Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]

Chapter 241: Chapter 241 - Raw hunger

The silence between them was suffocating.

Jai could hear his own heartbeat pounding in his ears, a relentless drumbeat that seemed to echo through the entire room.

”Why... why can’t I...”

Jai swallowed hard, his throat dry. His fingers twitched at his sides, unsure whether to reach out or pull away.

Shao stood rigid, his back turned, shoulders tense beneath the thin fabric of his shirt.

The dim lamplight cast long shadows across the room, painting Shao’s silhouette in sharp, fractured lines.

”W-What is wrong with you, Shao?” Jai’s voice was barely above a whisper, laced with confusion and something else—something raw and vulnerable. ”Why are you acting this way? Please... talk to me.”

For a moment, nothing.

Then—

Shao moved.

It was so fast Jai didn’t have time to react.

One second, Shao was standing there, a statue carved from tension and restraint.

The next, he had spun around and seized Jai’s outstretched hand, his grip iron-tight, fingers digging into Jai’s wrist with enough force to make him gasp.

Before Jai could even process what was happening, his back hit the sofa, the breath knocked from his lungs in a sharp exhale.

Shao loomed over him, his chest rising and falling in ragged, uneven pants, his dark eyes burning with something feral—something Jai had never seen before.

”S-Shao... what—”

Jai tried to push him away, panic flaring in his chest, but Shao caught his other wrist effortlessly, pinning both hands above his head in a grip that left no room for escape.

The weight of Shao’s body pressed down on him, solid and unyielding, trapping him beneath the heat of him.

Jai’s pulse roared in his ears, his skin prickling with a heat that had nothing to do with fear.

The scent of agarwood—warm, spicy, undeniably Shao—wrapped around him, drowning his senses until he was dizzy with it. His body reacted before his mind could catch up, a treacherous throb building low in his stomach, his breath hitching despite himself.

No. Not again.

He had sworn this wouldn’t happen. Not after the dorm room. Not after the way he had fallen apart under Shao’s touch, only to be left with unanswered questions and a hollow ache in his chest.

”Get... get off. Shao—Shao!” Jai twisted beneath him, desperation clawing at his throat, but Shao’s grip only tightened, his fingers digging into Jai’s wrists hard enough to leave bruises.

Then Shao leaned down, his body pressing flush against Jai’s, stealing the air from his lungs. Jai gasped, his heart hammering so violently he was sure Shao could feel it.

Warm breath ghosted over the shell of his ear, sending a shudder down his spine.

”Shao, please. Move. Please...” His voice was barely a whisper now, trembling with something he refused to name.

Shao didn’t answer. Instead, he exhaled sharply, his lips brushing against the sensitive skin of Jai’s neck—so close, too close—before he finally spoke, his voice rough, raw with something that sounded like agony.

”You... You make it impossible to think.”

And then—

Jai stopped breathing altogether.

Because Shao’s mouth was on his.

The kiss was not gentle soft hesitant graze. No.... This was hunger—raw, unchecked, desperate hunger.

Shao’s lips crashed against his, hot and demanding, swallowing Jai’s gasp of surprise. His teeth grazed his bottom lip, just shy of painful, and his body burned in response despite the storm of confusion raging inside him.

A soft growl rumbled from Shao’s throat as he pulled back just enough to speak, his breath scorching against Jai’s skin. ”I begged you too,” he whispered, voice ragged. ”I asked you not to come close... You should have listened, Jai.”

Before Jai could protest, Shao’s tongue traced the shell of his ear, sending an electric jolt down his spine.

A broken gasp escaped him, his fingers twitching helplessly in Shao’s iron grip. ”N-No... I was—”

”Shhh...” Shao’s murmur was dark, possessive, his body pressing harder against Jai’s, stilling his struggles with sheer force. ”You wanted to know why I ignored you... This is why.”

And then—

Jai’s breath hitched as Shao’s hands slid lower, fingers skimming the hem of his shirt before slipping beneath.

The touch was searing.

Shao’s palms were rough against the sensitive skin of his hips, thumbs pressing into the dip of his waist.

Jai shuddered, his stomach tightening at the contact, his skin burning where Shao touched him.

”Shao—”

But Shao wasn’t listening. His mouth was back on Jai’s, swallowing any protest before it could form.

One hand remained tangled in Jai’s wrists, pinning them above his head, while the other roamed lower, fingers tracing the curve of his hipbone with a possessiveness that made Jai’s toes curl.

Then Shao rocked his hips down, grinding against him in a slow, deliberate roll.

The friction sent a shockwave of pleasure through Jai, so intense his vision blurred. ”Shao! Stop!” he choked out, but his traitorous body arched into the touch, heat pooling low in his stomach.

”I... I can’t...” Shao moaned, the words barely coherent, his voice thick with need. He did it again, harder this time, and Jai’s legs trembled, his resolve crumbling. A tingling wave of sensation flooded his entire body, his skin alight, his thoughts scattering. He was losing control—fast.

”Shao... please,” he begged, his voice cracking.

Something in his tone must have pierced through Shao’s haze. The other man froze, his breath stuttering. Then, slowly, he leaned back, his grip loosening just enough for Jai to see his face.

Shao’s eyes were wide, horrified.

”Please... I don’t like this,” Jai whispered, his voice small.

Only then did he realize—his cheeks were wet.

Tears.

He was crying.

”I don’t like this,” he sobbed again, the words spilling out in a broken rush.

Shao’s expression shattered. His trembling fingers lifted, brushing away the tears with a gentleness that contrasted violently with the bruising force of moments before. For a heartbeat, neither moved. Then—

Shao wrenched himself away so fast Jai gasped. He stumbled back, his chest heaving, before turning and bolting across the room. The door to the broken bathroom slammed shut behind him with a deafening crack.

Jai was left alone on the sofa, his arms still stretched above him, his skin still burning where Shao had touched him.

A soft sob escaped him.

He didn’t know why he was crying.

He didn’t know anything anymore.
