Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1480: Chapter 1480: So Sudden

However, this relationship gradually grew distant as life circumstances changed.

Initially, Old Mrs. Liu had a tough life. Old Man Liu was difficult to get along with, plus she had a domineering and mean mother-in-law. In her youth, she ate little and worked hard, especially after giving birth, as she didn’t properly recover during confinement, leaving her often unwell.

In contrast, Shu Yu’s grandfather was willing to endure hardships and treated the old lady well. Even though there was also a strong-willed mother-in-law above them, fortunately, Grandpa Lu sided with the old lady and split from the family early on, living their own small life.

When the old lady gave birth, she had nutritious confinement meals, leaving her plump and her children growing tall and strong.

Old Mrs. Liu, however, after having one child, miscarried twice before eventually having two more.

The only similarity between the two old ladies was that they both had three sons.

This gave Old Mrs. Liu some confidence in the Liu family, making her life a bit better.

But these two once best friends gradually drifted apart for various inexplicable reasons.

Later on, Old Mrs. Liu’s mother-in-law passed away, her husband died, and her sons gradually achieved success and were filial, and her life finally improved. Although she had lingering health issues from her youth, often feeling pain here and there, her later life was ultimately comfortable.

In contrast was the Lu family, among the three sons, Lu Erbai was the most promising in his youth. Lu Dasong was also filial, and Lu Sanzhu, though irresponsible, dared not act out in front of the old lady. By rights, the old lady’s life should be comfortable.

Yet, it was disrupted by Old Lady Ruan; Yu was stolen and sold, followed by Lord’s death, and Lu Erbai spent all his wealth searching for his daughter, neglecting his own work.

The old lady devoted herself to the second household, inevitably leading to tougher days.

Madam Ruan said, “At that time, many people advised us, saying that after so many years, if we couldn’t find her, we should just give up. Aunt Liu, who lived nearby, said quite a lot in front of your grandmother. Every time your grandmother heard it, she got angry and argued with her. Aunt Liu felt your grandmother was ungrateful and muddle-headed, while your grandmother felt she spoke sarcastically, so they never spoke again.”

Madam Ruan knew these things most clearly.

“But after you were found and brought back, the Liu family also sent things to congratulate.”

It’s just that afterward, the Lu family all lived in the county town, so the two old ladies rarely had the chance to speak.

Who would have thought Old Mrs. Liu would just pass away like that?

There truly wasn’t any prior indication.

Thinking of this, Madam Ruan couldn’t help but ask Hua Xian, “What happened to Aunt Liu?”

“Illness,” Hua Xian said, “Initially, no one thought much of it. Old Mrs. Liu had lingering health issues from her youth. It seemed about half a year ago, the old lady’s stomach occasionally hurt. She didn’t think it was serious, since it would pass quickly. But a few days ago, the pain became unbearable, and the Liu family hurried to take her to the county town, but she passed away halfway there.”

Madam Ruan’s heart clenched tightly at this, “That sudden?”

It seems that Yu occasionally having Zhao Xi check the family’s health is quite necessary, especially for the old lady.

Shu Yu sighed, “Grandmother must also feel it’s too sudden.” Quarreling and bickering for half a lifetime, just gone like that. She understandably felt down.
