The crisp sound echoed on the shattered street as Yang Yu raised his Shield to intercept Bar’s incoming black Sword Blade.

Small cracks slowly spread from Yang Yu’s [Broken Cocoon Butterfly], similar to the previous confrontation with Ammonval; Bar unleashed a strike capable of destroying the Legendary Shield.

This attack wasn’t merely an attempt to capture Qiuye; it was intended to take Qiuye’s life.

Activating the [Reverse Wheel] and executing [Breaking Cauldrons and Sinking Boats], Yang Yu pushed forward with his Shield, repelling Demon Bar’s black blade.

Staggering back two steps, Bar’s eyes stared intently at Yang Yu in front of him:

”You still managed to catch up, but you’re late.

I’ve already controlled one of your allies.

He’s now surrounded by Black Magic, and with just a flick of my finger, the Black Magic will transform into a terrifying attack, taking him away.

If you don’t want him to die, listen to my terms.”

Even though he failed to capture Qiuye smoothly and has not managed to revert Lotcar back to his original form, fully controlling his fate, Bar had no choice but to negotiate with Yang Yu.

As long as he lowered his demands by one Level, there might still be room for negotiation.

However...

Even knowing his partner was engulfed in Black Flames, Yang Yu appeared calm:

”If you can truly do it, then show me.

Lotcar won’t be taken down so easily.

You’re merely a spent force, a failed past Creation.

The powers you possess were developed to deal with the goddess.

Not to deal with us.

Recognize reality. Although in the past, you did indeed stand at a height unreachable by Humans.

But now...”

Yang Yu left his sentence unfinished, Bar’s expression changed dramatically.

Struck at his sore point and repeatedly pummeled, Bar’s anger grew ever larger, reaching a critical point, ready to explode at any moment.

Bar recalled.

He remembered being kept in circles by Angels, those days when his anger would burn, wanting to annihilate Angels, thus becoming a complete pawn for those people.

This emotion was bestowed upon him by Humans.

It was a Human-bound rein to prevent him from fleeing during the war with Angels.

Facing powerful Angels, supported by this hatred and anger, he never fled from battle.

Until he faced the goddess, he realized his insignificance, shifting his anger and hatred.

The hope of defeating the goddess was extremely slim.

He would just lose vital memories in one fight after another, then have selective memories implanted by his creators.

Upon rebirth, Bar began to ponder.

Why those seemingly insignificant ones didn’t confront the goddess themselves, but ceaselessly commanded him against such an unimaginable opponent.

Bar, like other Demons, reached the consensus that Humans were a race of cowards.

Though Demons were created by Humans, the stronger, more perfect Demons should be the true rulers of this world.

The seeds of new hatred gradually took root and sprouted within Bar’s heart.

Ultimately, Bar chose to lead a demonic betrayal.

Who would have thought their dominance had barely begun before falling into Human’s trap, sealed in the Abyss?

Throughout this millennium of waiting, Bar became more entrenched in his thoughts and found his next target.

But...

Bar had just taken a step forward when Yang Yu, along with his partner, blocked his path.

Repeated battles wore down Bar’s will.

New seeds of hatred took root and sprouted within Bar’s heart.

Looking up at the sky, Bar burst into laughter:

”Hahahahaha!

What arrogant words.

Even if our powers were truly developed to combat the goddess,

they are more than enough to deal with you.

Since negotiations failed, brace yourselves for regret!”

Bar raised his hand and squeezed fiercely in mid-air; the Black Flames surrounding Lotcar danced wildly.

The Black Flames became even more violent, transforming from substantial black Spurs into countless flickering black currents, enveloping Lotcar entirely.

Lotcar still lay on the ground, silent, enduring all the attacks.

The situation was urgent, Yang Yu’s silhouette flickered, arriving in front of Bar, swinging his Black Tachi toward Bar’s head.

The Magic had been fully unleashed; Bar’s gaze returned to Yang Yu.

The Shield was pierced by Yang Yu’s Black Tachi, leaving Bar no choice but to evade; his silhouette turned illusory before Yang Yu, dodging Yang Yu’s strike.

Red currents pierced Yang Yu’s palm, coating his Sword Blade with orange-red.

Yang Yu had long observed all of Bar’s movements clearly.

Just as Bar steadied himself to launch an attack, Yang Yu faked a move, deceiving Bar of his single defensive opportunity.

With a ”slash” sound, Yang Yu’s orange Sword Blade parted Bar’s frog-like skin, releasing torrents of black flowing from Bar’s wound.

Was this guy hiding his strength earlier?

No, he bore a strong aura of the goddess—what kind of goddess blessing did that elf cast upon him?

Each time, each time, every time it’s like this!

Whether it’s them now or Angels in the past, they become so troublesome only after obtaining the goddess’s blessing!

Numerous memories of battling Angels surged in Bar’s mind.

With each flash of an image, his disdain for Yang Yu intensified.

Bar did not falsely perceive it; before formally engaging Bar, Iyas persistently applied various buffs on Yang Yu, directly enhancing Yang Yu’s combat capabilities.

Judging by the stats, Yang Yu already possessed attributes comparable to Bar.

The black from Bar’s wounds still didn’t abate as Yang Yu raised his Black Tachi again, slashing toward Bar, leaving several terrifying wounds on Bar’s body.

”You fiend.

I will never let you go.”

Black Energy continued to gush from the wounds as Bar focused his gaze, his pupils emitting black-purple light.

In an instant, the black mist sprayed from Bar’s body transformed into tendrils adorned with reversed spurs, whipping toward Yang Yu.

Yang Yu was about to dodge when Iyas’ Light Arrows streaked across the sky, exploding before Yang Yu, releasing dense Holy Light.

The barbed tendrils shattered upon contact with the Holy Light.

Seeing this, Yang Yu ceased dodging, emitting red light from his body as crimson blood power burrowed into the ground, quickly expanding a Deceleration Field centered around him.

[Heavenly Step] had mostly been used for journeying; Yang Yu needed caution to keep Baal from ascending.

Actually, Yang Yu need not worry too much about this matter.

Tico had repeatedly launched attacks against the Black Fireballs, attempting to Dispel the Black Flames, but they quickly realized their Magic was ineffective.

After Bai Jin’s brief explanation of the Black Flames’ Special attributes to the duo, Tico and Li Yan decided immediately to assist Yang Yu’s team with full coverage.

Magic interrupting Bar’s actions naturally entered their strategy selection.
