Super Gene Hunting Ground

Before the apocalypse, Nanmu City, Fen City, and Golden City were all within a hundred kilometers of each other. The three cities formed a triangular distribution and were known as the economic delta of Kongming City.

After taking down Golden City, Xie Jun became the king of the two cities, ordering everyone to focus on hunting the mutant monsters around the city and then collecting the genetic fragments obtained.

Xie Jun had always harbored resentment towards Yang Xiao for driving him out of Nanmu City years ago.

”Ha, Yang Xiao, you wait for me, I will fight back to Nanmu City and let you see what happens when you offend me, Xie Jun.”

Zhou Hua said:

”Boss, we must take revenge, but I heard that Yang Xiao now controls Nanmu City and Shanyun City, and he is quite powerful. If we want to attack Nanmu City, we must make thorough preparations.”

Xie Jun sneered:

”What was in the past is in the past. Now is now. I underestimated Yang Xiao and Xia Luo, the two students, and didn’t expect to capsize in the gutter before. Now, I have acquired the Bear-man Frenzy soul skill; I am no longer afraid of Yang Xiao,

Ha, my goal is not just to defeat Yang Xiao and take down Nanmu City. My aim is to conquer the whole Kongming City and become the king of the province!”

After entering the Enhanced Gene Intermediate stage, Xie Jun activated the soul skill ”Bear-man Frenzy,” which is a special skill used in conjunction with the Bear Beast Soul of Tis City.

When using Bear-man Frenzy, Xie Jun’s Beast Soul, the Tis City Bear, can temporarily transform, expanding its size to over 20 meters, becoming an absolutely massive creature. With one palm strike, it can directly collapse a ten-story building as easily as crushing instant noodles.

Moreover, while in the Bear-man Frenzy state, his Defense temporarily doubles, making him nearly invincible to blades and guns.

Taking down Golden City was largely thanks to his Bear-man Frenzy soul skill, pulverizing the opposing leader into a meat patty with one palm.

”Boss, when do you plan to attack Nanmu City?”

Zhou Hua asked.

Xie Jun grinned ominously:

”Not in a hurry for now. Let Yang Xiao live a few more days. First, we’ll take down the nearby Yang City and Silver State, concentrating the resources of four cities. Once I break through to the Enhanced Gene Advanced stage, we can then go and attack Nanmu City.”

Zhou Hua nodded and said:

”When you break through to the Enhanced Gene Advanced stage and further strengthen your power, we will be more assured. Once we’ve taken down Nanmu City and Shanyun City, the surrounding cities will fall like dominos, and by then, Boss, you will be the king of Kongming City.”

”Hehe, once I become the king of Kongming City, I naturally won’t forget about you. I’ll help you to advance to the Enhanced Gene Intermediate Stage first. After that, this world will be ours, brothers. Beautiful women? Play as you wish, ha ha!”

”Ha ha, thanks, Boss!”

...

Xie Jun and Zhou Hua, both military men, knew some tactics in leading an army. Over the next month, they led their troops to take down Yang City and then Silver State, becoming the most powerful group within Kongming City.

Yang Xiao had been living in what used to be Xianan University, now Shaolin Temple, for the past two months.

Yang Xiao was practicing the Dragon Subduing and Elephant Taming Skill with Monk Ben Yin, an internal power skill of Shaolin Temple,

After studying the ancient martial arts from the Shenming Mountain Sect, Yang Xiao had gained some insights into ancient martial cultivation, and within a month, he had made substantial progress with the Dragon Subduing and Elephant Taming Skill.

Besides practicing this internal power, Yang Xiao began reading extensively the Shaolin Seventy-two Skills, including boxing, palm techniques, finger skills, sword techniques, stick skills, and staff techniques.

For these ancient martial skills, Yang Xiao did not demand immediate mastery but aimed to have a general understanding.

Due to his use of a sword, Yang Xiao focused on cultivating Dharma Swordsmanship.

Compared to Divine Mountain Sword Skill, Dharma Swordsmanship was significantly more fierce.

Shaolin’s Qinggong included Dragonfly Water Dipping and Great Body Shifting Skill.

Yang Xiao was not very interested in the Ascending Skill of Dragonfly Water Dipping, but was very clear about the Great Body Shifting Skill and focused on studying it.

Under the guidance of Monk Ben Yin, Yang Xiao was instructed to choose a Shaolin internal power, Qinggong, and martial skill to study in-depth.

After mastering these, it would be easier for him to study other Shaolin ancient martial arts.

Yang Xiao then chose Dragon Subduing and Elephant Taming Internal Power, Dharma Swordsmanship, and Great Body Shifting Skill.

With the foundation of Genetic Evolution, he learned ancient martial arts very quickly. In three months, Yang Xiao had made significant progress in these three types of ancient martial cultivation.

Meanwhile, Xia Luo, Xiao Zhe, and others also made considerable progress.

After systematically learning the combat techniques of Shaolin ancient martial arts and basing them on Genetic Evolution, their combat powers enhanced multiple times.

Previously, everyone used to fight mutant monsters simply by enduring hits; but now, they combined rapid Qinggong, ancient martial skills, along with Soul Skills, and Beast Soul into a complete set of combat skills.

Releasing a set of combat skills usually solved mutant monsters of the same level, and even those slightly stronger didn’t pose much of a problem—it would just mean a few more rounds of fighting.

Huang Wen, Qin Yu, and other girls, also made significant progress while training with Lan Xin at Shenming Mountain Sect.

Their elegant Qinggong, sharp swordsmanship, and powerful Sword Qi completely transformed the girls. They no longer relied solely on Beast Soul and Soul Skills in combat.

Three hundred girls at Shenming Mountain Sect and five hundred boys at Shaolin Temple underwent ancient martial cultivation. All these individuals were elites from Nanmu City and Shanyun City.

Their enhanced overall combat power significantly boosted the combat effectiveness of the entire group.

”Boss, we encountered a group of strangers in the suburbs yesterday. After fighting and capturing them for interrogation, it turns out they were intelligence agents from a nearby market town sent by them. Do you know who the King of the local market town is now?”

During lunch, Xia Luo spoke while eating.

Yang Xiao, engrossed in a book titled ”Thousand Hands Tathagata Palm” while eating, didn’t lift his head and asked:

”Who is it?”

”Xie Jun.”

”Xie Jun? Don’t know him.”

Yang Xiao still didn’t look up.

During this time, besides regularly practicing Dragon Subduing and Elephant Taming Skill, Dharma Swordsmanship, and Great Body Shifting Skill, he spent the rest of his time reading various ancient martial secret books.

Of course, this privilege was exclusive to Yang Xiao; he had special authorization from Monk Ben Yin to enter the Scripture Pavilion at will and browse any ancient martial secret books.

Yang Xiao found that even if he wasn’t practicing, just reading and having a rough idea in mind was helpful for enhancing his knowledge in ancient martial arts. The more he knew, the deeper his understanding of ancient martial arts became, and the more insights he would gain during cultivation.

Xia Luo laughed:

”Xie Jun, don’t you remember? That guy from Xianan City we drove away, think about it, remember?”

”Hmm, remember now. What about him?”

Yang Xiao still didn’t lift his head, biting into a piece of meat from some animal, his eyes never leaving the book ”Thousand Hands Tathagata Palm.”
