Chapter 333: Chapter 188: Night’s Counterattack

Tonight is not just a sleepless night for Dongwu City; many players who went offline have chosen to log back in due to the forum bombing.

Guard Brigade is one of them.

Even though it’s two in the morning now, he’s still organizing the final materials in reality, preparing to upload information about that Mysterious Town.

He also needs to organize the data about that mecha, although it seemed like no players were present at the time, nearly ten thousand pairs of eyes were watching the battle site.

Of course, players aren’t particularly surprised by things like mechas, after all, the Star Federation even has the Mechanical Celestial City, let alone the fact that nearly all high-tier alchemists have their own mechas.

But the mechas of the Star Federation belong to the Star Federation, and he also needs to organize data about Dawn’s mechas.

He’s not playing this game just to play; he enjoys delving deep into the background, which has always been his style.

However, Guard Brigade glanced at his revival time; he’s still a bit short of time before he can revive, so he continues to pull up the panel and proceed with video editing.

After the video editing is nearly done, his revival time is almost up.

When he comes out of his room, he stretches his body, feeling a bit sentimental; he’s never played such a fulfilling game.

Various histories and epics are dazzling, and every character has a story of their own.

He becomes increasingly convinced that this game is not a true game; currently, Blue Star’s technology couldn’t possibly achieve a game of this caliber.

His dream is to explore the game world, but now he seems to be able to change his dream: to explore this world!

”Yo, aren’t you supposed to be editing a video? How come you’re online so quickly?” Demacia greeted Guard Brigade with some surprise.

”New features are online, I’m going to check it out...” Guard Brigade said as he walked toward the nearby legion base.

Although it’s nighttime, there aren’t particularly few players, making the legion base seem quite noisy and crowded.

”Tsk, shortly after announcing the launch of this merit system in Dongwu City, almost every Zhong City announced its launch too, and the items that can be redeemed are all different,” Demacia tsk-tsks while looking at the forum: ”Indeed, while we’re playing the game, the game is also playing us.”

”This game is really twisted!”

This legion model is not much different from other legion models.

Players can apply for player legion positions; the NPCs only provide guidance and teach skills, everything else is up to the players themselves.

However, to become a legion commander, more money is needed, and once you have this identity, the legion commander also needs to purchase land for it to serve as their base.

And each base will have a quartermaster, instructor, and other NPCs stationed there.

Once everything is settled, you can recruit and train soldiers within the player camp, starting a force truly belonging to the players.

”This model is quite familiar, but the legion commanders in this game end up spending even more,” Guard Brigade remarked thoughtfully while looking at the rules: ”Yet from this rule, accepting the badge’s summon and slaughtering designated characters gives double points, it seems like Dongwu City wants to somewhat control the players.”

”Who cares, are players afraid of tasks?” Demacia said nonchalantly: ”Besides, hardly anyone will form those so-called legions; those are all guild professions.”

”Indeed...” Guard Brigade nodded; for ordinary players, the badge is what matters most, while the rest isn’t as crucial. Four legion bases mean defaulting to four legions.

After all, joining player legions doesn’t come with much better perks; truly, only the guilds might end up spreading it out.

”But legions aren’t without benefits; this game is very realistic, so if any players do form legions, their influence in this world would increase...” Guard Brigade paused mid-sentence.

Because someone on the forum posted a position—it was a well-established guild, and their badge not only secured a piece of land in the Outer City but also had construction rights there.

Additionally, the panel showed a surge in position and legend level, and there was even a title.

”Tsk, there’s also a title system?” Demacia was stunned and decisively abandoned previous ideas, eagerly watching Guard Brigade: ”So, how about you start a legion too? I’ll be your vice corps commander! That position seems quite useful!”

As they were chatting, it was time for them to pay.

Guard Brigade thought for a moment, then only took out ten gold coins, handed them to a silver middle-tier elf, took back the badge, recorded his fingerprint, and dropped one drop of blood before leaving with Demacia.

”No need, I’ve gotten used to going solo, at most in a small team; if there are too many people, it’s hard to manage. Legions are better for the guilds.”

Guard Brigade said as he walked toward the Inner City District.

”Where are you going?” Demacia asked, intrigued.

”Going to buy some history books and check out the black market for some information that isn’t online.”

”Making videos again? Then forget it, I’ll go on my own.” Demacia didn’t continue with Guard Brigade and instead headed out of the city.

Many players who had obtained a title were also heading out, eager to test the badge’s use.

Quite a few excellent items can be exchanged.

In a secluded corner, Demacia summoned Er Shu.

Once Er Shu appeared, it instantly became wary, glancing around the surroundings. After ensuring no one was around, it breathed a sigh of relief.

Seeing Demacia staring at it, Er Shu perked up abruptly, provocatively eyeing Demacia: ”Squeak, squeak, squeak...”
