbling, he rushed into the bathroom, and soon a deep soulful moan echoed from within.

Lin Tian, nonchalantly, seated himself on the sofa, looked up at Qiao Gaoshan, and said, ”Now, can you release Qingcheng? I’ve woken up your son, and if you dare back out, I will make your entire family become vegetative!”

Feeling the murderous intent in Lin Tian’s eyes, even someone like Qiao Gaoshan, who had operated in society for decades, couldn’t help but feel uneasy.

Qiao Gaoshan was taken aback and said, ”I’m a businessman, and for a businessman, promises are vital. Rest assured, as long as Qiao Jiang checks out fine after a confirmation, your girlfriend will naturally be safe.”

”What did you say?”

Lin Tian’s eyes widened, and then he got up from the sofa with lightning speed, rushing to Qiao Gaoshan’s face, emitting murderous aura as if he could take his life at any moment. ”I want you to release her now!”

Qiao Gaoshan suddenly felt inexplicably guilty, swallowed hard, and stammered, ”Alright, alright... I’ll have them release her right away.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Tian’s sharp gaze softened, and he snorted heavily.

Qiao Gaoshan took out his phone, dialed a number, and directly said, ”Okay, you can release the person now, just bring her back to Kanyue City Medical University.”

On the other end, a man chuckled and said, ”Sorry, Mr. Qiao, but we don’t want to release this person just yet.”

”What? Not releasing? Didn’t we agree on this? Just release the person, and I’ll send the final payment to your account immediately,” Qiao Gaoshan said.

”No need, you can keep that money for your retirement. We’re not releasing this person.”

”Why?”

”Heh, no reason, just willful. Mr. Qiao, after so many years in the underworld, can’t you see you’ve been played?” the other party replied with a laugh.

In an instant, Qiao Gaoshan’s face darkened. Having been deceived and with the other party being so arrogant, how could he not be angry?

At this moment, Qiao Gaoshan understood that the other party also wanted Liou Qingcheng, and his approach was actually an opportunity for them. The most frustrating part was that he had already paid them a million upfront.

This was a perfect example of being sold and still counting money for others, wasn’t it?

Qiao Gaoshan yelled into the phone, ”Have you gone mad? Release the person now, and it’s over. If you don’t, if it escalates, it will benefit neither of us!”

”That’s not for Mr. Qiao to worry about, I have something else, so let’s end this here.”

Then, the call was hung up.

Lin Tian, standing to the side, listened clearly to the conversation.

As expected, what he feared the most happened! The other party wasn’t motivated by money in kidnapping Liou Qingcheng, but had an ulterior motive.

Qiao Gaoshan clutched his phone, gripping so hard that his knuckles creaked as if he was about to crush it.

Suddenly, a figure flashed in front of Qiao Gaoshan. He looked up, and it was Lin Tian.

”I heard your entire conversation. Now! Give me an explanation! Otherwise, I guarantee that you and your son will spend the rest of your days in this hospital!”

”This... this can’t be blamed on me, who would’ve thought they’d go back on their word,” Qiao Gaoshan stammered, recalling that Lin Tian had been hit by the ’Death God’s Alarm Bell’ and was powerless, so there was nothing to fear.

Thinking of this, Qiao Gaoshan regained his former chairman’s demeanor, heavy with bravado, and snorted, ”You’ve seen it yourself, it’s not that I won’t release her, but my partners backtracked, and it has nothing to do with me. Blame the right person, go vent your anger on them.”

Lin Tian laughed, how did this guy come up with such a bastard logic? If it weren’t for him, would all this have happened?

”Do you think you can detach yourself from this?”

In a fit of rage, Lin Tian suddenly slapped Qiao Gaoshan across the face, making a crisp ’slap’ sound, leaving a bright red handprint.

Qiao Gaoshan’s face immediately twitched, the pain contorting his entire visage.

He clutched his face, cursing, ”Lin Tian! You’ve been drugged, I advise you not to be too arrogant! Otherwise, apart from me, no one can save you.”
