Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 690: 690 was born

The two nurses watched his actions and were momentarily stunned.

Wei Kaiyun gently picked up his wife and laid her on the bed.

”Thank you both. Here’s some celebratory candy, please share it with the doctors and nurses in the delivery room today.”

The two smiled as they accepted it and left, as there was still another pregnant woman in the delivery room. That one was not as easy to handle as this one.

Wei Kaiyun tidied up for his wife and then placed the baby beside her.

Jiang Xinyu opened her eyes, turned her head to look at the baby, and smiled.

”Cool the water, and feed the baby some in a bit.”

Now Wei Kaiyun followed each order with an action, immediately going to pour water.

After coming back, he sat by his wife’s side. ”Xinyu, it’s a son.”

”A son is good too.”

”Hmm, also good.” But not as good as a daughter. However, he only dared to say this in his heart.

”Wife, have a nap. I’ll feed the baby when the water is ready.”

”You must not leave the baby when I’m asleep.”

”Yes, rest assured, I definitely won’t leave.”

Only then did Jiang Xinyu close her eyes to rest; she was indeed tired.

Wei Kaiyun sat by, looking at his wife and then at his son, unable to wipe the smile off his face.

He tested the water temperature, thought it was fine, then picked up his son, watching his small mouth sip the water, feeling a soft spot in his heart. He had another son now.

Wei Kaiyun just kept watching his wife and son lying on the bed, his heart full of joy.

Jiang Xinyu woke up after just an hour. She had already recovered a lot, after all, she was still young.

”Wife, are you hungry?”

Jiang Xinyu shook her head, really having no appetite now, ”Not hungry, pour me a glass of water.”

Wei Kaiyun helped his wife with the water.

”Go and get a basin of hot water, I want to clean up and feed the baby.”

”We brought formula.”

”It’s time to nurse the baby; the formula is just a backup. I can feel they’re full.”

Upon hearing his wife’s words, Wei Kaiyun immediately went out with the basin to get water. Following her instructions, he placed a hot towel in the basin.

He helped his wife sit up and handed her the hot towel, watching as she wiped herself over.

It’s just plain water now, but it’s the best for the baby, providing the first milk to boost the baby’s immunity.

This kid is strong too, latching on and not letting go.

The three of them were very warm together.

But another woman in labor was crying loudly; she had given birth to another daughter. She began crying right after the child was born.

When the family outside the door heard it was another daughter, the old woman stormed off, cursing under her breath. The man helplessly took the baby, ”Mom, wait, you hold the baby, I have to wait for Lanzi.”

”Not doing it. Had a daughter and still want me to serve? Dream on!” She said and left without looking back.

The man outside the delivery room could only hold the baby and wait. He looked down at the child in his arms, feeling unhappy. They already had two daughters, and they were hoping for a change this time.

Now without a son, others would gossip.

But how come it’s another daughter this time? Mom was genuinely angry.

The old woman left cursing, but grew more unwilling as she walked. This useless woman couldn’t even bear a son, delaying her son and trying to cut off her son’s lineage?

They already had two money-draining daughters, now another one? How could she still have the face to stay in the hospital? Doesn’t it cost money?

So she returned to the hospital room, pushed the door open, and saw the family who had a son before theirs.

How come they had a son, and theirs was another money-draining daughter?

Filled with anger, she moved loudly, causing Jiang Xinyu to furrow her brows at her son and gently pat him.

Wei Kaiyun turned to glance at the old woman, knowing it was futile to say anything to someone so without manners. But sharing a room with such a person was out of the question.

”Wife, I’ll go find a doctor to change rooms; we need a three-bed room.”

Jiang Xinyu shook her head, ”No need.”

”But she’s so lack of manners, so noisy, I’m afraid it will disturb your rest.”

”It’s fine, it’s not a big deal, we’ll go home in three days, no need to move around.”

The couple didn’t avoid the old woman, so she heard, planning to cause a fuss but saw their furnishings, knew they were wealthy, and thought she might not be able to mess with them.

So she pouted and decided her family wouldn’t leave the hospital either, just to annoy them. So she sat on the bed.

If that couple knew the old lady stayed just to spite them, they would definitely thank Wei Kaiyun and his wife.

”Wife, I ordered egg custard, I’ll go get it for you in a bit.”

”Hmm.”

”Pig’s trotters soup will also be delivered soon.” This was made by people under Old Yang.

Wei Kaiyun had sent over four pig’s trotters and two hens, all for making soup for his wife.

Jiang Xinyu didn’t like pig’s trotters soup, but for her son, she had to endure.

The baby moved, Wei Kaiyun promptly got up to help, knowing it was either poop or pee.

He had also taken care of Feifei, although it had been years, he hadn’t forgotten, Jiang Xinyu watched his skilled actions.

”This kid, really can poop.”

The old woman next to them felt it pierced her heart hearing this, so she snorted.

Wei Kaiyun took the basin out to wash diapers, leaving only Jiang Xinyu and the old woman in the room.

At this moment, the door opened, and the other postpartum woman was pushed in.

”Mom.”

”Hmph! Useless thing.” The old woman rolled her eyes at her son and glared fiercely at her daughter-in-law lying on the bed. She didn’t even take the baby her son handed over.

The man had no choice but to place the baby on another bed, then lifted his wife onto the hospital bed.

The nurses then pushed the bed away. Looking at this situation, they knew not to expect any celebratory candy.

Jiang Xinyu noticed her son moving, knew he was hungry. Small babies are simple-minded like this; poop and they’re hungry.

She still thought it would be better to wait for Wei Kaiyun to come back. Sharing a hospital room with others was inconvenient; having a man around made nursing uncomfortable.

Wei Kaiyun came in with the basin, ”Hang the sheet here, the baby is hungry.”

Wei Kaiyun immediately followed his wife’s instructions, found a large sheet, and hung it. Only then did Jiang Xinyu start nursing, but she turned away.

”So pretentious.” The old woman couldn’t stand seeing others well-off.

Wei Kaiyun ignored her. He stood by, waiting for his wife to finish nursing before saying anything.

The small kid was sucking so vigorously, with little nostrils twitching. It was especially cute to watch.

Jiang Xinyu didn’t mind whether she gave birth to a son or daughter, but for them three always referring to a daughter as ’sister,’ so she treated them like daughters.
