Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 689: 689 was born

Jiang Xinyu looked at Wei Kaiyun and laughed, ”Don’t be like this, I’m not even nervous, and you’re making me anxious just by looking at you.”

”I’m not nervous, really, I’m not. Xinyu, don’t be afraid. Let’s go in soon.”

”Going in to see the doctor is also to let me move more now. It’s okay. You just accompany me for a little walk, I know what to do.”

Wei Kaiyun stretched out his hand beside her, just like a mother hen protecting her chicks.

He tried several times to hold his wife’s hand but didn’t know where to put it, just like his wife was a fragile crystal, afraid to touch her.

Jiang Xinyu looked at him like this and really didn’t know whether to laugh.

Another ten minutes passed, and Wei Kaiyun saw his wife’s forehead was sweating.

”Xinyu, how are you?” He couldn’t hold back anymore. He initially planned not to ask, but now he felt his heart was in his throat.

”It’s okay.” Jiang Xinyu also felt particularly painful now, but the amniotic fluid hadn’t broken yet. Now that they’re at the hospital, there’s no need to worry. She thought it should be best to wait until the water breaks to go in.

So they walked around for another half an hour, and Jiang Xinyu felt her pants wet — the water broke.

”Wei Kaiyun, support me to go in.”

”Okay, or should I carry you?” Wei Kaiyun looked down at his wife’s wet pants and got frightened.

”Xinyu!”

”It’s okay, the water broke, let’s go, I can walk by myself.”

Wei Kaiyun was extremely anxious, but seeing his wife’s calm demeanor, he was afraid that his anxiety would scare her, so he held back desperately.

”Doctor, doctor, my wife is about to deliver.”

He watched his wife walk in by herself, and the door shut, leaving him outside.

The last time Feifei was born, he wasn’t this scared; this time, he was extremely restless. He kept pacing outside the delivery room.

The passing doctors and nurses kept looking at him. This person seemed much too anxious.

At this time, another pregnant woman came by, but the doctor came out to take a look and said, ”Not yet, support the pregnant woman to continue walking outside.”

”Doctor, doctor, how is my wife?” Wei Kaiyun rushed over eagerly and asked anxiously.

”She’s doing well, about to give birth, wait patiently.” For a man to care so much, it’s a blessing for women.

Actually, the happiest time for a woman is during pregnancy.

Even though the doctor said his wife was fine, how could he be at ease without seeing it with his own eyes?

An elderly lady beside him chided her daughter-in-law, ”What’s the hurry? We’ve said to walk more, this is the third child, and yet it’s still the same, can’t hold it?”

The man next to her quickly tried to flatter the elderly lady, ”Mom, sit down and rest.”

”You let your wife walk more; if this is a daughter again, I won’t take care of it for a day. Already two daughters before, of no use,

I told you then, she isn’t suitable, but you insisted on marrying her.”

The man quickly tried to please his mom again.

That pregnant woman didn’t say a word, sweat covered her brow as she still moved slowly down the corridor.

Wei Kaiyun had no mind to pay attention to them, but he still heard their words, and in his heart, he thought, he just loves daughters.

In the delivery room, Jiang Xinyu, sweating profusely, was listening to the doctor’s instructions.

She thought, I’ve already had three children; what’s there to be afraid of? She constantly cheered herself up.

”Take a deep breath, we can see the baby’s head, one more push, and it’ll be out.”

Jiang Xinyu followed the doctor’s commands, and when the child slipped out of her body, she felt a slight relief.

She turned her head and looked at the child in the nurse’s hands, hearing his loud crying. A smile finally appeared on her face.

”Congratulations, a son weighing six pounds two ounces.”

Jiang Xinyu was in pain all over, had no strength left, and just managed a slight smile upon hearing the nurse’s congratulations.

Wei Kaiyun pressed against the door, faintly hearing the child’s cries. His wife was the only one delivering in the room. Could it be that their daughter was born?

Now he was even more anxious, kept checking the time, why hasn’t she come out yet? Why not?

Just as Wei Kaiyun’s patience ran out, the door opened from the inside.

”Family of Jiang Xinyu?”

”Here, here, I’m her husband.”

”Congratulations, a son weighing six pounds two ounces, the child is doing very well.”

”Son?”

The nurse paused, seeing a look of disdain on Wei Kaiyun’s face, ”A son isn’t good? Hurry and hold him, the mother will be out soon.”

Wei Kaiyun took the bundle from the nurse, looked at the reddened face, thick hair, and eyes-closed son.

A moment ago, he did feel a bit disappointed; they had anticipated a daughter. Shi Jing and Feifei wanted a sister. How did it turn out to be a brother?

Since it was just the two of them here, he had to wait for his wife, and wasn’t at ease leaving the child alone in the room, so he could only hold him.

The neighboring new mother came over, leaning to look at the baby in Wei Kaiyun’s arms.

She had given birth to two daughters before, her mother-in-law was already very dismissive of her, but determining the baby’s gender wasn’t in her power. Looking at someone else’s son, she felt envious and touched her own belly, hoping this one would be a son.

The elderly lady also came over, ”Comrade, can you let my daughter-in-law hold your son for a bit? Let us have some luck too.”

”No.” Wei Kaiyun, now very anxious, held the baby tighter and turned his body to block their view.

”What’s so great about it?” The old woman muttered as she sulkily returned to her seat.

Wei Kaiyun didn’t even glance at them, focused solely on the delivery room door. Why hasn’t his wife come out yet?

The man over there shouted loudly, ”Doctor, my wife’s water broke.”

The delivery room door opened, and a nurse came out to support the pregnant woman walking in.

”Nurse, why hasn’t my wife come out yet?”

”Soon, she’s being cleaned up; the placenta has already passed.”

Wei Kaiyun finally breathed a sigh of relief, but without seeing his wife, he couldn’t completely relax.

Five minutes later, the door opened again, and he heard several painful cries, making Wei Kaiyun feel even more for his wife.

Whether it was giving birth to Feifei or this child, he never heard his wife cry out loud; just how painful was it? His wife was enduring in silence. Thinking of this, Wei Kaiyun’s eyes reddened.

”Xinyu, Xinyu!”

Jiang Xinyu opened her eyes and glanced at Wei Kaiyun, seeing his red eyes and anxious look, she smiled at him.

The two nurses wheeled Jiang Xinyu to the ward, with Wei Kaiyun following by the side. He didn’t know what he should do.

”Comrade, you just need to lift your wife onto the bed.”

Wei Kaiyun immediately put down the child, quickly crouched to pull out the sheet his wife prepared and laid it out.
