The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 430: Chapter 430: You’re Not Only Ugly but Also Stupid

This young thief hid his face well. He wasn’t wearing a hat, nor did he deliberately cover his face, fully exposing himself in front of the camera.

He wore brand-name clothes and sported a watch worth over three hundred thousand dollars, smiling with an air of wealth and courtesy.

That’s why the female clerk felt good about him; otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken out so many rings and laid them in front of him.

But Lin Tian saw through his flaw; he was wearing a silicone mask, and the face he showed wasn’t his real one.

There were eight diamond rings in his left pants pocket and two in his right.

Now, the ones in the left pocket were successfully stolen, while those in the right pocket were already prepared counterfeits for swapping.

The man acted so quickly, even faster than those three foreigners who cheated at the Xianglong Tea House back then.

This was a premeditated and prepared operation.

With such speedy hands, it was difficult to notice even if you kept watching him, hence his brazen attitude. Even if discovered, it wouldn’t be until days later, and the police checking the surveillance would only see a fake face, making it impossible to catch the real culprit.

Soon enough, he swapped the remaining two rings, all in the blink of an eye.

After seizing all he could, he pretended to choose a ring, had the clerk wrap it up, paid in cash, and swiftly left the scene.

Such a professional thief reminded Lin Tian of Ye Feng and the new task Chen Moxiang had given him a few days ago.

”Qingcheng, I suddenly have an urgent matter and need to leave first. If I can make it back, I’ll come pick you up,” Lin Tian said anxiously.

Liou Qingcheng, who was eagerly picking out a watch, felt a bit dismayed upon hearing this but nodded sensibly: ”Go ahead, I can go back on my own later.”

”Alright.” Lin Tian nodded, put down the things he was holding, and quickly followed out.

By this time, the thief had already left, and there was no knowing where he had gone.

Lin Tian narrowed his eyes and activated his x-ray vision, quickly discovering that the guy had taken the nearest elevator to the lower floor.

Lin Tian hurried to follow, not too closely as he wanted to see where this thief was headed.

This meticulously planned action suggested he likely had accomplices.

Soon, the thief exited the mall and hailed a taxi. Lin Tian also quickly got into a car, instructing the driver to follow.

Being in the city center with many vehicles, the thief didn’t notice anyone following him; moreover, he was feeling cocky, confident no one could possibly find him out now.

The taxi left the city center, and the thief got off in a residential area with few surveillance cameras. Lin Tian also got out about fifty meters away.

The thief walked around the residential buildings several times, choosing a surveillance blind spot to enter one, with Lin Tian observing from a distance using his x-ray vision.

The thief, noticing nothing amiss, walked into a room, changed clothes, tore off the mask on his face, revealing his true appearance.

He was a man in his thirties, with a scar on his forehead, exuding a rogue aura with an unfriendly look.

After changing, he took the dozen diamond rings out from the surveillance blind spot and headed directly to a nearby chess room.

Lin Tian quietly followed him inside and found the room filled with elderly people playing cards. The thief, however, headed to the back room.

The room was smoky, with four people sitting around a square table playing mahjong. They only glanced up at the thief when he entered.

”This operation was a bit slow,” said a bald man with a cigarette in his mouth, seriously looking at his cards.

”Hehe, boss, I haven’t gone out in a while. That clerk had such big waves and was so pretty, couldn’t help but look a few more times.”

”Your lecherous heart never changes. Once you bring the goods back, you can find a more beautiful one, can’t you? Get a grip,” said the skinny, bare-chested man with an eagle tattoo on his right arm.

Lin Tian stood by the door, eavesdropping on their conversation without being noticed, continuing to wait patiently.

After a few meaningless words, the tattooed man grinned and said, ”Hey, it’s just more comfortable for us brothers to operate independently. Feng should have done this long ago; isn’t there money enough for the taking? Why bother with that ’thieves have an honorable way’ talk? If you’re a thief, just be one, no need to be so righteous.”

”Don’t say that. I actually enjoyed working with Feng. Though we acted less, wasn’t every job a big one? Far more thrilling than these petty thefts,” the thief responded.

The bald man sighed, ”Sigh, just don’t know where Feng went. Heard from the old man that a very pretty woman was looking for him, and Feng hasn’t returned since.”

”Could it be he found her so pretty that he ran off with her, haha...”

”Mind your language; Feng’s father is still in the village. Would his loyal son just abandon his father? I think Feng’s in trouble,” the thief remarked.

”We’ve been hitting it a bit hard lately and seems the cops are onto us, let’s move somewhere else in a few days? How about Qiule City?” added the bald man.

”Not waiting for Feng to return?”

The bald man replied, ”It’s been a month already. If we keep waiting, the cops might show up at our door. Better to scram first.”

”Boss, should we do one more job?” the tattooed man asked.

Just as the bald man was about to reply, the iron door was suddenly knocked on.

The faces of the five people in the room instantly turned tense, they exchanged looks, and then threw away their smoking cigarettes, ”Who’s there?”

Of course, it was Lin Tian who knocked on the door. He knocked again, replying, ”Someone here to talk you into doing right.”

The room fell silent for a moment, before the door opened, and the five people stared at Lin Tian menacingly, as if ready to attack at any moment.

Lin Tian wrinkled his nose at the thick smell of smoke, pulled a chair over boldly, and sat down, smiling, ”As you can see, I’m alone, no need to be so tense, have a seat.”

The four people glanced at the bald man, and only after he nodded did all five sit back down.

”Pass me a cigarette,” Lin Tian said.

The bald man eyed him with irritation but nonetheless handed him a cigarette and a lighter.

As Lin Tian lit the cigarette and began enjoying it, the bald man grew impatient, ”Who the hell are you?”

”The one to guide you back to the right path,” Lin Tian replied calmly.

The five people laughed, with the thief saying, ”Boss, I can’t stand this punk acting cocky; a good beating will bring him to his senses.”

Lin Tian looked at him dismissively, ”Aside from stealing, fighting is all you’re good for? You’re not just ugly, but also stupid.”
