Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 652: 652 Heart-to-heart Talk

At this moment, the children finished class and ran in. Jing Chu quickly put down the book and held Feifei’s hand.

”Sister Jing Chu, did you come to my house to play with me?”

”Yes, do you welcome me?”

”Of course, Sister Jing Chu is so pretty.”

Lv Jingchu laughed at the little girl’s matter-of-fact demeanor.

”Our Feifei is even prettier.”

The three children greeted Lv Beiguang and Zhao Xiaoli. They all called Zhao Xiaoli aunt and big sister, making Zhao Xiaoli feel old.

”Mom, we’re out of class, can we go find Dad Uncle Yang to play?”

”Go ahead, your Brother Guodong and Brother Xiao Qiang are also there; you can look for them in the private field.”

”Aunt Jiang, Feifei and I will go too.”

Jiang Xinyu smiled and nodded, watching several children leave cheerfully.

”Xinyu, the woman and her family from your village at the textile factory have returned to the countryside.”

Jiang Xinyu immediately thought Lv Beiguang was talking about Kong Mengjie because he knew Wang Ailing.

”Moved back? It’s actually not bad; as long as one is willing to work in the countryside, life is not a problem. Now, living in the city, if one doesn’t have a job, it’s really difficult.

But can the village take them in?”

”They went to your village.”

Jiang Xinyu nodded; that’s okay, at least Kong Zhongyou is there. As long as someone accepts them, it’s fine.

”By the way, have you heard about Kong Demin?”

”He’s being kept in the city, execution in October.”

”Nothing happened after I left, right?”

”No. Are you asking about Kong Demin?”

”Yes, how’s his mother-in-law?”

”She committed suicide; she couldn’t bear the public humiliation.”

Jiang Xinyu felt a pang of sadness; she had met Meng Xiu Fen before, a woman who seemed knowledgeable. Unexpectedly, it came to this.

”Xinyu, I heard some gossip that she committed suicide because she always dreamed of her eldest daughter.”

Jiang Xinyu understood; she lacked virtue, and actually mingled with her son-in-law shortly after her daughter’s death. Meng Xiu Fen felt guilty and lived in constant fear, naturally leading her to overthink.

”Kong Demin really ruined the Gan family. Now, there’s no one left alive in the Gan family.”

”There’s no way around it; who’s to blame if you misjudge people? Also, all their assets are confiscated.”

”They earned illicit wealth. Confiscation is only right.”

”Xinyu, I once considered buying their house, but Hao Shichao advised me against it, saying it was unlucky. Now it’s still unsold.”

”Lv Beiguang, why do you want to buy a house?”

”If I find one suitable, I’ll buy it; Guodong will need it when he starts a family. It’s quite normal, isn’t it?”

”How much money do you have?”

Lv Beiguang thought Jiang Xinyu wanted to borrow money. ”I still have fifteen hundred; if you need it, I can get it out for you.” Although there’s a significant fee, if Jiang Xinyu needs it, he definitely won’t hesitate.

Jiang Xinyu smiled and shook her head, ”I have money, no need.”

Lv Beiguang, I advise you not to buy a house. Save the money for Guodong and Jingchu’s schooling in the future.”

Especially since even if you buy, you can’t hold on to it. That natural disaster razed everything, what’s the use of buying a house? If you had more money, I’d urge you to buy in the Capital, but with just this amount, it’s really unnecessary.

Lv Beiguang nodded, ”Xinyu, if you need it, call me. I’ll wire it to you.”

”Okay, if I need it, I’ll let you know. By the way, how’s Qian Jun?”

”Still the same; many people want to introduce him to someone, but he hasn’t agreed, saying he’ll wait for at least a year. Isn’t it almost a year now?”

”Qian Jun really missed a good time, just got married when such a thing happened, what a shame.”

”No one expected this to happen.

By the way, it seems the new director at the textile factory won’t stay for long; I heard he has personal issues.”

”He seems alright, doesn’t he?”

”Not sure, just heard Liu Yuwei mention it at our last gathering.”

Jiang Xinyu knows Lv Beiguang’s character; for him to know this much gossip is quite rare. If it were She Xiaoyun, she’d be aware of everything.

”Lv Beiguang, do you believe me?”

”I believe you. Absolutely.”

”Then you encourage Guodong and Jingchu to study hard; there’s definitely an opportunity.”

”Really?”

”Really, society is developing, needing lots of talents; I’ve already told them. You should also urge them a bit. Plus, I think there’s hope for you too.”

”Me? I returned all my high school knowledge to the teachers long ago. I just work well, earn money for them, but it’s tiring for you.”

”That’s not a problem; besides, I think Jingchu and Guodong don’t need to rush into starting a family.”

”Haha, don’t worry, I won’t pressure them. Let them decide for themselves.”

”Hmm, that’s good. Just be their strong support.”

”Hmm.”

”You really aren’t planning to start a family? Find a partner; living alone is exhausting, and time feels too slow.”

”Living alone is quite good; why bother adapting to someone else?”

”What if you grow old? Do you want to follow the two kids around?”

Lv Beiguang smiled and shook his head, ”No way, when the time comes, I’ll return to my hometown and live in the countryside.”

Jiang Xinyu saw his resolve and didn’t persuade further. This is his private matter; even as friends, some things should only be hinted at.

”Xinyu, do you think I should come over to take care of the two kids?”

”Why do you have this thought? Feeling too lonely?”

”Not really, just want to be with the kids.”

”Isn’t that loneliness? Quickly start a family; you need to be their support. What can you do here? Farm? What can you offer them that way?”

”I just miss the kids.”

”Lv Beiguang, they’re grown up now, they’ll have their own families in the future; them knowing you’re like this makes them uneasy.”

Back to this topic again. Jiang Xinyu thought she should persuade a bit more.

”Well, I’ll wait for someone right when I find them.”

Lv Beiguang doesn’t want to be a burden on the two kids.

”By the way, we’ll stay at your place for a few days.”

”Welcome, there’s room at home. Let the two kids take a break here too.”

”Xinyu, do you think sending them away was wrong?”

”How could it be? It was chaotic there, it’s also for their safety. Even without this incident, they might have been sent to help in the countryside. After all, jobs aren’t easily found.”

”True, there are too many people without jobs now.”

”Alright, don’t beat yourself up over it, the kids have grown up, they have their own paths to walk; you just watch over them.

Offer opinions when appropriate, give some advice, and that’s enough.”
