The Unveiling of Secret Queen

”Amadeus, aren’t we going over?” Sadam Vinson watched the girl’s figure fade into the distance and regretfully looked away, as if he had missed out on a fortune.

Alfred Garland also wore a look of regret, sitting silently with his hand on the steering wheel, not saying much, acting very stiffly.

It seemed that as long as Amadeus Yancey didn’t go, he could sit in the car without moving a muscle and wait for Nathalie Quinlan to come back.

”Amadeus, you really don’t want to watch Nathalie’s tryouts?” Sadam couldn’t sit still for even a minute before he started to squirm in his seat, trying to persuade him: ”Aren’t you curious to see Nathalie wipe the floor with those two we just saw?”

Amadeus Yancey was looking down at his phone, seemingly sending a message to someone. Hearing this, he slightly lifted his chin and glanced at him askew.

Sadam quickly shut up, muttering to himself: ”And you call yourself her boyfriend? What kind of boyfriend doesn’t go support her at such an important event? No wonder, even after so long, you haven’t held Nathalie’s hand much. Tsk, you’re so unromantic. If I were Nathalie, I’d be just friends with you too.”

”What are you mumbling about?” Amadeus Yancey finished sending the message, put away the phone, rolled down the car window, and leaned lazily against the door, asking him.

Sadam had only whispered to himself and dared not say it out loud.

When Amadeus asked, he immediately put on a serious face, sitting up straight: ”No, I didn’t say anything.”

Amadeus smirked, giving him a side glance.

Just then, the phone chimed with a ”ding.”

He ignored Sadam, picked up his phone again, glanced at it, unbuckled his seatbelt, and got out of the car.

Then he said to the two in the car: ”Let’s go.”

Sadam, unbuckling his seatbelt with one hand, asked: ”Amadeus, where are we going? Aren’t you waiting for Nathalie to come back?”

Amadeus was wearing a crisp dark coat today, hands in his pockets, giving an impression of a tall, handsome man.

”We’re going in.”

Sadam had actually guessed where he wanted to go, but he asked just to hear the confirmation out loud.

Sadam immediately beamed and quickly got out of the car: ”Alright.”

Alfred Garland also swiftly got out, closing the car door behind him.

After getting out, he didn’t forget to respectfully ask the man: ”Amadeus, you need an invitation letter to enter the research institute today, did you get one?”

”Yes.” Amadeus stepped towards The First Research Institute, speaking concisely: ”I just got one from someone.”

...

Ten minutes later.

Vincent Moore came out to meet them, and Alfred Garland knew then from whom he got an invitation letter.

”Amadeus.”

Vincent was the same as always, a rugged face with a scar running across nearly half of it, making him look like trouble.

He was familiar with both Alfred Garland and Sadam Vinson and turned to greet them politely.

”Mr. Vinson, Alfred, you guys are here too.”

Having gotten familiar with him, Sadam was comfortable enough to bro-hug Vincent and tease: ”Since you’re here, of course, we’d be here too. Speaking of which, whenever Nathalie’s around, it’s always you from the Yandor Sect, isn’t it? Where’s Zed? Why didn’t he come over?”

”Ahem.” Vincent was embarrassed, scratching his nose to cover up his awkwardness: ”Just a coincidence. He had other matters to attend to, and I happened to be free, so I came instead.”
