Chapter 334: Chapter 188: Night’s Counterattack

Demacia had a hashtag appear on his forehead. Next time, call on him when there are other people around; this guy is only tough in his own territory.

”Alright, alright, you’re really strong, happy now?”

Demacia was a bit helpless: ”Mighty Er Shu, we need to go level up. I don’t feel secure unless my level is maxed out.”

Er Shu proudly raised his head, then turned to crawl on the ground. Although he was pretty weak with no combat power, he loved hearing his Summoner say how awesome he was.

Demacia mounted Er Shu.

With a flap of wings, the duo shot out instantly, soaring into the night sky.

Demacia was a bit thrilled. Flying is what the Human Race has always desired, especially the Blue Star People. Though he was riding a rat, Demacia fantasized: as long as I imagine I’m doing sword flight, then what’s beneath me is just a sword shaped like a rat!

”Wuhu~”

”Squeak squeak squeak...”

With a spin in the air by Er Shu, both Demacia and his pet couldn’t help but cheer.

The warrior players below looked on in envy.

The night passed quickly, and after Demacia found another wild goblin and knocked it dead with his Magic Staff, he let out a long breath.

Glancing at the westward moonlight and the small increase in Experience Value, he considered this his night’s harvest.

Breathing in the fresh air, albeit with a hint of blood, he contentedly sighed, ”Even though you two aren’t very useful, I feel like my Summoner physique is super strong!”

He sighed, but there were no discontent squeaks from his side.

Demacia was stunned and instinctively turned his head to call: ”Er Shu?”

The jungle was empty, without a trace of the bossy bat.

He froze and quickly opened the summon list. Somehow, that bat had already gone five or six kilometers away.

Thinking of something, excitement gleamed in Demacia’s eyes. This rat is labeled as a Treasure-Seeking Rat in the Introduction!

Could it have found a treasure?

He excitedly ran in the direction of Er Shu; with fifteen agility, he ran swiftly, covering the six-kilometer distance in about eight minutes.

He gasped for breath and looked at Er Shu furiously digging a hole in front of him. He excitedly asked in a low voice, ”Er Shu, what’s up with you? Why’d you suddenly run off?”

”Squeak squeak squeak...”

”Oh? There’s something good, move over, let me handle it, my Magic Staff is very sturdy.”

”Squeak squeak squeak...”

”Hey, come on, what’s yours is mine? If there’s really something, how about using it to buy you something tasty?”

”Squeak squeak squeak...”

Seeing the suspicion on Er Shu’s face, Demacia patted his chest and promised, ”Don’t worry, when have I ever lied to you? Let me handle this.”

Er Shu slowly moved aside, choosing to trust his Summoner after all.

Demacia was full of excitement, licking his lips. The Treasure-Seeking Rat is finally making itself useful.

He promptly summoned Xiaomo. The moment Xiaomo appeared, both a bat and a Cannibal Flower were startled. The Cannibal Flower ran towards Demacia’s place, while the bat scampered off using all four limbs.

”Stop! There’s something tasty!”

Both froze in their tracks.

After skillfully taking out an Extraordinary-scented peach and some meat, Demacia finally got a shovel from Xiaomo, and then decisively dismissed the Cannibal Flower that was raring to go at him.

”Squeak squeak squeak...”

”Hehe, don’t sweat the details, Er Shu keep watch, tonight I’ll help you dig up the treasure.” Demacia chuckled as he lifted the shovel.

Not having a shovel when you own a Treasure-Seeking Rat isn’t right, is it?

And most of his belongings were in the Wood Spirit Realm. As long as Xiaomo is undying, it’s like carrying a portable space.

When it was four-thirty in the morning, the moonlight had descended, but the Sun hadn’t risen yet. This was the darkest time of night.

Demacia was enthusiastically breaking a sweat, continuously digging.

Ding~

When the sound of a metal clash rang out, Demacia’s face lit up with joy, and Er Shu, who was on lookout nearby, showed a human-like smile.

They both gazed at the bottom of the pit.

It seemed to be a door hidden a meter deep underground, and a flame appeared in Demacia’s hand illuminating a stone door.

”Uh, could this be a grave?”

”Squeak squeak squeak...”

”You can’t be a grave-stealing rat, can you? That’s unethical... but I like it!”

”Squeak squeak! Squeak?”

”Watch me!”

Demacia took up the shovel and began digging alongside. Once the stone door was fully exposed, he gently opened it, revealing the passageway behind it.

A chilling atmosphere gushed out, giving Demacia a shiver.

He hesitated a bit, looking at Er Shu: ”Maybe you should go back to your world first? I’ll summon you again when there’s no danger?”

Er Shu hesitated before lightly shaking his head, folding up his wings, and venturing into the passage first.

Demacia breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Er Shu was willing to go, it meant there was no danger.

This was well understood from previous events.

The passage led downward, and Demacia couldn’t help but marvel at how people in this world really loved constructing bases underground.

Soon they arrived in a dim room.

There were signs of chaos everywhere, as if the previous owner had left in great haste.

”Squeak squeak squeak...”

Er Shu’s voice sounded, and a burst of golden light flashed, turning Er Shu into a golden bat, dispelling the surrounding darkness.

”Whoa, since when did you have this ability? How come I didn’t know?”
