The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 608: Chapter 608: The True Hero Among Chivalrous Men

Watching Elder Ginseng respond fluently, Lin Tian listened closely with his eyes closed.

He also had knowledge of traditional wellness in his mind, all accumulated by the ancients which was priceless, needless to say.

However, compared to the elder, he actually... fell short by a lot!

This was the first time such a situation occurred, proving there were always others with greater knowledge beyond oneself.

To elevate wellness to such a level is truly impressive!

After Elder Ginseng stepped down, the third person to take the stage was ’Mister’ Zhao Xuefeng.

As a master of ancient medicine, Zhao Xuefeng had a commanding presence. He walked up barehanded, stood on the stage, greeted the audience, with thoughts already prepared in his mind.

The speech titled ”What Needs to Change About the Current State of Ancient Medicine.”

This speech was revised by Lin Tian, Zhao Xuefeng, and Zhao Qingtang over three hours a few days ago.

”Many people may not believe in ancient medicine now or may question it. Let me tell you! If it weren’t for ancient medicine, you might never have been born!”

There was no lengthy debate, only impassioned fervor.

What needs to change about ancient medicine?

First is the attitude.

As heirs of ancient medicine, we should be proud. We should be arrogant, believing Western medicine should be beneath us!

Secondly, we need to address herbal medicine, calling for stronger measures against fake medicine.

This includes not only conventional fake medicine but also those unqualified herbs.

Now, many herbs are artificially cultivated and used before reaching their medicinal age. Moreover, the medicinal efficacy of cultivated herbs falls far short of those that grow naturally.

This is all driven by profit, but it also harms ancient medicine and the valuable treasures left by our ancestors!

Also, there are fake ancient physicians, those con-artists who know little about ancient medicine or none at all, pretending to be practitioners to deceive people and take their money.

There are fewer of such people now. Why fewer? Because these fake practitioners make no one believe in the genuine ones. Would anyone trust a fake?

The entire speech was seamless, and Zhao Xuefeng gestured passionately while speaking.

Seeing his flushed face, everyone present felt their hearts surge.

This was Zhao Xuefeng’s aura; he had taught so many classes and nurtured so many excellent students over the years.

How could his speaking level be anything but exceptional?

Who could ’risk their head, spill their blood’ for ancient medicine?

Who could ’leave a loyal heart to inspire posterity’ for it?

That unquestionably would be Zhao Xuefeng!

He is the renowned ’Mister’ in the medical world, the widely respected Mr. Zhao. Yet, he’s just a small elderly man who has dedicated his life to ancient medicine!

He calls on everyone to protect ancient medicine, to restore its past glory and prosperity!

He wants to prevent ancient medicine from being devoured any further by Western medicine!

He... is a true champion of righteousness!

As Zhao Xuefeng finished his speech, the entire room erupted in enthusiastic applause.

Whether officials, journalists, practitioners of ancient or Western medicine, they all applauded with flushed faces.

The applause grew louder and continued unrelenting.

Zhao Xuefeng had tears in his eyes, brimming with emotion.

He walked to the center of the stage, his trembling body suddenly bowed at ninety degrees!

Who can bear such a bow?

No one!

”On behalf of ancient medicine... thank you all! Please, do everything in your power to protect ancient medicine!”

Another two ninety-degree bows!

The applause grew even more fervent.

A proud and tenacious little elderly man, three consecutive bows, causing tears to well up in the eyes of Lin Tian, Liou Qingcheng, Zhao Qingtang, and many ancient medicine scholars.

Because of Zhao Xuefeng, they suddenly felt a united determination against adversaries.

They want to be the wall safeguarding ancient medicine! An indestructible wall that tanks can’t break through!

Zhang Zhixing crossed his fingers over his chest, his gaze fixed intently on Zhao Xuefeng.

Such a speech was downright motivating. So valuable, so positive, it should have been the first speech presented.

”Old Zhao, oh Old Zhao, why are you still so stubborn?”

Suddenly, Zhang Zhixing stood up.

Whoosh~

All eyes turned to this deputy chairperson.

”In my personal capacity and based on my integrity, I assure Comrade Zhao Xuefeng. We’ll strengthen the crackdown on ’fake ancient medicine’ and ’fake herbs’! This is not an empty promise; I will prove it with my actions!”

Zhang Zhixing wasn’t a soldier, but as he shouted these words, his voice was loud enough for everyone in the venue to hear clearly.

His voice echoed in the hall.

This wasn’t a performance.

Which minister would pledge their reputation like this? To the public, this seems crazy.

But Zhang Zhixing made this promise.

His guarantee would lead to a genuine increase in enforcement intensity in the future.

Don’t think that there are fewer fake ancient practitioners now; in reality, there are still many.

Enough to drag ancient medicine down!

But Zhang Zhixing’s promise could significantly reduce the number of fake practitioners, restoring clarity and integrity to ancient medicine!

The audience responded with a thunderous applause once more due to Zhang Zhixing’s words.

This is what a good official should be!

Next, it was time for Sun Chuanrong and others to ask questions.

Suddenly, a reporter raised her hand.

She jumped in place, raising her hand high, drawing immediate attention.

Seeing her eager expression, Zhao Xuefeng assumed she had an urgent question. He then addressed Sun Chuanrong at the podium, ”Could we let that reporter ask a question first?”

Sun Chuanrong wouldn’t think of going against Zhao Xuefeng’s request and naturally nodded in agreement.

The reporter was delighted; she had a porcelain doll-like face, her smile was very appealing.

”Mr. Zhao, may I ask, you’re known as the foremost person in ancient medicine; why haven’t you been practicing for the last five years?”

This question altered the expression of many people: Sun Chuanrong, Zhang Zhixing, Zhao Qingtang, and many masters of ancient medicine.

Anyone who knew Zhao Xuefeng’s past would not look favorably upon hearing this question.

Zhao Xuefeng himself wore a grim expression. He looked at the reporter’s porcelain doll-like face and hadn’t expected such a question.

He could perform diagnosis using observation, listening, inquiry, and pulse-taking, but he couldn’t see through the human heart.

Zhao Xuefeng clenched his fists tightly, realizing that this female reporter was most likely bribed by Liu Mang.

What a vicious move this was.

At this moment, Sun Chuanrong tapped on the microphone before him and said softly, ”Mr. Zhao, this question is of a personal nature and doesn’t fall within the realm of medicine. You may choose not to answer.”

This was clearly providing Zhao Xuefeng a way out.

If Zhao Xuefeng revealed the truth, his speech today might be rendered meaningless.

Everyone’s eyes were on Zhao Xuefeng, their hearts pounding as if about to leap from their throats.

”It’s okay, there’s nothing that can’t be said. Since someone wants to know, I’ll tell everyone.”

Standing on the stage, Lin Tian suddenly noticed that the teacher’s figure appeared much thinner.

He was just a small elderly man in his sixties.
