The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Amadeus Yancey picked up the car keys, walked to the girl’s side, took her hand, and turned to them, saying, ”No need, I’ll drive.”

”Let’s go.” He said softly to the girl.

Nathalie Quinlan picked up her bag and said to Mr. Yancey and Candice Yancey, ”Well, Grandpa Yancey, Mrs. Yancey, I’ll head back first.”

”Go on then,” Candice Yancey hurriedly waved her off, ”Get back and rest early.”

”Sure.”

Nathalie had just agreed.

The man was already holding her hand, striding out of the private room.

Candice Yancey also got up at this moment and said to Mr. Yancey, who was still sitting in the private room, ”Dad, we should be heading back too.”

”No rush.” Mr. Yancey’s face lacked all the kindness and gentleness from when Nathalie was there, leaning back, he picked up the tea cup on the table, blew away the froth on top, took a small sip, then heavily placed the cup in front of him, raised his eyelids, and his sharp eyes shot directly at Shania Yancey, who had been silent since the beginning, and said, ”Weren’t you quite talkative before? Speak up.”

Shania Yancey’s face went pale, standing up uneasily, she dared not meet Mr. Yancey’s eyes and mumbled, ”Grandpa, I, I don’t know either. She didn’t say before...”

Mr. Yancey’s face suddenly darkened, slamming the table with a loud smack, making the cups on the table bounce up, ”You didn’t know? Are you deaf? Nathalie made it very clear from the very beginning that she knew people from the business alliance. You refused to believe it, sneered, and gossiped. No, I should say from the moment she walked in, you haven’t stopped coldly mocking... Do you recognize the person who just came in, do you need me to help you recall?”

Besides Nathalie Quinlan and Amadeus Yancey, only Fredy Yancey and Simon Grayson from the business alliance had left the booth.

The other Yancey Family members, including Ian Edbert, had not yet left.

Mr. Yancey publicly questioned her.

Shania Yancey felt like her face was being stripped bare in public, her cheeks burned with embarrassment, and every word Mr. Yancey said was perfectly justified, leaving her no room to excuse herself.

”I...”

Shania Yancey was so flustered she wished she could find a hole to crawl into.

At that time, she did indeed look down on Nathalie Quinlan. Who would have thought Nathalie actually knew Simon Grayson from the business alliance?

Mr. Yancey looked at her coldly, ”Can’t speak now?”

The veins on the back of Shania Yancey’s hand bulged, standing there with her head bowed, looking as disheveled as a lost dog.

”I, I was wrong.”

Mr. Yancey let out a deep breath, his neatly trimmed short white hair, his eyes sharp, ”I don’t care what you think, I can’t manage that. But Shania, don’t forget, you are at least Nathalie’s elder. If you can’t show even a bit of elder’s dignity, you don’t deserve to be an elder!”

Shania Yancey’s legs went weak; how could she fail to see the warning in Mr. Yancey’s words, she panicked, raised her head, and immediately stated, ”Grandpa, I will find time to apologize to her. I really didn’t expect her to know... Simon Grayson, I was indeed wrong this time.”

Candice Yancey mildly interrupted her, ”No need to apologize.”

Shania Yancey’s face showed a tinge of embarrassment in her pallor, somewhat awkward, ”Young lady, what do you mean? I am sincerely apologizing.”

”Nathalie doesn’t like being disturbed and doesn’t need your apology,” Candice Yancey did not adopt Mr. Yancey’s assertiveness nor Amadeus Yancey’s serene depth.

She was always the most gentle person in her approach within the Yancey Family.
