Gun of Ashes

Chapter 524: Chapter 111 Yanar_3

This all happened almost instantaneously. Lorenzo could feel the increased force on his neck, but he had no intention of defending. The Nail Sword stirred up scarlet blood, slashing through everything that tried to block it.

The sharp screech was high-pitched, and a horrifying wound split open along Samuel’s side, as if some massive monster had clawed at Samuel. The wound extended up to his chest, from bottom to top, nearly splitting open Samuel’s entire torso.

At the same time, Samuel’s sword also broke through that layer of armor. For concealment, the armor was slightly thin, and was torn under Samuel’s sword strike, with the Nail Sword cutting into Lorenzo’s flesh.

This was a sword duel among monsters. Both were covered with terrifying wounds, yet stubbornly held their swords, standing like stone sculptures on the ground, with blood dripping from the sword tips.

”So strong...”

After a long silence, Samuel slowly said.

He held his abdomen with one hand; Lorenzo’s sword nearly ripped open his abdomen. He desperately tried to hold the wound shut, preventing his internal organs from falling out.

Lorenzo tilted his head, the sword blade cutting into the armor and sinking into flesh. Samuel did well enough, but he forgot about the Silver Binding Bolt within Lorenzo. The holy metal seemed to have life, growing along the demon hunter’s spine, limiting while also protecting them. Not to mention, at the last moment, Lorenzo raised his hand.

Everything happened so quickly. Even Lorenzo could barely raise his hand, attempting to block the sword strike. The Nail Sword not only sank into his neck but also cut into Lorenzo’s arm.

”Skill and combat are two different things.”

Lorenzo and Samuel briefly locked eyes. The next moment, he shook off the sword blade, and Samuel lunged forward, continuing his attack.

Yage stood pale-faced watching this. His eyes couldn’t take in what was happening; this was beyond human capability, yet they kept going.

As the armor began to cover him while wielding the sword, Lorenzo let Samuel’s sword strikes land on him. There was no need to hide anything now; he had the situation completely under control.

Samuel, in fact, stayed wary of Lorenzo’s armor all along, but under Lorenzo’s cunning disguise, he had no means to break it, merely struggling to defend himself, only to have his arm impaled by the sword blade.

This wasn’t aimed to cause maximum damage; Samuel held his abdomen with one hand, while the other got pierced by Lorenzo, with the sword blade stuck in the joint, bringing sharp pain and restricting Samuel’s movements like shackles.

The next moment, the shotgun was pressed against that ghastly wound on his abdomen. Lorenzo’s eyes were cold as he pulled the trigger.

The Dragon Breath Bullet detonated, hitting at point-blank range, exploding inside Samuel. Intense heat instantly filled his intestines, visible pressure forced blood out from his ears and nose. Following that, intense light spewed from the wounds, and Samuel slowly sank as though losing all vitality.

Such a deadly strike, Lorenzo didn’t even glance again and went directly toward Shermans; they needed to leave immediately.

”I have an idea to escape, though the success rate isn’t high, but it’s better than staying here.”

As Lorenzo spoke, he pulled Shermans up.

”You can’t die yet, old man.”

Lorenzo said to Shermans, who knew far more than he anticipated. The plan changed; Lorenzo needed to find a way to get Shermans out alive.

Attention soon landed on Yage nearby, who looked at Lorenzo fearfully. Despite knowing of the demon hunters’ existence, he never imagined they could be this dramatic. The terrifying wound on Lorenzo’s body was visibly healing with the awakening of the Secret Blood.

It’s practically immortal.

”Get Shermans out first; I’ll deal with Samuel.”

Lorenzo handed Shermans to Yage; being cautious, he knew Samuel couldn’t be left with such severe injuries, so Lorenzo needed to completely incapacitate him. But then, a voice spoke.

”Wait, I haven’t fallen yet?”

Accompanying the voice were thick, eerie sounds, like mud in a fetid marsh, with pale bones floating amid it. Countless maggots writhed and gnawed across the corpse’s remnants. In an instant, all the world’s sins seemed gathered upon that spot.

Lorenzo slowly turned his head, seeing the shattered body steadily rise, resembling the birth of a demon. Numerous red threads extended from the flesh, appearing to be some kind of fiber stitching wounds like needle and thread.

The blazing white eyes stared at Lorenzo. In a brief breath, bones were compressed and realigned by muscles, hard tissues began to proliferate and heal. He picked up the intestines strewn on the ground, stuffing them into that monstrous wound with a deeply twisted sensation. As if time were rewinding, until the last wound closed with red thread, Samuel lifted the Nail Sword again.

”Round two, Mr. Lorenzo Holmes.”

Lorenzo felt a chill in his heart; at this moment, he understood what he faced. This battle would become exceptionally difficult.

No more words were needed. In the next instant, two figures interlocked, amidst extreme swordsmanship, a white flash streaked by, with the Nail Sword hitting Samuel, severing the freshly healed arm once more.

The bloody limb flew high, yet before it landed, thin red threads connected the limb back to Samuel, swiftly retracting like a cast fishing line, while Samuel’s sword struck Lorenzo again, the sword blade scraping against the armor, generating sparks.

The two figures interlocked, steps withdrawing, maintaining a safe distance. Lorenzo’s gaze was solemn, feeling somewhat uneasy.

”What a troublesome authority...”

”I find it quite handy, though a bit painful.”

The blazing white pupils stared at the iron-clad knight. The severed limb had already healed and perhaps this is truly an immortal existence. No matter how many times struck by a sword, no matter how scorching the heat, he always revived, fighting on with iron and blood.

Authority: Yanar.
