The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 612: Chapter 612: Wager Agreement

After listening to his speech, the Western doctors fell silent.

They are rational and won’t blindly think that traditional medicine is terrible just because of this speech.

Everything in the world has its existence value.

For example, traditional medicine, even though it’s in a tough spot now. But who can guarantee it won’t rise again one day?

The practitioners of traditional medicine felt a surge of anger when they heard it. This guy was slapping them in the face!

How could they not be angry?

Some even almost couldn’t resist rushing up to give him a beating—if not for the many leaders and reporters present.

Finally, Liu Mang’s speech ended, otherwise, he might have faced a disaster soon.

We must know, Zhao Xuefeng’s speech earlier had ignited the passion in many hearts.

Next was the questioning session, suddenly, someone stood up from the audience.

Everyone turned to look.

This doctor’s summit seems very lively.

”Lin Tian, what are you doing?” Zhao Qingtang said softly, she already had a very strong premonition.

This guy is probably about to cause trouble again.

Lin Tian shook his head to Zhao Qingtang, signaling that it was okay.

Then he turned his gaze to the podium and asked, ”I’m not a member of the chairmanship, but I want to ask a question. Dean Liu Mang, is that all you know about traditional medicine? Your medical skills over the years, have they gone into a dog’s stomach?”

Is that considered a profanity?

In everyone’s ear, this is profanity.

All the cameras turned to Lin Tian again.

Who doesn’t love to watch a fierce quarrel?

Liu Mang was on the stage, almost jumping with rage.

How many years has it been?

How many years has no one spoken to him like this?

Even if you curse, can’t you do it indirectly?

What do you mean by being so direct?

Zhao Xuefeng looked at his most outstanding student, suddenly feeling a surge of excitement.

How many times had he wanted to shout these words, but swallowed them because of face and reputation?

”You brat! Do you think you have the right to criticize how much I understand traditional medicine? Besides, I’m a Western doctor, what need do I have to understand those antiques?”

”And does traditional medicine have the right for you to criticize it?” Lin Tian paused and asked, ”I suppose you’re quite knowledgeable about traditional medicine, aren’t you?”

Liu Mang was stunned, then nodded, ”Yes, I am quite knowledgeable, why?”

In fact, he understood nothing at all, but with so many peers around, saying otherwise might cause disdain.

”Ha, you say you understand?” Lin Tian chuckled lightly. The smile in Liu Mang’s eyes was full of cunning.

He suddenly felt trapped in a dilemma.

”Do you understand the four diagnostic methods of traditional medicine, ’looking, listening, questioning, and feeling’? If you did, you probably wouldn’t have said what you did before.”

”Why has traditional medicine stood firm in the Celestial Dragon Continent for so many years? Because it is fundamental to the people. In the past, there were no blood pressure meters, X-rays, or ultrasound. What did ancient people rely on for diagnosis and treatment? Was it dissection? Dissecting a living person, looking at the cause of illness, then reassembling limbs and organs?”

Everyone instinctively opened their mouths slightly. Only today did they realize that words could be spoken this way.

”You... you’re talking nonsense!” Liu Mang snorted heavily, waving his hand and said, ”I’m not denying traditional medicine, it’s just that traditional medicine can’t keep up with Western medicine now, you can’t deny that, can you?”

At this point, Liu Mang regained some confidence.

Traditional medicine compared to Western medicine?

Heh, not worth mentioning.

”Who do you think you are? Saying that Chinese medicine is inferior to Western medicine, aren’t you afraid of biting your tongue?”

With Spiritual Qi moving, the lordly aura spread out again, Lin Tian said lightly, ”I’m sure that Western medicine is indeed inferior to traditional medicine!”

Although his words were light, everyone present heard them clearly, even feeling somewhat hesitant to look directly at this young man. Seeing him almost made one feel ashamed.

”And who do you think you are, to say such a thing?”

Liu Mang didn’t dare to look directly at Lin Tian, but he showed no weakness verbally.

”Does Dean Liu Mang dare to make a bet?”

”Bet on what?”

Liu Mang looked at Lin Tian, everyone’s eyes were on him, equally curious about the question.

”Very simple, isn’t there a free clinic tomorrow and the day after? We can compete to see who treats more patients, how about it?” Lin Tian asked.

Liu Mang thought for a moment but still shook his head, ”This has no substantive effect, so what if more patients are treated? It’s only two days, you can casually check hundreds of pulse counts as one, how can I compete?”

”Then what do you suggest?” Lin Tian looked at him with interest.

”We compare which side has more cured patients, how about that?” Liu Mang laughed sinisterly.

This proposal was somewhat shameless. Where’s the biggest gap between Western and traditional medicine? It’s in the speed of treatment.

Western medicine can cure small illnesses with injections and IVs almost immediately. And traditional medicine? At least it requires prescribing medicine, then brewing it, and most importantly—the effect is slow! Although it has no side effects, it’s just slow.

Unfair, extremely unfair!

How can one compete? Before the competition, Lin Tian already lost, right?

Everyone originally thought Lin Tian would disagree or at least haggle a bit, but to everyone’s surprise, this guy actually agreed without hesitation, ”No problem, just compete on cures? Sure.”

All of a sudden, everyone’s expressions turned strange.

Is this guy an idiot? Or is he just asking to lose?

The strangest expressions were from Zhao Xuefeng and his disciples. The slow effect of traditional medicine was something they couldn’t refute, yet Lin Tian wants to compete with this?

If not for knowing Lin Tian’s style, Zhao Xuefeng might have come out to stop him.

”Since it’s a bet, shouldn’t there be stakes? Otherwise, it would be too meaningless,” Lin Tian said with a smile.

”Interesting, really interesting. But why do I feel you can’t afford the bet?”

”The stakes haven’t even been decided, how can you say I can’t afford it?”

”Fine, then let’s set one. If I lose, I won’t participate in future doctors’ summits, how about that? Is this bet big enough?”

Lin Tian secretly nodded.

This prize is indeed big enough. The doctors’ summit is a very important source of status and money for Liu Mang.

If he doesn’t participate, perhaps traditional medicine wouldn’t be suppressed so badly?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t satisfy my appetite.

Lin Tian waved his hand, saying, ”Not enough. If we’re going to bet, let’s bet big; whoever loses should quit the medical community, how about it?”

Silence.

Pin-drop silence.

This kid must be crazy, right?

He’s just a student of Zhao Xuefeng, and dares to compare himself with Liu Mang, a master in the medical field.

This prize also seems very unfair.

Liu Mang, sharing the same thoughts as others, nodded and said, ”Fine, but your quitting the medical field isn’t enough. I also want your teacher to quit the medical field too. Mind you, I’m referring to the medical field, including him not serving as a medical educator in the future. Anyway, he’s already at retirement age, going home to enjoy retirement, what’s wrong with that?”
