The Unveiling of Secret Queen

”What are you hesitating for? Just say it.” Mr. Yancey urged impatiently.

Candice Yancey took a deep breath, exhaled the turbid air, and said, ”I found out that The First Research Institute recently held an heir selection. On the surface, it was to choose a disciple for Nicholas Fuller, but in reality, it’s to select the future successor of The First Research Institute. This person... is Nathalie.”

Although Mr. Yancey was mentally prepared, hearing this news still left him utterly shocked!

”You mean... Nathalie is The First Research Institute...”

”Yes. The future director of The First Research Institute.” Candice nodded under his gaze, ”Everyone in Inderia knows about this.”

She hadn’t mentioned Nathalie’s previous sensational moves, like breaking all records at The First Research Institute and crushing the century-old genius of the Kingsleys Family...

Nathalie’s style was the same as back home.

Low-profile in her demeanor.

High-profile in her actions.

She wasn’t intentionally being high-profile; it was purely due to overwhelming power.

”Dad, there’s one more thing I need to tell you.” Candice looked at the old man who hadn’t adjusted from the shock, and said gravely, ”There’s someone named James Lawrence from the Kingsleys Family who just contacted me, saying that Lynn Kingsley, the head of the Kingsleys Family, wants to meet you.”

Mr. Yancey certainly knew who Lynn Kingsley was.

He immediately pulled himself away from the thought that Nathalie is the future successor of the institute, and his expression turned serious: ”Him?”

”Do you want to meet him?” Candice stood in place, seeking his opinion.

Mr. Yancey quickly understood, and replied with extreme calmness, ”No need.”

”The Yancey Family is not considered a major power in Inderia. It’s unlikely Lynn Kingsley actually wants to meet me. If he does, he probably wants to pass a message through me to Nathalie.”

Candice thought the same, but since it was such a big issue, she couldn’t make a decision on her own and had to ask for Mr. Yancey’s opinion.

Mr. Yancey was very clear-headed, and said very calmly, ”Even though I don’t know what he wants me to convey to Nathalie, I won’t help outsiders harm our family.”

Candice picked up her phone, ready to step aside and return a call to James Lawrence: ”In that case, I’ll inform them.”

Mr. Yancey stopped her: ”Have you gotten in touch with the people from the business alliance?”

Candice paused and turned back: ”I’ve sent them a message, but they haven’t replied yet.”

Besides being worried about Nathalie, Mr. Yancey’s trip to Inderia also involved managing some of the Yancey Family’s businesses, some of which required cooperation with other powers through the business alliance.

However, the business alliance had not yet given them a response.

This situation was making the seasoned Mr. Yancey a bit anxious. He waved his hand and said, ”Go respond to the Kingsleys Family.”

Candice knew he was anxious, but this kind of matter couldn’t be rushed. She replied with a simple ’alright’ and went to the side to return the call to James Lawrence.

Candice herself managed the Yancey Family’s businesses in Beijing, making her an undeniably strong woman.

Her efficiency was immense.

She was adept at managing relationships.

Even though she refused the invitation from the Kingsleys Family, she phrased it so beautifully that even someone shrewd like James Lawrence found no fault, and after several attempts to propose a meal, he had to give up seeing Candice’s firm stance.

The Yancey Family did not engage with them.

James Lawrence hurriedly went to report to Lynn Kingsley: ”Clan Chief, Mr. Yancey is unwilling to see you.”

Lynn Kingsley was looking at an old photo.

As soon as James Lawrence entered, he leisurely opened the drawer, put the photo back, then raised his eyelids and asked unhurriedly, ”Hmm. What has she been doing lately?”
