The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Nathalie Quinlan also looked at him, her eyes clear and bright: ”Mm, let’s set off.”

In the private room on the first floor of the Intercontinental Hotel.

Fredy Yancey was chatting leisurely with Mr. Yancey.

Shania Yancey, on the other hand, didn’t have such a pleasant demeanor, frequently looking toward the entrance of the private room, seeming quite impatient.

Besides Fredy Yancey and Shania Yancey, there were a few other members of the Yancey Family in the room.

Ian Edbert was also among them.

After asking Mr. Yancey when they would arrive, Candice Yancey instructed the waiter to start serving the dishes in about half an hour.

Having arranged everything, she turned back only to find Shania Yancey sneering disdainfully.

Candice Yancey’s expression cooled a bit as she added some dishes that Nathalie loved, then instructed the waiter to leave.

She put the menu back, looked at Shania Yancey, and opened her mouth smoothly and confidently: ”Where are you staying this time?”

Shania Yancey had been to Inderia before, thinking herself quite familiar with the place, so she poured herself a glass of water and answered without looking up: ”Probably at the hotel.”

Candice Yancey nodded slightly.

Shania Yancey suddenly looked at her and casually remarked: ”Amadeus’ little girlfriend isn’t here yet. What’s she doing in Inderia?”

Candice Yancey furrowed her brows slightly and replied flatly: ”She’s probably doing research.”

”Doing research?” Shania Yancey was startled, seemingly caught off guard, then reflexively sneered, tightening her grip on the glass as she said: ”She went to Inderia to do research? Is she aiming to get into The First Research Institute? Young people these days... so ambitious.”

Mr. Yancey had been conversing with Fredy Yancey, but upon hearing this, his smile gradually faded as he placed his phone down heavily with a loud thud.

Shania Yancey noticed Mr. Yancey’s rather cold expression, and with her eyelids twitching, she immediately shut her mouth, daring not to speak carelessly anymore.

However, inside, she wasn’t as honest as she appeared, feeling very unbalanced.

After all, she wasn’t wrong.

Amadeus’ little girlfriend had left Tsinghua University and took a year off to go to Inderia for research. Isn’t she just being ambitious and aiming for The First Research Institute?

If The First Research Institute were so easy to enter, everyone would get in!

That Nathalie Quinlan was just dreaming!

The more Shania Yancey thought about it, the more suffocated she felt, insisting that she had spoken the truth, but Mr. Yancey turned against her, insisting on defending that girl.

”Alright, alright, young people need to have aspirations, otherwise what’s the difference between them and us? Having aspirations is good, having aspirations and goals leads to progress.”

Fredy Yancey had long been accustomed to smoothing things over, skillfully glossing over this topic. He then turned to Mr. Yancey, who was sipping tea, and gently asked: ”Amadeus and Nathalie should be arriving soon, right?”

Mr. Yancey slowly sipped his tea before setting the cup down, his expression slightly improving as he acknowledged: ”Nathalie just finished her work, and Amadeus went to pick her up. They should be here soon.”

Fredy Yancey called over the waiter and ordered some juice, then turned back to smile at Mr. Yancey: ”Since Nathalie is here, let’s not drink alcohol tonight.”

Mr. Yancey thought for a moment, nodded, and seemed noticeably softer in his gaze: ”You really are considerate.”

Shania Yancey watched the two conversing from the side, her face showing no ripples, only feeling it was ridiculously ironic.

Is Nathalie busy?

What could she possibly be busy with?

After all, she’s just from a small place, with no mother since childhood to teach her any politeness. Even when the elders have arrived, as a junior she doesn’t hurry up to come, showing no etiquette whatsoever. How could she ever hope to marry into the Yancey Family!
