Super Gene Hunting Ground

Huang Wen and the others encountered Xie Jun’s Flying People Team about 2 kilometers away from Golden Sand Town.

Xie Jun had dispatched a hundred bird riders to patrol the skies, who, upon spotting a dark mass of approaching flyers, immediately sent ten back to report, while the rest engaged in blocking Huang Wen and her group.

Huang Wen’s eight hundred men fired a volley, and the almost ninety patrollers were immediately surrounded by a sea of fire, falling after being hit by arrows.

Huang Wen, Qin Yu, Deng Xiao, and others continued to fly towards Golden Sand Town.

The ten messengers flew to Golden Sand Town and started shouting:

”Trouble! Nanmu City is attacking us, trouble! Nanmu City is attacking!”

Xie Jun’s troops were preparing for lunch, and the screams sent everyone into a panic.

As they looked up, they saw a sea of fire in the distant sky, faintly accompanied by the sounds of explosions and agonizing screams, followed by a dark cloud pressing towards Golden Sand Town.

Everyone was somewhat panicked, unsure how many people the opposition had sent.

Xie Jun and Zhou Hua, hearing the shouting, immediately rushed out of their rooms.

Xie Jun bellowed:

”Don’t panic, the Flying People Team, take to the skies to block them, don’t go too far, just above us, archers, get ready!”

With Xie Jun’s command, everyone managed to stabilize; the remaining four hundred flyers immediately took to the sky, and the five hundred archers on the ground also promptly readied their bows, aiming at the bird riders in the sky.

At this moment, Huang Wen was leading eight hundred flyers, only about 1 kilometer away from Golden Sand Town,

”Everyone, follow the predetermined tactics, fly around the enemy’s outer airspace, do not linger, blindly shoot at the people inside, regardless of whether you hit or not, shoot while flying, after one circle, we will immediately return, aiming for zero casualties.”

”Yes!”

The group responded.

Among Huang Wen’s flyers, there were six or seven with Primary Enhanced Genes and seventy or eighty with at least Primary Primordial Genes; their Fiery Flame Arrows were powerful and had a long range.

Huang Wen first aimed Fiery Flame Arrows at the opposing Flying People Team, and instantly, over a thousand fiery arrows enveloped the opponent’s four hundred plus flyers.

Huang Wen’s side, with over a hundred fiery arrows out-ranging the opponent’s, had directly forced the enemy to retreat backward.

Boom, boom, boom...

A succession of fiery arrows exploded, Xie Jun’s Flying People Team immediately suffered over a hundred casualties; the rest had to quickly contract their formation, retreating towards the rear, hoping for protection from the ground archers.

The archers used Heavy Bows, which had a more extended range than the opposing side’s feathered arrows.

Huang Wen and her team didn’t pursue, circling about a hundred meters outside the edge of Xie Jun’s troops.

”Fire!”

”Fire!”

”Fire!”

Thus, thousands of Fiery Flame Arrows soared through the air towards Xie Jun’s formation.

Xie Jun’s five hundred ground archers were also no pushovers; wielding Heavy Bows, they fired at the flyers in the sky.

However, Xie Jun’s ground troops had fixed targets, whereas Huang Wen’s aerial team was always on the move; the hit rates of both sides were on completely different levels.

Boom, boom, boom!

The ground was a symphony of explosions, bursting with firelight!

The air above bore the same fate; Xie Jun’s archers were using Heavy Bows with a long-range, and even after opening fire, Huang Wen’s side also had dozens hit, dropping from the sky.

”Retreat!”

Remembering Yang Xiao’s words, Huang Wen, after completing the round of shooting, immediately led her troops to retreat towards Nanmu City.

In this round of surprise attack, Huang Wen’s team shot at least ten thousand Fiery Flame Arrows into Xie Jun’s troops, causing significant losses, with at least three hundred dead and hundreds injured.

”Fuck, this pisses me off!”

”Zhou Hua, immediately gather the troops, follow me to attack, if I don’t flatten Nanmu City today, I swear I’m not human, and tonight, all those bird-women will be completely screwed!”

Xie Jun was furious. He originally planned to wear down the opposing side’s morale but did not expect to be hit by a surprise attack from the enemy’s Flying People Team, which ended up damaging his own troops’ morale first.

Xie Jun also sent another subordinate back to the headquarters.

”Take the 5,000 reserve warriors we’ve prepared and bring them here immediately, then follow my lead, I will flatten Nanmu City today!”

Leading five thousand men, Xie Jun marched mightily towards Nanmu City.

For these genetically evolved experts, a distance of twenty kilometers was merely a half-hour run.

Huang Wen and others flew back to the outskirts of the city.

”Boss, as expected, Xie Jun brought thousands of troops near Golden Sand Town, and I launched a surprise attack on them, probably causing hundreds of casualties. I wonder if he will come to attack immediately.”

”Mm, good. Send the Flying People patrol squad to go five kilometers out, and report back immediately if they see the enemy approaching.”

”Got it!”

Moments later, the patrolling Flying People Squad saw billowing dust in the distance and a dark mass of Flying People in the sky, so they immediately flew back to report.

”Boss, the enemy’s forces are on their way.”

”Good, everyone get ready for battle. The Flying People in the air should tighten our lines, just suppress the enemies in the air, and that will be enough. Thousand archers move twenty meters forward, as soon as the enemy arrives, unleash volleys of arrows to suppress their advance.

Close Combat Beast Soul Warriors, Elemental Mages, Plant Soul System Teams, everyone to their positions, prepare for battle.”

Instantly, six thousand people got into formation according to the previously arranged strategy, and the outskirts of Nanmu City were seething with killing intent.

Not far from the outskirts, Gu Bo and his assistant also appeared in a ten-plus story high abandoned building, watching the situation on the ground from afar.

”Master, who do you think will win the battle between Yang Xiao and Xie Jun?”

”Judging by Evolution Levels, Xie Jun as an Advanced Enhanced Gene possessor, certainly holds a considerable advantage. However, Yang Xiao’s Soul Skills are unique, and he has recently cultivated Ancient Martial Arts, so his combat power should not be underestimated. We cannot judge until the very last moment.”

Xie Jun, leading five thousand warriors, seethed with murderous intent as he approached. From a distance, he saw Yang Xiao’s troops outside Nanmu City and secretly admired them.

Yang Xiao’s troops were calm and collected, ready for offense and defense, an imposing presence. As a soldier, seeing that Yang Xiao’s troops had not a hint of panic, he knew this army possessed powerful combat power.

Xie Jun raised his hand and shouted:

”Stop!”

All the men immediately halted.

”Flying People on aerial alert, archers in front keep the pressure on the enemy to prevent them from charging, the rest of you get into the formation we planned earlier, and get ready for battle.”

Zhou Hua immediately shouted the orders loudly.

So, with both armies about five hundred meters apart, both sides stopped.

Xie Jun stepped out ten meters and shouted to Yang Xiao’s camp:

”I, Xie Jun, am the King of four cities - the towns of Golden Sand, the cities of Yang, and the cities of Silver. I am here today to conquer Nanmu City. I have more people, more troops, and more resources than you. If you’re smart, you’ll surrender early, and I can treat you well. Otherwise, once I take Nanmu City, the males will die, and the females will be taken... don’t blame me for being ruthless and cruel...”

”Hey, hey, who’s that, not afraid he’ll sprain his tongue talking big like that?”

Yang Xiao walked out from the troops, grinning.

Xie Jun laughed and said:

”Yang Xiao, we meet again. I thought you had turned into a coward hiding away, but good, since you have the guts to stand out, I’ll respect you as a real man.

You’ve always loved your subordinates, right? So I’ll give you a chance to play the saint. You and I will duel; if you beat me, I’ll immediately withdraw my troops and stop attacking Nanmu City. If you’re defeated by me, you obediently hand over Nanmu City and Shanyun City, and if you’re willing to bow your head, you can be my right hand, and we can conquer the world together. How’s that?”
