The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 465: Chapter 465: Mom Is Right

Yan Xinrou opened the lunchbox, and Lin Tian sniffed it but didn’t detect any aroma. However, seeing the fish soup inside, his stomach began to growl.

Yan Xinrou chuckled and said, ”Hungry, aren’t you? This is carp soup, made for your dad. He can’t eat many things because of his illness. Carp soup is very suitable: it’s rich in protein without too much fat. Today, you’ll have to make do with this; I’ll prepare something better for you tomorrow.”

Lin Tian resisted his hunger and said, ”It’s not right for me to eat this. What will Uncle eat then?”

”He’s too chubby; skipping a meal won’t matter,” Yan Xinrou said confidently.

”Uh...” Lin Tian glanced at the lunchbox Liou Qingcheng had bought, saying, ”Qingcheng has already bought food; I’ll eat that.”

”Are you rejecting my fish soup?” Yan Xinrou asked sternly yet hesitantly.

Lin Tian quickly shook his head, like a rattle drum.

Yan Xinrou let out a hum and said, ”Just drink it since I told you to! I’m honestly envious of your dad for marrying such a good wife like me, who makes carp soup for him when he’s sick. Lin Tian, you’re quite pitiful; look at your wife. Other than inheriting some good looks and a slim figure from her mom, she doesn’t know how to take care of you. What did she buy? It’s neither nutritious nor healthy; she can’t compare to me at all.”

Liou Qingcheng was about to break down; she set the lunchbox aside and said, ”Yan Xinrou! I am your daughter! How can you badmouth me like this?”

”You do know you’re my daughter, right? Besides tormenting me with your dad, you didn’t even tell me about Lin Tian’s injury this time.”

After speaking, Yan Xinrou turned her gaze to Lin Tian, saying, ”There are two buns here, eat them with the carp soup. If it’s not enough, I’ll bring you a snack tonight.”

”It’s better to let Uncle—uh, Dad have it,” Lin Tian said cautiously, feeling as if talking to Yan Xinrou was akin to tiptoeing through a minefield, one wrong move and he’d suffer.

Liou Qingcheng let out a hum, ”Go ahead and eat; my mom won’t let my dad starve. She’s just outwardly harsh but soft-hearted. Just be careful not to spit it out afterwards.”

”How dare you speak like that?” Yan Xinrou glanced at Liou Qingcheng and said, ”Come here and feed your husband some soup.”

Seeing Liou Qingcheng caught between embarrassment and anger, Lin Tian quickly said, ”Mom, I can eat it myself...”

”You’re so sick, yet you’re still considerate of your wife. I’m really a bit envious of my foolish daughter,” Yan Xinrou said, then added to Liou Qingcheng, ”Alright, you eat it yourself; I don’t want my daughter to be tired.”

Liou Qingcheng rolled her eyes in frustration.

She now just wanted to shout to the heavens: Jade Emperor, Bodhisattva Guanyin, Tathagata Buddha, why can’t I have a normal mom?!

Lin Tian took the carp soup from Yan Xinrou’s hand and, under her watchful eye, took a sip.

”How is it?” Yan Xinrou asked.

”Tasty.”

Actually, it wasn’t tasty at all; aside from smelling a bit fragrant, it was far too bland and a little bitter.

Fortunately, Lin Tian was a mid-level Martial Artist; with a bit of Spiritual Qi, the soup turned delicious and he devoured it.

Seeing Lin Tian eat so heartily, Yan Xinrou was smiling widely, while Liou Qingcheng admired Lin Tian’s resilience, able to pretend it was delicious.

”Lin Tian, ah, from now on Auntie will often make you food, just tell me whatever you want to eat!” Yan Xinrou vowed confidently.

”Isn’t that too much trouble?” Lin Tian asked.

Yan Xinrou snorted lightly, ”You wouldn’t be thinking Mom’s cooking is bad, would you?”

”How’s that possible, you see I just ate so heartily earlier. I’m just worried about tiring you,” Lin Tian replied.

”I’m your mom, don’t stand on ceremony with me,” Yan Xinrou said, her face beaming with happiness.

Liou Qingcheng suddenly felt a bit sorry for Lin Tian, wanting to tell him: You don’t know my mom’s true colors; this is just the beginning, there’s much more to come!

Two steamed buns with a bowl of carp soup, Lin Tian felt quite satisfied. Yan Xinrou also felt fulfilled, as it had been a long time since anyone had enjoyed her cooking so much. Liou Qingcheng and her dad often said that Yan Xinrou was only normal at frying eggs and cooking instant noodles.

After tidying up the thermal box, Yan Xinrou sat on the sofa and tapped Liou Qingcheng’s head, saying, ”If you don’t tell me about such important matters promptly, don’t bother coming home. If I hadn’t run into you just now, I’d still be left in the dark. I even thought you came for a pregnancy check-up.”

After speaking, Yan Xinrou stared at Liou Qingcheng’s belly seriously and asked, ”Are you pregnant already?”

Liou Qingcheng stamped her foot in embarrassment, shouting, ”No!”

”You’re not lying to me, are you?” Yan Xinrou reached to touch Liou Qingcheng’s belly.

Liou Qingcheng slumped on the sofa, already speechless.

Yan Xinrou’s gaze shifted to Lin Tian, which made his heart skip a beat with a foreboding feeling.

”Lin Tian, ah,” Yan Xinrou looked at him with a grin.

Lin Tian’s body shivered, ”Mom, what’s wrong?”

Yan Xinrou earnestly instructed, ”You need to work hard; I’m really anxious to cradle a grandchild. None of my friends’ kids have even given birth yet, if you and Qingcheng have one, how delighted I’d be? So, you have to work hard!”

Lin Tian could only nod, nod, nod. He was more than willing to have a child with Liou Qingcheng. At the same time, he found a way to deal with Yan Xinrou: absolute compliance avoids ending up like Liou Qingcheng in misery.

Look at Liou Qingcheng now, as if she’s been through a tough battle, mentally and physically exhausted.

Yan Xinrou was very pleased with Lin Tian’s behavior; she nodded, and then her expression grew serious, ”Lin Tian, where are your injuries this time?”

”Just broken bones here and there, really nothing serious.”

”Your precious isn’t damaged, right? You look like you’ve got quite a severe injury,” Yan Xinrou asked.

Lin Tian was stupefied for a second, dumbfounded, ”What precious?”

”Oh dear, it’s a man’s, you know, private parts...” Yan Xinrou felt a bit embarrassed saying this.

Liou Qingcheng felt utterly mortified.

Lin Tian was also taken aback, nearly choking, coughed twice, and quickly shook his head, ”No, no, it’s fine, very lively.”

”That’s good,” Yan Xinrou finally felt relieved.

Taking the thermal box, Yan Xinrou stood up, and before leaving, she said to Lin Tian, ”Mom will make more delicious food for you tomorrow, and very nourishing.”

After speaking, Yan Xinrou left under Liou Qingcheng’s glare of ’hatred.’

Suddenly, Lin Tian with a serious look said, ”Qingcheng, I think Mom’s totally right.”

Lin Tian seemed so serious that it made Liou Qingcheng inexplicably nervous, ”What is right?”

”I think we should have a child, no, no, with my endurance, ten would be possible. We must work hard!”

”Drop dead!”
