…

In the Training Room, the air conditioning blew through Lu Cheng’s hair, as he sat upright on a chair with his phone placed on a phone stand, playing a ’MOBA’ live stream.

Lu Cheng held a cup of coffee in his left hand, continuously sipping the cold drink through a straw, feeling refreshed all over.

Rustling, in a pleasant mood, Lu Cheng flipped through his notebook with his right hand, then smiled fondly as he reviewed the summary—

Range of capability:

Upper limb, flexor tendons zones 1234, extensor tendons zones 23467.

Lower limb, flexor tendons zone A4, extensor tendons zones B4/B5.

”Hmm? Why no use of comma?” Lu Cheng noticed a lack of precision, but shook his head: ”Forget it.”

”There are many pitfalls in tendon suturing, for example, last time Director Peng and Peng Kun’s issue with that patient was in extensor tendon zone 8, requiring tendon weaving method, or fascia embedding would be optimal, using other suturing techniques could easily tear it apart on the spot...”

With current capability reserves, it’s sufficient to solve forty percent of common tendon injuries.

While Lu Cheng continued flipping through, the phone rang, it was Zeng Huanqi: ”Lu Cheng, there’s a tendon injury, located at the dorsal aspect of the palm metacarpal joint of the upper arm. Can you handle it?”

Lu Cheng quickly shook his head and replied: ”I can’t handle extensor tendon zone 5, Professor Chen said he wouldn’t have time for teaching today. Brother Zeng, just send the patient to the State.”

”Oh, okay!~ I’ll message Han Xiaoping to have the patient transferred.”

Zeng Huanqi, after responding, hesitated to add: ”Lu Cheng, you know what? Peng Kun from orthopedics joined the emergency department... Director Peng said to let him follow Professor Chen to learn tendon suturing for a while.”

”Don’t know whether Professor Chen agreed, anyway Director Lin agreed.”

Lu Cheng laughed and asked: ”Brother Zeng, is there any reason given for Peng Kun coming to our emergency department to learn tendon suturing?”

”You’re from orthopedics, you come to ask me?” Zeng Huanqi’s tone was teasing.

Lu Cheng’s tone turned stern: ”Brother Zeng, you’re being distant with that comment. We are brothers now, emergency department is my real home, orthopedics was my former home...”

After speaking, Lu Cheng helplessly added: ”Brother Zeng, honestly I only know a few of the seniors have impressive backgrounds. Specifically, I’m not clear.”

It’s not surprising, Zeng Huanqi thought, Lu Cheng can know these people have connections, but the exact level of others’ relationships, if Lu Cheng could figure it out, his own network wouldn’t be simple.

These people don’t often openly mention their ’uncles and aunts’ either.

He said: ”Executive Luo, from the name you can tell, has a significant background. His uncle is from the province. He’s an authentic super second generation.”

”Xiang Kuihua, his uncle is the deputy director of the State Public Security Bureau. As for Tayama, directly connected with our County Health Bureau...”

”With such a triangular relationship, it seems difficult for Young Master Kun to stay in orthopedics.” Zeng Huanqi’s tone was teasing and light.

Orthopedics has five deputy chief physicians, each with exceptional backgrounds; while they didn’t take special ”backdoor” paths, they crowded out many during their skill learning.

Among them, Executive Luo specializes in the spine, Xiang Kuihua’s brother focuses on trauma, and Tayama serves as the deputy chief physician specializing in sports medicine, effectively dividing the resources cleanly within the ward.

Although Peng Haibo is the ward director, the ”operating rules” are not set by Peng Haibo.

Lu Cheng can’t compete with these seniors, and if Peng Kun completed his master’s degree he could deal with them? Could he surpass their skills?

That’s impossible.

In front of them, if Peng Haibo favors close relationships, then sorry, he’s just a director in the hospital, and not an irreplaceable one.

Orthopedics has two wards, many wouldn’t mind changing to another chief orthopedic director...

The hospital is a workplace, but the workplace within the hospital must be special, not allowing such games, hence there’s a fixed rule. With limited surgical volume, whoever is stronger goes up!~

I won’t do the surgery, others can freely step in.

Lu Cheng actually knows some other details, like he knows Tayama specializes in sports medicine, Peng Kun is also a master’s in sports medicine, then why doesn’t Peng Kun aim for ”sports medicine” surgeries?

However, Lu Cheng doesn’t wish to ask more, even Director Peng’s son got ’forced’ to leave ’emergency department,’ aiming to creatively overtake with ’hand surgery,’ Lu Cheng felt everything is reasonable and enlightened: ”Thanks Brother Zeng for the insight, I previously didn’t know the details.”

Zeng Huanqi thought and said: ”Xiao Lu, tell Brother Zeng honestly, do you want to conquer the orthopedics again?”

”If you do, Professor Chen won’t mentor Young Master Kun, you take him under, this would be an excellent opportunity. Director Peng would certainly strongly support you.”

Lu Cheng replied: ”Brother Zeng, I applied for a transfer, it’s not about wanting to return and being able to.”

”Moreover, I quite like the atmosphere in the emergency department, most likely won’t go back.”

The patient volume in orthopedics definitely doesn’t compare to the emergency department’s patient load, part of the emergency department patients are transferred.

Unless Lu Cheng had a screw loose, he wouldn’t think of facing off with those orthopedics deities given the current situation, defeating them then what? How much can skills improve?

”Brother Zeng, let’s not talk about it, Director Lin is calling me.” As soon as Zeng Huanqi mentioned Peng Kun could follow him, Lin Qianlong called, the intention clear.

Peng Haibo is the orthopedics director, Lin Qianlong is the emergency department director, respecting seniority matters.

Though Lin Qianlong couldn’t convince Professor Chen Song, arranging for Peng Kun to temporarily follow Lu Cheng is indeed doing a favor.

The County Hospital’s situation won’t be disrupted by Peng Kun’s master’s degree, even if Peng Kun went to Xiangya Second Hospital for Hand Surgery, it wouldn’t matter, Xiangya Second Hospital’s emergency department hasn’t done tendon rupture for ages, where are mere tendon injury cases for Peng Kun to practice?

Especially since Peng Kun went to study sports medicine, now wants to switch to hand surgery?

”Director Lin!~” After taking a big sip of coffee, Lu Cheng answered the call with a laugh!~ ”Any patients in the department? Brother Han didn’t call me?”

Lu Cheng certainly wouldn’t mention to Lin Qianlong the words Zeng Huanqi just shared.

”Ah? Isn’t it inappropriate?” Lu Cheng unsurprisingly expressed surprise, and then declined.

Lin Qianlong said: ”Xiao Lu, actually there’s nothing about appropriate or not, Professor Chen after all doesn’t routinely do tendon suturing, now Dr. Peng comes to emergency department to follow you, perfectly fitting as your regular assistant.”

”If he sincerely wants to learn, you should mentor him... don’t you say tendon suturing has many classifications? He wouldn’t master them all.”

Lu Cheng quickly explained: ”Director Lin, you misunderstood me, it’s not that I fear Dr. Peng mastering it and leaving me with no surgeries, it’s fearing I can’t mentor well?”

Lin Qianlong’s voice was calm: ”The master leads the way, cultivating depends on the individual.”

”Director Peng isn’t asking you to make Dr. Peng a mature hand surgeon, just simple entry guidance, he definitely needs to go out to learn the technology.”

”Comes as a student, what else does he have to pick? How you teach, then how he learns...”

Lu Cheng listened and remained silent.

That’s correct, given Peng Haibo’s connections and abilities, to cultivate Peng Kun’s hand surgery skills, certainly, he’d soon go out for ’advanced’ learning.

Previous entrusted scholarship was just that.

Yet Peng Kun just returned, for the time being, couldn’t just immediately go out for advanced learning...
