Super Gene Hunting Ground

Haha, is your young lady home? Caiyun once told me today is her birthday, so I came to celebrate it with her specially.”

Inside, Yelu Caiyun heard this and quickly stood up, glanced at Yang Xiao with some panic in her expression, and whispered:

”I mentioned it to him once a month ago, didn’t expect him to remember. I didn’t invite him today.”

Yang Xiao laughed and said:

”A guest is a guest. You’re the birthday star today, go out and entertain a bit.”

Yelu Caiyun nodded, stood up, and walked out of the hall.

”Hello, Young Master Qin.”

”Caiyun, I remember you told me today is your birthday. I’ve arranged a birthday celebration at my villa, and there are many friends over. Want to come along?”

”Thank you, Young Master Qin. It’s really unfortunate; I invited some classmates to liven things up, and they’re all here. It wouldn’t be right for me to leave.”

”No problem, we can all go over together. The more, the merrier. You know, my villa is huge, even a hundred people would be fine.”

”Well,”

Yelu Caiyun didn’t know how to reject Qin Yue.

Since Yang Xiao came to the villa and had a heart-to-heart talk with her last time, she had already given up the idea of clinging to Qin Yue, so this birthday party didn’t invite Qin Yue at all.

She didn’t intend to attend the birthday celebration that Qin Yue prepared for her.

However, facing someone of Qin Yue’s caliber, Yelu Caiyun found it hard to outright refuse.

Caiyun felt awkward for a moment and didn’t know what to do.

”Oh, it’s Young Master Qin! Long time no see.”

Yang Xiao walked over and stood beside Yelu Caiyun.

When Qin Yue saw Yang Xiao, his expression immediately froze.

Yang Xiao laughed heartily, and naturally wrapped his right hand around Caiyun’s slim waist,

”Young Master Qin, did you manage to get the Genetic Modification Potion from the Great Dragon Empire yet? You said you’d have it within a month, and now more than half that time has passed.”

Qin Yue watched Yang Xiao’s hand on Caiyun’s waist, his mouth twitched a few times, his face darkened with jealousy.

”Caiyun, you?”

”Young Master Qin, about the Genetic Modification Potion, you don’t need to trouble yourself. I’m sorry, I can’t go with you today. Thank you for your kind gesture, I’ll treat you to a meal another day as an apology.”

Qin Yue suppressed his anger. He always cared about his image and didn’t want to be laughed at by Yang Xiao for failing to win a woman’s affection. If word spread, he’d become a joke to everyone.

Since when did Qin Yue ever fail in wooing anyone?

Qin Yue took a deep breath, quickly adjusted his mindset, forced a smile, and said:

”Since you don’t want to come, that’s fine. There are plenty of people at my place to play with. This young master never lacks women or money, hehe...

As for the Genetic Modification Potion, since I promised you, I’ll certainly try my best. But we’ll have to wait for news.”

Qin Yue instantly portrayed himself as a generous, charming young master surrounded by beauties.

He couldn’t afford to lose face in front of Yang Xiao and Caiyun.

”Happy birthday, farewell!”

Qin Yue acted very gentlemanly and turned to leave.

”Take care, Young Master Qin!”

Yelu Caiyun watched Qin Yue leave, feeling a bit stunned.

To be honest, she didn’t dare offend Qin Yue; she lacked the strength and courage.

If it weren’t for Yang Xiao just now, with his hand around her waist, she would have told Qin Yue she’d visit later, just to give him some face.

However, Yang Xiao’s hand on her waist made her heart flutter, giving her strength and confidence.

Yang Xiao released his hold on Caiyun and smiled,

”I might’ve caused you some trouble.”

Caiyun looked at Yang Xiao affectionately,

”With you around, I’m not afraid.”

Yang Xiao smiled,

”You need to have the courage and determination yourself for me to help you.”

”Hmm, I’ve already decided. I want to be my true self, making sure I’m happy every day without relying on others or living by how others perceive me. I also want to shed my mask, like now.”

Caiyun looked at Yang Xiao, filled with a surge of impulse, wanting to throw herself into his arms. If Yang Xiao gave her just a hint, she could bravely pursue him.

”Hey, Yang Xiao, what are you two doing? Come over and drink.”

”Caiyun, hurry up, birthday girl, we’re about to cut the cake.”

The people in the hall shouted.

Yang Xiao smiled,

”They’re calling us; let’s go over.”

”Alright.”

...

Qin Yue’s villa is one of three standalone villas in the villa district.

Qin Yue rushed home in anger, stomping in, shouting loudly:

”I’m so enraged, I’m so enraged!”

Han Po and others gathered around,

”Boss, what’s wrong? Where’s Caiyun?”

Before Qin Yue left, he discussed with everyone about organizing a birthday celebration for Caiyun, hoping to use the occasion to get her drunk and see if he could force himself on her.

He has lost his patience with Caiyun now.

Caiyun accompanies Yang Xiao every day to the library to read, which makes Qin Yue very irritated.

”Don’t mention it, that bitch Caiyun is celebrating her birthday with Yang Xiao, damn it, it pisses me off. I came to show my care, but I was completely snubbed.”

Everyone laughed and said,

”Boss, why bother with that bitch Caiyun, it’s not hard for you to find a woman, right?”

Qin Yue glanced at Han Po and Shi Gandang, and said:

”Is everything ready for tonight? Send someone to keep an eye on Caiyun’s villa, see when that kid Yang Xiao leaves, today I’m going to personally deal with him.”

”Alright, I’ll immediately send someone to watch at the villa.”

”Come on, boss, have a drink, don’t stay angry.”

”Come on, cheers.”

...

Yang Xiao and the others ate, drank, and played at Caiyun’s place until around ten o’clock in the evening. Everyone left one after another.

Bing’er was having fun and insisted on playing a bit longer before going back.

Bing’er is a child, she likes lively places with fun activities, and after going back with Yang Xiao, it’s just the two of them staring at each other in the dorm, quite boring.

Yelu Caiyun smiled and said,

”Since you still want to play, why not stay here tonight.”

”Yay, uncle, can I?”

Yang Xiao deliberately sighed and said,

”Girls are always this way. Daughters are destined to be raised for others. Alright, you can stay with Sister Caiyun, but no causing trouble.”

”Okay, thank you, uncle! Hehe!”

Yang Xiao looked at Yelu Caiyun and said:

”Sorry to trouble you with Bing’er, she has been without a mother since she was little and needs a woman’s gentle company.”

”Don’t worry.”

”Then I’ll go, it’s still early, I’ll head to the library to read.”

Yelu Caiyun’s heart stirred, and she said:

”I’ll go with you.”

Yang Xiao was a bit surprised and said:

”Alright.”

Yelu Caiyun said goodbye to Qing’er and left the villa with Yang Xiao.

The two walked casually, chatting as they went.

The stars dotted the sky, and the night was alluring.

However, Yang Xiao wasn’t in the mood for romance with Yelu Caiyun and finally headed steadfastly towards the library.

Yelu Caiyun could only shake her head helplessly.

Once inside the library, Yang Xiao quietly began reading.

Recently, Yang Xiao has been reading books related to breaking genetic barriers, and he has identified seven or eight possible genetic evolution methods from dozens of books.

In Yang Xiao’s mind, a comprehensive approach to integrating various genetic modification techniques and revising his own evolution is beginning to form.

However, he still needs to read more books to understand more about genetic evolution.

Yang Xiao didn’t know how long he had been reading; when he looked up, the clock on the wall indicated it was already midnight.

He turned his head to look at Yelu Caiyun beside him, unaware of when she had fallen asleep on the table.

Yelu Caiyun lay on the table, facing Yang Xiao with a contented smile on her face. It’s clear that she had been watching Yang Xiao as she slowly drifted off to sleep.

Her skin, as fair as jade, her delicate features, her hair cascading like a waterfall, and the faint fragrance emanating from her body.

Yelu Caiyun was so close to Yang Xiao that he could almost hear her heartbeat and smell her breath.

Yang Xiao was momentarily entranced.

”Should I wake her up?”

Yang Xiao was internally conflicted.

After hesitating for a moment, he decided not to wake her. He took a piece of clothing from his space ring, draped it over Yelu Caiyun, and then went to the bookshelf to grab a few more books and continued reading.

...

Qin Yue, with Han Po, Shi Gandang, and three other cronies, lay in wait on the must-pass path to Yang Xiao’s dormitory, and another person was stationed outside the library entrance to immediately report when Yang Xiao appeared.

Han Po had already disabled the surrounding streetlights, just waiting for Yang Xiao to arrive.

But they had been waiting since 11 PM until 2 AM, and everyone was about to fall asleep on the ground.

”Damn, what’s going on? Why hasn’t that kid Yang Xiao shown up yet?”

”Damn it, I’ve been squatting here so long that I can’t feel my legs.”

”It’s like he’s vanished; is that kid not coming after all?”

”Slap!”

”Damn mosquito, sucking so much blood.”
