The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 440: Chapter 440: Counterattack

After hanging up the phone, Mei Ruyan looked at Lin Tian and asked, ”What should we do next?”

The seriousness of the situation had far exceeded Mei Ruyan’s expectations. If it was just a war between Du Dahai and the Xianglong Tea House, she could still find a way to maneuver. But now it had escalated to involve two massive families.

Mei Ruyan couldn’t make up her mind and could only rely on Lin Tian as the backbone.

Lin Tian leaned his head back on the chair, closed his eyes, and said, ”We can only wait. I hope my friend can find some useful clues. Also, the Bai Family needs to find solid evidence for a counterattack.”

Only if the Bai Family found solid evidence for a counterattack could the Wang Family be wary; otherwise, even if they knew the Wang Family was behind it, they would still be helpless like meat on the chopping board, at the mercy of others.

As the two of them fell into silence, Mei Ruyan’s phone chimed again, but it wasn’t a call.

Mei Ruyan picked it up, glanced at it, and said, ”The Bai Family sent over information on Wang Sicong and the Wang Family.”

Lin Tian was pleasantly surprised, sat up straight, and said, ”Quick, take a look.”

”It’s hard to see on the phone; let’s use the computer instead.”

With that, Mei Ruyan went to the table, grabbed the laptop, and opened the files.

Lin Tian leaned over next to Mei Ruyan, staring at the screen. But because they were so close, he inadvertently caught sight of Mei Ruyan’s full chest and the enticing chasm.

Mei Ruyan naturally felt Lin Tian’s gaze and her tone turned cold again: ”Can you be serious for once? After we rescue Miss Bai, I’ll let you look as much as you want.”

Look as much as you want?

Lin Tian was stunned. Normally, he would have made a few slick comments. But things were urgent now, and he didn’t have the mind for it. He could only wait until Bai Shishi was rescued for Mei Ruyan to fulfill her promise.

Both of them put a stop to their banter and focused on the file sent by the Bai Family.

The second page of the file contained Wang Sicong’s information. There was nothing remarkable about it; aside from basic details, it mostly included his affairs in the entertainment industry, which were not very interesting.

As they continued to scroll, they found the Wang Family’s information. Just as Bai Tianlong had said, the Wang Family’s main businesses were real estate, herbal medicine, and export trade.

Similar to the Bai Family, the industries the Wang Family engaged in were few, but each was done particularly well, not only a hit nationwide but also selling overseas. This made it seem that the Wang Family’s influence was even broader than the Bai Family’s.

The question was, why would the Wang Family make a move against the Bai Family? The two families hadn’t had any conflicts.

As they continued scrolling, Lin Tian discovered something interesting.

It turned out Du Dahai had close dealings with the Wang Family, and many bars, KTVs, and hotels under Du Dahai’s name were actually Wang Family properties. Du Dahai only owned a small portion of the shares, though he was responsible for managing the places.

Suddenly, Lin Tian’s phone rang again, this time it was an unfamiliar number.

”Hello, who is this?”

”Tian, it’s me, one of Ye Feng’s buddies, the bald one. My name is Pang Yu,” a gruff voice said through the phone.

Lin Tian quickly realized and asked, ”Oh, it’s you. Have you made up your mind?”

Pang Yu chuckled and said, ”Tian, why do you say it like that? We wouldn’t miss the chance to be with you. In the future, we’ll be counting on you.”

Lin Tian smiled, knowing he was just saying nice things. If he truly thought so, he would have agreed yesterday.

Lin Tian was well aware of Pang Yu’s thoughts; most likely, he planned to work with Lin Tian for a while and leave if it wasn’t worth it.

Pang Yu was a seasoned thief with decades of experience, and such people are known for their craftiness. Getting him to genuinely work for you was not easy.

”Hmm, joining my crew is possible, but it’s not that easy,” Lin Tian said. He suddenly changed his mind, finding that they’d better not cater too much to someone like Pang Yu from the start, or he would be hard to control later.

Pang Yu was taken aback and said, ”Tian, that wasn’t what you said yesterday. If you look down on us for not being clean, we’ll just go.”

”You misunderstand me. I just have something that needs your help; consider it your initiation task, how about it?” Lin Tian asked.

”Just say the word, Tian.”

”I want you to help find out if there’s anything shady going on between Du Dahai and the Wang Family. I’ll have someone cooperate with you, how about it?”

The relationship between the Wang Family and Du Dahai in the current document was very vague, without any valuable information. Lin Tian thought there was room for further digging. At this critical moment, no clue could be overlooked.

Pang Yu, unlike those from the Xianglong Tea House or Black Gold Security Company, had more extensive action experience, and his team was full of talents.

Don’t underestimate this thieving crew, as Ye Feng had said before his death, their team included top-notch hackers and highly intelligent individuals to plan operations.

”Alright, my brothers and I will give it a try,” Pang Yu agreed readily.

After the call ended, Lin Tian said to Mei Ruyan, ”Mei, find a few guys familiar with Du Dahai to meet my friends.”

Mei Ruyan had no objections and immediately dialed a number.

Besides the Xianglong Tea House, Wu Yong had also been preparing to take action against Du Dahai, naturally assessing Du Dahai’s power. Of course, sending them to cooperate with Pang Yu this time was for more in-depth investigation, greatly increasing the danger level.

If what Ye Feng said was true, and these people were so skilled, Lin Tian believed they would surely find some useful information.

Just when Lin Tian wanted to call Wu Yong, Wu Yong actually called first.

”Yongzi, what’s up?” Lin Tian quickly asked.

”Tian, the batch of equipment we seized earlier seems to have been discovered by Du Dahai.”

Lin Tian frowned, ”How did he find out?”

”I don’t know either. But now Du Dahai’s men are acting like madmen, taking back all the bars and clubs we conquered before. He also sent people to turn our company upside down. Luckily, I listened to you and moved the equipment away; otherwise, that bastard would’ve gotten it back.”

”Were any of you hurt?”

”Don’t worry. Those lowlifes Du Dahai sent couldn’t really compete with the special forces we hired. For now, we’ll let them flaunt, but later we’ll use a cactus to hurt Du Dahai’s pride and see how he flaunts.”

”Cut the nonsense, or I’ll mess up your pride first.”

As soon as Lin Tian finished speaking, he felt an odd gaze and immediately turned to explain to Mei Ruyan: ”Mei, it’s not what you think, Wu Yong and I are innocent.”

Upon hearing this, a rare smile appeared on Mei Ruyan’s cold face: ”What do you have to explain? I don’t discriminate. I like women, you like men, it’s perfectly normal.”
