The Unveiling of Secret Queen

But Giordano Yancey was not angry that Nathalie Quinlan and the others lied and refused to tell him the truth.

It was because he was worried.

Worried that Nathalie Quinlan might suffer losses in Inderia.

He didn’t mention how anxious Mr. Yancey and Candice Yancey were, nor how decisively they arranged the matters in Beijing and rushed to Inderia.

But Nathalie Quinlan could already guess some of it.

She was silent for a moment, then asked, ”What time will Mr. Yancey and Mrs. Yancey arrive?”

Amadeus Yancey mentioned a time.

Nathalie Quinlan got up and walked upstairs: ”I’ll go meet them at the airport a bit later.”

Meanwhile.

On the Yancey Family’s private airplane.

Mr. Yancey was sitting solemnly, flipping through data on the Yancey Family’s power in Inderia over the years.

Candice Yancey brought him a cup of tea, gently placing it on his table. Seeing that Mr. Yancey didn’t even raise his head, she couldn’t help but worry and said, ”Dad, take a break. You haven’t closed your eyes for over ten hours since you boarded the plane. These documents can wait until we arrive.”

Mr. Yancey turned a page of the documents, took a deep breath, then sat straight, looking directly at her and said, ”Inderia’s power is intricate; I’m not assured about Nathalie. The Yancey Family’s roots are in Beijing, ultimately not in Inderia. I’m afraid I can’t protect her.”

Candice Yancey remained silent.

It took her quite a while before she sat down, rubbing her forehead, looking headache-stricken, she said, ”I don’t know what Nathalie plans to do in Inderia. Amadeus won’t tell us the truth either.”

Mr. Yancey didn’t know much, but he was aware of Lynette Kingsley.

Lynette Kingsley used to be part of The First Research Institute.

Mr. Yancey opened his mouth slightly, mentioning The First Research Institute with a somewhat reserved expression: ”She might want to enter The First Research Institute.”

”The Yancey Family’s power isn’t in Inderia, and The First Research Institute is a place that even the three Great Families in Inderia have to show respect to. I’ve heard about the selection system of the institute before; if she wants to get into The First Research Institute, I’d have to think of ways.”

Candice Yancey nodded, noticing the heavy atmosphere.

She proactively broke the tension in the atmosphere, smiled, and said: ”We’ll deal with future matters in the future. When the car reaches the mountain, there will be a way forward. I also know several powers in Inderia; if necessary, I’ll have to ask them if there’s a way to get Nathalie into The First Research Institute. By the way, Dad, has Amadeus responded to you? Will Nathalie join us for dinner tonight?”

When she mentioned Nathalie Quinlan, Mr. Yancey’s severity lightened.

His deeply lined face visibly relaxed, showing a gentle expression, and his voice became soothing: ”If she’s busy, we can invite her another day. We need to reorganize the Yancey Family’s power in Inderia, it’s not urgent at the moment.”

”Alright.” Candice Yancey responded, turning her head, saying to the old man: ”When you meet Nathalie, please don’t speak recklessly. If she doesn’t want to say what she’s doing in Inderia for now, don’t insist on asking. Young people have their own matters to deal with, we should help as much as we can. Nathalie has always been so considerate that it makes one’s heart ache. Since she’s doing this, she must have her reasons.”

”Do I need you to teach me how to act?” Mr. Yancey glared at her displeasedly and snorted, saying, ”I wanted to tell you not to be nosy and ask awkward questions.”

Candice Yancey saw his protective stance, feeling amused within, and her lips indeed curved into a smile as she said, ”I won’t ask recklessly.”

Mr. Yancey, annoyed by the situation, glanced at her again, thought for a moment, and solemnly said: ”I remember Fredy Yancey knows someone from The First Research Institute.”
