Urban Supreme Evil Young Master

As those words left his mouth, Manager Miao’s expression changed instantly, his face turning very grim. The consequence of fulfilling the bet would be him getting expelled from Victory Group. How could he possibly agree to such a thing!?

It’s important to know that Victory Group is a pillar enterprise in LA City, with its vast operations truly beyond imagination. The benefits system is the best among all companies in LA City. Many people are desperate to get in. For him, Manager Miao, to resign over a bet, he absolutely could not agree to that.

Thinking of this, Manager Miao’s complexion changed slightly at this moment, and he immediately said, ”Manager Lu, don’t get me wrong. Indeed, we made a bet, but it was just a joke. For you to take it so seriously, isn’t that going too far!”

At this moment, hearing Lu Yu’s words, Manager Miao spoke forcefully, with a righteous tone, trying to use his anger to brush over the matter.

Hearing these words, Lu Yu’s previously smiling face instantly turned grim. He then looked at the angry Manager Miao in front of him and said, ”Manager Miao, as the old saying goes, ’a bet is a bet.’ You didn’t refuse when we made the bet. If you dared to gamble, then you need to own up to losing. Don’t you find it embarrassing to be such a sore loser?”

”I—I thought it was just a joke!”

At this moment, hearing Lu Yu’s words, Manager Miao replied, trying to argue, ”Who knew you would take it so seriously? Why don’t you ask the other managers present? Everyone took it as a joke!”

”Oh? Really?”

Listening to Manager Miao, Lu Yu raised an eyebrow, then stared intently at the manager before him, saying, ”Manager Miao, do you really believe that?”

”Y-yes!”

Hearing Lu Yu’s words, Manager Miao responded, ”You’re the only one who took it seriously.”

”Alright then!”

Hearing what Manager Miao said, Lu Yu gave a slight smile, looked at him, and said, ”Since Manager Miao has put it that way, let me ask everyone if they took this matter as a joke.”

”If that’s the case, I have nothing more to say and the matter will just pass. But if not, then please, Manager Miao, fulfill your bet. How about that?”

Between the words, Lu Yu’s speech was like a sharp knife, aggressively pressing against Manager Miao, exerting invisible pressure on him.

Hearing Lu Yu’s words, Manager Miao wanted to deny it at this moment, but he had already denied it once. If he denied it again this time, it would be too disgraceful.

Moreover, in his view, this kind of thing was not a big deal. Although his relationship with the department managers was usually very distant, he didn’t believe these people would take such a thing seriously.

With this in mind, Manager Miao nodded then spoke confidently, ”Fine, go ahead and ask. See if everyone is taking this matter as a joke!”

When he said this, Manager Miao appeared very confident and straightforward in agreeing. In his mind, there was no reason for everyone to go against him over such a matter.

”In that case,”

Hearing Manager Miao, Lu Yu slightly smiled, then turned slowly towards the other department managers and said, ”Let the managers present express their views!”

Hearing Lu Yu’s words, the managers exchanged glances with one another. After a brief exchange of looks, they nodded and spoke, ”We unanimously believe that this matter cannot be considered a joke, so please, Manager Miao, fulfill the bet and resign.”

Buzz!

Upon hearing this, Manager Miao felt a shiver run down his spine, appearing quite shocked. He never imagined that the situation would come to this, where all the department managers would target him!

”What do you mean?!”

Hearing the department managers’ words, Manager Miao spoke angrily, ”How much did he pay you to squeeze me like this!?”

At this moment, Manager Miao was extremely furious, questioning hysterically, his words full of anger.

He never imagined that a small bet would escalate to this!

”Actually, no one took a cent from Manager Lu, and no one is targeting you.”

Hearing Manager Miao’s words, Xia Bing nearby smiled and said, ”Manager Miao, perhaps you haven’t noticed the serious issues with the efficiency of your administrative department. Complaints from employees and department heads about the inefficient work of your administrative department aren’t new.”

As soon as Xia Bing said this, all the department managers present nodded in agreement.

In a company, while the administrative department may not stand out, it is truly very important. If the administration department fails, it can drag down all departments. It is for this reason that all department managers had significant issues with Manager Miao.

”Indeed,”

The senior manager spoke at this point, ”Vice President Xia is right. Also, during the last emergency meeting, while everyone was discussing solutions, Manager Miao kept opposing. The bet with Manager Lu seems to have originated from him opposing.”

”I...”

Hearing this, Manager Miao was completely at a loss for words. What Xia Bing and this manager said was entirely true, and he could not refute such facts.

”Do you understand now, Manager Miao?”

At that moment, Leng Qingqiu, who kept silent until now, spoke up, ”Victory Group isn’t a state-run unit; it’s not a place for just drinking tea in retirement. We need efficiency and unity. You don’t meet these requirements and have been opposing the company. So, it’s not the department managers targeting you, but your own issues reflecting back on you!”

At this point, Leng Qingqiu paused momentarily, then continued, ”So, for this meeting, you don’t need to participate. I hope you fulfill the bet with Manager Lu, and I expect to see your resignation on my desk by tomorrow morning!”

Hearing this, Manager Miao’s face became ashen, looking very dejected. Leng Qingqiu’s words were essentially a dismissal in disguise, asking him to submit his resignation to save face as he had been in the position for quite some time. Direct dismissal wouldn’t look good.

Thinking of this, Manager Miao shook his head and slowly walked out of the meeting room, looking very downcast.

Witnessing this scene, Leng Qingqiu’s gaze landed on Lu Yu, and he said, ”Now, let the meeting begin!”
