The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 458: Chapter 458: Diagnosis

”Ruyan, let’s go.”

Bai Shishi stood up from the sofa, turning her back to Lin Tian, speaking in a sour tone.

”Why leave? Lin Tian’s girlfriend is about to arrive, don’t you want to meet her?” Mei Ruyan asked.

Bai Shishi shook her head, ”He will have someone to take care of him; we should leave first to avoid any awkwardness. Besides, there are many things at home waiting for me to handle.”

What she was referring to was naturally the current situation of the Bai Family. Worried about Lin Tian’s injuries, she hadn’t contacted her father until now, and it was time to go.

”Alright.”

Mei Ruyan stood up from the sofa and glanced at Lin Tian, ”So, we’re leaving?”

”Hmm...”

Aside from nodding, Lin Tian didn’t know what else to say. Should he ask them to stay? When Liou Qingcheng arrives, things might get chaotic with three women together, and who knows what might happen? Surely, he’d be the one feeling the worst.

”Little heartless one.”

After dropping this sentence, the two women walked out together, and the entire ward suddenly became quiet.

Lin Tian sighed deeply in relief and, taking advantage of the emptiness, secretly circulated his Spiritual Qi to heal his injuries.

At the same time, his hands weren’t idle either, as he began to unwrap the bandages around him. If Liou Qingcheng saw him looking like a mummy, wouldn’t she be scared to death?

These bandages were easy to take off, yet not easy either. They were wrapped in circles, so finding the bandage’s end would allow them to be undone, but any large movement Lin Tian made would cause unbearable pain at the wound.

After struggling for half the day, Lin Tian didn’t remove much, only causing himself to be drenched in sweat.

He overestimated his speed; just as he got halfway, the door suddenly slammed open with a loud ’bang’.

Liou Qingcheng hurried in, her eyes brimming with tears.

It was clear that she wasn’t in a good state, much like Bai Shishi earlier, with messy hair, and a makeup-free face that seemed much more worn.

Apparently, Lin Tian’s two-day disappearance had worried her sick.

Seeing Lin Tian half-bound, half-unwrapped in bandages, especially at a spot right at the crotch, Liou Qingcheng froze.

”What... what are you doing?” Liou Qingcheng murmured.

She felt on the brink of collapse, wrapped in so many bandages, how severe was the injury?

Lin Tian helplessly stopped his movements and said casually, ”I’m unwrapping the bandages, don’t be scared by the way I look now. The doctors exaggerate just to charge more in medical fees. I’m actually not that injured, just uncomfortable being wrapped, so I thought to take them off.”

”You’re insane!” Liou Qingcheng cursed. Her eyes reddened, tears welling up.

”Don’t cry, really, I’ll be discharged soon,” Lin Tian hastily said.

Liou Qingcheng walked to the bedside, looking at his two legs in a cast and his chest bound with something; the injuries appeared shocking, ”What exactly happened to you?”

Liou Qingcheng’s anger faded, her voice gentle, as if speaking too loud might cause Lin Tian to relapse.

At this moment, Sisi, Meng Nan, and Li also arrived, looking at their panting behaviors, they must have run a bit.

Just in time, Lin Tian had a chance to change the topic, as he really didn’t want to tell Liou Qingcheng about his injuries; it was too embarrassing.

”Meng Nan, you’re too weak, panting after just a few steps?” Lin Tian laughed.

Meng Nan, leaning against the door frame, said between breaths, ”Blame your wife for running too fast. Damn... second brother, are you turning into a mummy? What happened to you?”

Lin Tian’s face turned dark, great, the topic circled back.

”I’m not too sure myself, you’d have to ask the doctor.”

Lin Tian knew his own body’s condition too well but couldn’t say more.

Soon, someone else entered the ward, footsteps urgent but steady.

The visitor was Zhao Xuefeng, whose speed was not slower than the younger people, and his breathing was quite stable.

Everyone was stunned seeing Zhao Xuefeng, why was Mr. Zhao here as well?

”What’s the matter with a teacher visiting his student?”

Zhao Xuefeng approached before anyone could ask, placing a fruit basket on the bedside table.

Luckily, this VIP ward was spacious enough; even with this many people, it didn’t feel crowded.

”Mr. Zhao, thank you.” Liou Qingcheng nodded to Zhao Xuefeng, showing her role as the hostess.

Zhao Xuefeng nodded back, greeting her casually, then looked at Lin Tian on the bed, his brows furrowing instantly, ”Lin Tian, this injury isn’t from a car accident, right?”

Lin Tian was taken aback, how could he tell?

Before Lin Tian could answer, Zhao Xuefeng had sat on the edge of the bed and held Lin Tian’s hand to take his pulse.

Pulsing was a hallmark of ancient medicine, known from childhood, yet seldom seen outside of TV dramas.

Everyone watched Zhao Xuefeng’s action in silence, not daring to breathe for fear of disrupting his diagnosis.

After about ten seconds, Zhao Xuefeng released Lin Tian’s hand, his brows relaxing slightly, ”Strange.”

These two words made Liou Qingcheng’s heart clench, prompting her to ask urgently, ”Teacher, how’s Lin Tian?”

”Very strange. Despite the cold sweat and pale lips earlier suggesting Qi and blood imbalance, his pulse shows no such issues; instead, his internal organs seem injured. These contradictory phenomena are abnormal, very abnormal.”

Lin Tian listened quietly, Zhao Xuefeng’s diagnosis was spot on, showing his genuine skills.

Lin Tian’s pulse was not optimistic, but Zhao Xuefeng couldn’t diagnose it due to the influence of Spiritual Qi.

No matter Zhao Xuefeng’s skill, diagnosing Spiritual Qi was impossible.

Just then, Zhao Xuefeng’s relaxed brow furrowed again, and he strode towards the door.

”Mr. Zhao, where are you going?” Liou Qingcheng asked urgently; Zhao Xuefeng’s words had deepened her anxiety, ”Is there something wrong with Lin Tian? Please clarify.”

”I’m going to consult his attending physician; I’m not sure myself yet.” With that, Zhao Xuefeng left.

Liou Qingcheng also wanted to inquire further but was stopped by Lin Tian; the more she knew, the harder it would be to explain.

Meng Nan, resting his hands on the bed frame, was straightforward and couldn’t hide anything, whispering, ”Could it be that Mr. Zhao’s medical skills are lacking, which is why he couldn’t diagnose?”

Meng Nan’s words instantly drew hostile glares from everyone.

”What are you talking about? Do you know how respected Mr. Zhao is in the ancient medicine community? What qualifies you to question his skills? If Mr. Zhao is unskilled, how many can be considered experts in ancient medicine?”

Sisi glared angrily at Meng Nan, appearing very upset.

”Uh...” Meng Nan didn’t expect such a strong reaction from Sisi and quickly apologized, ”Sisi, I’m sorry, I’ll apologize to Mr. Zhao later, alright?”

Hearing this, Sisi’s expression softened slightly.
