Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

Even when he went to Washington, in the same city, Second Brother didn’t call to meet her.

Candy smiled slightly, but her eyes were not as bright this time. She said softly, ”He had a high fever of over 39 degrees and it wouldn’t go down. I don’t know why he got himself into such a state; he almost lost half his life. I picked him up and took him home, and just like that, we became buddies.”

”Then... did Second Brother ever go back to Washington?” Daisy Grant’s voice was especially low and tense.

Candy looked at Daisy Grant and smiled, sipping her milk tea and leaning back on the bench in a comfortable pose, replied casually, ”Yes. He comes to Washington once a year, and every time he comes, we always have a gathering. That’s our annual promise. He never stays longer than three days in Washington.”

Daisy Grant smiled faintly, her expression indifferent, her fingertips slowly tightening.

Second Brother goes to Washington every year, yet he never contacts her to meet.

”Daisy Grant, I heard from Chen that you’ve been abroad for five years. Why haven’t you returned home even once?” Candy asked.

Daisy Grant smiled faintly, her eyes dark and dull, ”The best way to avoid someone is to stay away from this city.”

The love letter she sent out at her eighteenth birthday party, received no response. Considering how well she and Second Brother knew each other, how awkward would it be to continue pretending as siblings?

So she chose to escape this city, choosing not to return for five years, hoping time would dilute the awkwardness.

She really succeeded, time truly took everything away.

She returned after five years, and Second Brother never mentioned the letter she wrote. Five years truly washed away the awkwardness.

She was somewhat happy, but more heartbroken and bitter.

Her first love letter in her life, the letter she wrote to someone she liked, not only received no response but was indeed washed away by time.

Second Brother probably doesn’t even remember that pale blue letter now, filled with her teenage feelings and shy unease...

Candy’s smile paused slightly as she stared at Daisy Grant, she couldn’t help but softly whisper, ”No wonder he was so sad back then; turns out he loved you, but you had no intention toward him... He goes to the city you’re in every year just to catch a glimpse of you, see that you’re doing well. And yet you fled for someone else, desperately escaping the city he resides in.”

”What did you say? I didn’t hear clearly.” Daisy Grant looked at Candy and asked.

Candy looked at Daisy Grant’s questioning gaze, pursed her lips, her eyes a bit deeper.

She must not reveal Chen’s secret; otherwise, Chen would surely blame her for being nosy and talking too much.

But keeping quiet was really hard for her, she couldn’t do it! She’s always been someone who speaks her mind.

Candy hesitated for a moment, looking at Daisy Grant’s unusually calm gaze, softly said, ”Let me tell you a story, a true story of a friend. I suddenly find it quite touching, so I’ll share it with you.”

Daisy Grant nodded, ”Alright, we’ve been walking for so long today, it’s good to sit here and rest.”

Candy nodded, and began slowly, ”I have a friend, let’s call him Little C, he loved a girl, Little Y, for many years. From childhood to adulthood, he loved no one else but this Little Y.”

”Later Little Y went far away, Little C wanted to call or send messages, but he didn’t dare because he couldn’t be sure that in the distant place, Little Y still remembered that there was someone who had been waiting for her return.”

”Finally, one day Little C learned from others that Little Y was living poorly in that distant place, silent and withdrawn, with a monotonous routine, and made no friends. Little C was worried something might happen to her, so he went secretly to where Little Y was to see her...”
