Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1486: Chapter 1486: Separated for Many Years

The village was desolate; many people left without returning, but most of them still came back to their hometown.

Ms. Fang and Old Man Lu began to rebuild their house and farm the land, and they even brought their own parents over to live with them. After all, their younger brother was gone, and their younger sister was missing. Ms. Fang and Old Man Lu couldn’t be at ease with their elderly parents.

So the couple simply brought them over to live out their old age.

Later, Old Man Lu visited the village of Junior Ms. Fang’s husband, and that side had also started to rebuild, but Junior Ms. Fang and her husband never returned. Since then, they have been missing and never appeared again.

Most people believed that they were already dead, but for their closest family, there was always a sliver of hope.

Ms. Fang felt this way, and so did her parents.

However, Mr. Fang’s parents didn’t hold out for long. They suffered a lot during the escape, coupled with the loss of their only son, causing great sorrow that was hard to alleviate. Later, in the third year after Lu Erbai was born, they both passed away one after another.

Ms. Fang saw off her younger brother and her parents, feeling deeply sorrowful for a time. It can be said that at that time, besides her two sons, the only blood relative she had was the missing Junior Ms. Fang.

She and Junior Ms. Fang were close in age and had a deep sisterly bond, so it was inevitable she missed her.

This is also why not many relatives visited the Lu family during the New Year. The flood years ago had left many families broken and people dead.

Especially after the flood, there was an epidemic. Although Shangshi Village wasn’t affected, many people in the town of Ms. Fang’s family got infected and couldn’t be saved.

That disaster left an indelible mark on most people in Dongan Province.

Madam Ruan said, “The old lady seldom mentions your grandaunt because it’s probably too painful for her. It’s only on rainy days that she can’t help but bring up that flood and your grandaunt. She’s always missed her, especially now that Aunt Liu is gone, it makes your grandmother feel even worse.”

“All the people she knew when she was young are gone, parents, husband, friends, brothers. Now, even though your grandmother has the younger generation around, inside, she feels hollow, still lonely.”

Madam Ruan’s words brought silence among everyone.

To really understand, it was actually Madam Ruan who understood her best among these people.

Even though the old lady didn’t quite appreciate Madam Ruan, she always liked to talk to her whenever something was on her mind.

Among the three daughters-in-law, Madam Li just paid lip service without sincerity, Madam Liang didn’t have the patience to listen to her past, only Madam Ruan was quiet and a very suitable listener.

Plus, due to her family circumstances, Madam Ruan actually envied the old lady’s good relations with her family, where father and son were kind, and siblings had deep feelings.

“Then let’s try and find her,” Shu Yu suddenly spoke, interrupting everyone’s contemplation.

The group quickly turned to look at her, “Find?”

Zhao Xi spoke quietly, “How do we find her? To say something unpleasant, maybe she’s no longer alive. Otherwise, after all these years, even if she didn’t come back, she should have sent someone back with a message. The address hasn’t changed; they always knew it.”

Unless she’s gone, how could there be no news at all?

Shu Yu certainly knew, but…

“Let’s just inquire around. It’s best if we can find something; if we can’t, at least we’ve tried and won’t have regrets. Doing nothing just makes it a nagging concern.”
