I, the Destined Villain, Start by Controlling the Saint

I have a friend who uses the Gu-raising style of screening. The crowd below was surging, and every single person present was a Prodigy of the current era.

When they heard NanGong XiMeng’s words, they all became incredibly excited.

Xiao Fan sat in his high Immortal Treasure flying pavilion, looking at NanGong XiMeng who was speaking.

Her expression was serious, completely unafraid of the stage, and she seemed quite normal.

Why did she run away when she saw me? Has my perverted nature been exposed?

”ATong, can you tell me what the reason is?”

”It’s probably because you align with the prophecy that appeared in her hand.”

”What prophecy?”

”The Dao of Destiny, opens upon encountering Fan.”

Huh?!

Xiao Fan was stunned for a moment. I just had that thought, how did it become a prophecy?

”It’s not that you just had that thought, but rather that you’ve always had that thought. It’s just that your thought wasn’t specifically directed at someone.”

”In the future, anyone with whom you have an intersection, who possesses peerless beauty and a pristine body, as long as they have the ability to predict, such a prophecy will appear.”

Xiao Fan: ...

He always felt the System was scolding him. Isn’t that saying I fall in love with everyone I see?

No, I just want to possess beautiful things when I see them, what did I do wrong?!

However, this prophecy is interesting; it can save him a lot of time in wooing.

Thinking this way, Xiao Fan felt that NanGong XiMeng was quite fun, though he hadn’t actually played with her yet.

NanGong XiMeng continued, ”Fellow Daoists, perhaps you still don’t know why there is Saint Hall Training, gathering so many Immortal Realm Prodigies together.”

This was true; most of them only knew about Saint Hall Training but didn’t know why the Saint Hall had such training.

”Isn’t Saint Hall Training just an opportunity for us to show ourselves?”

”I thought it was to rank us, and then the Saint Hall would select people to cultivate.”

”I thought so too. Isn’t that the reason?”

NanGong XiMeng heard the soft whispers and answered their doubts.

”What you all said are the results of the training, not the reason.”

”Actually, the Saint Hall’s training is to prepare for the coming Great Calamity.”

Great Calamity!

Many people had heard their Seniors mention this, but most of them were tight-lipped and unwilling to discuss it in detail.

Now that NanGong XiMeng had spoken openly, it immediately ignited their curiosity.

Someone asked, ”Does Goddess imply that Saint Hall Training is related to the Great Calamity?”

NanGong XiMeng nodded and said, ”Yes.”

As soon as these words came out, the entire venue fell silent. The originally boisterous crowd instantly quieted down.

”I convened this gathering as a pre-announcement to all of you, lest you be confused and treat Saint Hall Training as a playful activity.”

”The Saint Hall’s action is to make you understand that danger is very close to us, and when the Great Calamity descends, no one will be able to escape unscathed.”

Every word of NanGong XiMeng’s weighed a thousand jin, heavily striking their hearts. So, there was such an unknown inside story.

”I invited you all here, not only to let you know the reason for this matter but also to tell you to please take this training seriously.”

”This Saint Hall Training is a pre-enactment of the future Great Calamity.”

”The Saint Hall has used a Divine Ability of Great Fortune and Great Karma to create the training ground: the Battleground Forbidden Land of the Great Calamity. The purpose is to let you personally experience the tragedy of the Great Calamity.”

”Most of you are the future hope of your respective forces. Your performance represents the performance of your affiliated forces.

And your performance in the training Battleground Forbidden Land will be reflected in reality.

In other words, if you don’t come to a good end inside, after you come out, there’s a high probability that the force behind you will be submerged by the torrent of the Great Calamity, just like you.”

”Think of your clansmen and fellow Disciples. If you want to survive the Great Calamity, please work hard and strive for a good outcome.”

”Of course, it doesn’t matter if you don’t get good results in the Saint Hall Training. There’s always a way out; even in a place of certain death, there’s a glimmer of hope.”

”Saint Hall Training is an opportunity given to you by the Saint Hall, using the Divine Ability of Great Fortune and Great Karma, to understand your future destiny and change your future destiny.”

”A glimmer of hope is hard to find; please seize this opportunity.”

NanGong XiMeng’s words instantly plunged the high-spirited Prodigies into despair.

It turned out that behind the Saint Hall Training, such profound mysteries were hidden.

”My Tiandao Sect is on good terms with the Saint Hall and knows the will of Heaven. My Tiandao Sect’s Grand Elder, the Saint, has said that this Saint Hall Training will determine the Destiny’s Chosen of this great era.”

”The Destiny’s Chosen, the one destined by Heaven, everything in this great era will belong to him.”

”Including the Saintly Position!”

As soon as these words came out, the entire venue fell silent.

The previous suppression vanished, and everyone became excited again.

”Destined by Heaven? I, Xu Kun, am the true Destiny’s Chosen.”

”You’re the Destiny’s Chosen? Then what about me, the Boss? Move aside, careful or I’ll elbow you!”

”What trash, get lost! I, Zhang Ben Yihan, am the one destined by Heaven! Your Luck can’t be hidden anymore. As a Mordor Giant Lizard, I will suck up all your Luck, hehehehe...”

”Holy cow, how did a madman get in here?”

”...”

NanGong XiMeng had completed the task passed down from within the Tiandao Sect and slowly withdrew.

The rest would be handled by these Elders.

Xiao Fan sat steadily at one end, leisurely watching the flowers bloom and fall.

”A Divine Ability of Great Fortune and Great Karma, linking individual destiny with their affiliated forces, to see which force has more potential?”

Xiao Fan murmured.

He liked to analyze causes and effects, always approaching things from the perspective of self-interest, seeing the essence through benefit.

In Xiao Fan’s view, the Saint Hall couldn’t possibly be so idle as to go to such lengths for training just to benefit all beings.

It must gain some benefit from it!

”ATong, what do you think the Saint Hall can gain from the training?”

The System had lived longer than Xiao Fan. As the saying goes, having an old person in the family is like having a treasure.

What’s more, the System was so old.

”Through the Gu-style screening of the training, the scope of the Destiny’s Chosen can be narrowed. Then, the Saint Hall will provide assistance to the forces behind the top-ranked Disciples in the training, establishing friendly relations.”

”Even if the Destiny’s Chosen doesn’t ultimately join the Saint Hall, he will still be on good terms with the Saint Hall, and the Saint Hall’s influence will expand further.”

This is preemptively befriending the Child of Destiny!

Providing help in times of need leaves a deeper impression than adding flowers to embroidery.

However, this operation gave Xiao Fan an opportunity.

With the Child of Destiny gathered together, one swing of the Looting Luck Sword would fell a large patch of leeks. What else could this be but heaven!

The Saint Hall’s operation is truly good, investing in future Saints in advance. No wonder it can stand firm and extend its reach to all realms and heavens.

”What about the Tiandao Sect? What is its stance?”

”The Tiandao Sect is commanded by Heaven. Frankly, this System doesn’t understand what Heaven truly is, but it should be quite strong. I hope the Host will be Heaven-Defying again.”

”Just consider the previous Tiandao Sect Disciples as a pre-enactment. ATong is rooting for you.”

Xiao Fan: ...

I really appreciate it, you know.

He felt the System was becoming increasingly improper, always trying to stir up trouble for him. I’m a serious person, alright!

Just as Xiao Fan was pondering how to quickly swing the Looting Luck Sword to harvest Luck without being noticed, Ning Bing poked him with her small hand and softly said,

”Young Master, she’s here again.”

Xiao Fan looked over; it was NanGong XiMeng.

She just left the stage and immediately came over to him, and what’s with her darting eyes?

I’m not going to eat you!

”Xiao Gongzi.”

”May I come in?” NanGong XiMeng said with a smile.

This time, she wasn’t wearing a veil, a rare display of her true face before Xiao Fan.

Her face was as beautiful as a flower and as radiant as the moon, delicate and pure, with graceful movements and a sweet voice.

”Of course, please come in,” Xiao Fan said.

”Mm, thank you.” NanGong XiMeng slowly walked in. She didn’t know where to start and hesitated to speak.

Xiao Fan saw her difficulty and said, ”Fellow Daoist NanGong, do you have something difficult to say?”

She nodded somewhat awkwardly, gave a forced smile, and glanced at Ning Bing who was standing nearby.

Xiao Fan seemed to understand something. Ning Bing is hindering your performance, isn’t she?

”Ning Bing is my person. She knows everything about me inside and out. You can rest assured.”

”Everything you say will not be spread.”

NanGong XiMeng still couldn’t let go. She wondered if the other party would think she was trying to scam him if she spoke those two prophecies.

”Xiao Gongzi, could you please ask this Senior to step out for a moment? I just need to say a few words,” NanGong XiMeng pleaded.

Before Xiao Fan could speak, Ning Bing stepped forward and said,

”Young Master, you can do it!”

With that, she left with a smile, leaving behind only a meaningful grin.

No, Ning Bing, what kind of person do you think I am?!

Sigh, time will prove everything, never mind.

At this moment, only Xiao Fan and NanGong XiMeng remained in the palace.

NanGong XiMeng took a deep breath and said, ”Young Master Xiao Fan, do you believe in destiny?”

Xiao Fan was taken aback. This was the first time he encountered such an operation. Usually, wasn’t he the one doing the wooing?

How did it get reversed this time? He was still a bit unaccustomed to it.

Xiao Fan pretended to ponder and said, ”I don’t believe in such things, Fellow Daoist NanGong. Why do you ask?”

NanGong XiMeng thought to herself, ’That’s right, suddenly saying something like this, no one would believe it.’

NanGong XiMeng thought for a moment and then said,

”It’s like this. I prayed to Heaven... for a friend of mine. Yes, a friend of mine.”

Xiao Fan almost couldn’t hold back. Your ability to lie needs improvement.

He put on a serious face and said, ”What happened to your friend?”

”When my friend prayed to Heaven, Heaven only responded with two phrases: ’The Dao of Destiny, opens upon encountering Fan.’”

As she said this, she smiled and looked at Xiao Fan, hinting at something.

Then she continued, ”I calculated for a long... my friend calculated for a long time, but still couldn’t understand the meaning of those two prophecies. So she told me about it, asking me to help her find the answer and see if I could figure it out.”

”I only regret that my ability is limited and I cannot answer her doubts.”

”Just as I was distressed, Young Master Xiao Fan, you suddenly appeared, and I wondered if the ’Fan’ in her destiny might be related to you.”

So direct?

Xiao Fan hadn’t expected that your words... your friend would speak so clearly.

Xiao Fan pondered countermeasures. He was thinking about how to lead NanGong XiMeng into the trap, letting her jump in herself.

Or, a flash of inspiration, wouldn’t it be better to let her bring the answer to the question?
