Super Gene Hunting Ground

It was a rare day off, and after getting up in the afternoon, Yang Xiao and Bing’er were playing chess in the room.

”Knock knock...”

There was the sound of knocking on the door from outside.

Bing’er got up to open the door, unexpectedly finding it was Yelu Qing.

”Oh, Qingqing sis, why is it you?”

”Hehe, why can’t it be me?”

Bing’er led Yelu Qing into the room.

”Young Master Yang, you’re up?”

Yang Xiao smiled and said,

”I just woke up from a nap.”

”Our young lady guessed you might be up and asked me to deliver this to you.”

Yelu Qing placed a food box on the table.

Yang Xiao was taken aback,

”What’s this?”

”Our young lady suspected you might have a headache after drinking. She specially made this hangover soup, which also has precious ingredients that assist in improving Genetic Evolution Energy. Give it a try.”

As Yelu Qing talked, she opened the food box, took out a green porcelain soup pot, and a subtle fragrance immediately spread throughout the room.

”Ah? How can I accept this?”

”Why feel embarrassed? You and my young lady are classmates; it’s only natural to care for each other.”

Yang Xiao laughed, wanting to ask if her young lady makes hangover soup for every classmate, but he held his tongue.

It’s unnecessary to be so harsh, especially since it’s a kind gesture.

Yang Xiao nodded,

”Thank you, Bing’er, go get a spoon and a bowl.”

”No need, I’ve prepared them here.”

Yelu Qing took out a bowl and spoon, ladled half a bowl of soup from the green porcelain pot, and handed it to Yang Xiao.

The aroma in the room grew more intense.

Bing’er smacked her lips, muttering,

”Only for my uncle, none for me?”

Yelu Qing chuckled,

”This is for hangover relief; you haven’t drunk any alcohol. Besides, the supplements inside are meant for Genetic Evolvers. Since Bing’er hasn’t awakened Genetic Evolution, drinking this would be wasted. I have some delicious snacks there; come with me later to eat them, hehe... Young Master Yang, drink it while it’s hot, it’ll ease your headache.”

Facing such enthusiastic hospitality, Yang Xiao picked up the spoon, took a sip, and a warm stream flowed through his body, bringing sheer comfort and a sudden refreshment.

Yang Xiao knew that Yelu Caiyun put considerable precious herbs into the soup.

Yang Xiao didn’t hold back and quickly finished a bowl, then helped himself to a second bowl.

The soup pot contained about four bowls of soup, all consumed by Yang Xiao without leaving a drop.

Yang Xiao wiped his mouth,

”Thank Qingqing girl for me to your young lady.”

”Hehe, it’s nothing, no need for thanks.”

Then Bing’er feigned innocence and asked,

”Does Sister Caiyun make hangover soup for everyone?”

Yelu Qing laughed,

”Nothing so wonderful happens, only your uncle gets this.”

Bing’er stuck out her tongue.

Yelu Qing tidied up the soup pot and took her leave.

Yang Xiao had Bing’er escort her out of the dorm area.

Yelu Qing said,

”Bing’er, come play with me for a while, then let’s have some snacks at my place.”

After all, Bing’er is a child, and being with Yang Xiao studying all day is somewhat dull. She was joyous when someone invited her to play, so she looked at Yang Xiao, seeking his approval.

Yang Xiao smiled,

”Do as you please. If you want to go play with Qingqing sis, go ahead. I’m going to the library later; you know where to find me.”

”Okay, then I’m going to Sister Caiyun’s house to play.”

After Bing’er left, Yang Xiao did a quick wash and headed to the library.

...

Xiao Ling was pacing in the room, feeling irritated and uneasy.

Every time she thought of Yang Xiao wrapping his arm around her waist in public today, she was enraged, and there were hints of embarrassment.

”That scoundrel Yang Xiao, daring to be so bold, makes me furious.”

Yet, what could she do?

It was her own boast, and she went back on her word.

She wondered if Yang Xiao’s group would spread this incident, creating humiliation before other students and teachers.

”I really want to strangle him!”

Xiao Ling said hatefully.

From the arena return until evening, Xiao Ling stayed indoors, feeling guilty, constantly worrying about rumors spreading throughout the academy making her a laughingstock.

Only when night fell did she muster the courage to leave the mentor’s dorm under the cover of darkness.

Fortunately, outside there didn’t seem to be anyone gossiping about her; perhaps she was just overthinking.

After all, Xiao Ling is a girl and doesn’t have a boyfriend, despite several male mentors pursuing her, she wasn’t interested in any.

Being shy is normal.

She went alone to the cafeteria, had dinner, and relaxed.

”Who exactly is this Yang Xiao? Not only possessing a Divine Weapon, but his combat power is also quite formidable. However, why is his genetic test map different from others? It’s even considered a worthless anomaly.”

She recalled Director Lu, responsible for admissions, saying,

”Yang Xiao was personally recommended by the Genetic Store headquarters Director in the Great Dragon Empire to Lord Xinghai, the principal.”

With such powerful backing, Yang Xiao shouldn’t be a scoundrel, right?

As she thought about this, Xiao Ling remembered Yang Xiao wrapping his arm around her waist in public.

Although it was a brief physical contact, Xiao Ling clearly felt a shiver at that moment, as if electrocuted, an inner panic surged, causing her to flee like mad.

The feeling was not anger, but a sort of embarrassment.

Her fleeing was a natural reaction to her shyness.

”That damned Yang Xiao, if you ever fall into my hands, I’ll strangle you!”

Xiao Ling shouted inwardly.

Strolling the college for a while, she met several familiar students who greeted her politely.

Xiao Ling felt a bit calmer inside.

Wandering aimlessly in the college, she found herself in front of the library.

”I wonder if that damned Yang Xiao is inside the library?”

Carried by this question, her legs unwittingly led her towards the library.

Entering the library on the first floor, Xiao Ling glanced around, finding it rather empty due to being nighttime.

During the day, dozens of people come, but at night, only about ten.

Scanning the room, she didn’t see Yang Xiao, initially feeling a relief, but unexpectedly felt an inexplicable sense of disappointment.

Xiao Ling felt bored and randomly picked up a book, sat at a desk, and started reading.

But her mind couldn’t settle, flipping through a few pages without absorbing a word.

Sighing, she prepared to stand and leave.

A shadow suddenly flickered before her, as someone sat across from Xiao Ling’s desk.

Raising her head, Xiao Ling felt her heart skip a beat, her heart racing, her face flushing inexplicably.

Yang Xiao smiled slightly,

”Are you looking for me in the library?”

”Why would I be looking for you?”

”Didn’t you say in the arena today, tonight belongs to me,”

”Say that again,”

Xiao Ling’s angry face and angry hand gesture silenced Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao could only stop talking, blinking at her, giving her a playful eye roll.

”As a mentor, you don’t keep your word; how can we trust you in the future!”

Yang Xiao sighed, seated to read, ignoring Xiao Ling.

Watching Yang Xiao’s indifferent attitude infuriated Xiao Ling, prompting her to swing a foot under the table and kick him.

”Ouch!”

Yang Xiao felt a pain, exclaiming loudly, blankly staring at Xiao Ling across from him.

Finally releasing some pent-up frustration, Xiao Ling felt content, chuckling as she covered her mouth.
