Chapter 311: Chapter 178: Or: I Have an Elder Brother

[You killed a Level 63 Golden Boss, Experience Value +40,000, Extra Experience Value +40,000.]

[You obtained Golden-level Equipment, Shadow Blade.]

Returning to Dongwu City, Bodun descended onto the Inner City Wall, leaning wearily against it.

”Boss...”

Just as Mr. Baiyi was about to fly into the city, Bodun’s voice rang out.

”What’s the matter?”

”The thrusters on my wings seem to have aged a bit. Its energy core can’t supply the speed needed for extreme flight and started to draw on my Magic Power....”

Bodun’s voice was very tired and very cautious.

In just one day, it had taken those three teachers back, then flown overnight to the Capital City to fetch Mr. Baiyi, and finally returned to Dongwu City, covering a total straight-line distance of 120,000 kilometers; even a Bone Dragon would get tired.

Mr. Baiyi approached Bodun and checked the mechanical armor on its wings; the thruster’s energy core did indeed have some issues.

”I understand. Give it some time; I’ll call for you,”

Mr. Baiyi said, turning around and flying towards the quartermaster’s office area.

Bodun’s upgrade wasn’t urgent; its main purpose was as a means of transportation, and its firepower coverage could wait until suitable materials were found for an upgrade.

Arriving at the quartermaster’s office area.

Amid the respectful gaze of Quartermaster Stiss, Mr. Baiyi left a pile of equipment and then turned to head towards the Knowledge Hall.

This equipment belonged to members of the Black Night Rose, as well as the Golden Equipment just acquired.

The corps have a battle merits system, and all these can serve as incentives for the soldiers to arouse war intent.

Due to Federation policies, the lower levels actually have no sense of belonging to the Federation, so Mr. Baiyi never bothers to arouse the soldiers’ morale.

Because it’s useless, ordinary civilians and ordinary Transcendents hold more hatred towards the Federation.

Only the Talented above B-level would feel a sense of belonging to the Federation.

Because they are beneficiaries, and they do not have poor treatment anywhere, even in Dongwu City’s four major legions, Mr. Baiyi relies purely on strength.

But the selection for the legion still considers age, like those under twenty years old at the Silver level; they only need to sign up to enter, no need for any competition or even to enter elimination matches.

As for the notion that some smart people can understand the Federation’s intentions and consequently change their view of it....

That’s not possible!

Even if they understand, what good does it do? If you lack Talent, you can only be the one exploited, these fundamental interests have no turnaround possible.

Thus, Mr. Baiyi uses real Silver and Gold to allure the corps, rather than painting empty promises.

As long as one is powerful, they can have higher benefits!

Leaving the quartermaster’s residence, Mr. Baiyi thought for a moment; there was no need to pay too much attention to external affairs, as the war was temporarily resolved, and the players and corps could cope with those battles.

He needed to continue to enhance the combat power of the Modified Legion, and only after manufacturing ten thousand Exoskeleton Mechanical Devices would he consider other developments.

Because he had a premonition that the second trial from the Tower of Soul was approaching.

Entering the Knowledge Hall.

A Mechanical Life Form hurriedly ran up: ”Respected Mr. Baiyi, are you here to purchase knowledge or sell knowledge?”

”Purchase, search for Alchemy Potion Making related to souls, Mage Potionology, and methods of utilizing Soul Energy.”

”Alright, please hold on a moment.”

The screen on the Mechanical Life Form’s head flashed with garbled text, and everything recorded about Soul Science by the Federation appeared before him.

Mr. Baiyi searched a bit; the Alchemy knowledge he had already reviewed when manufacturing the Soul Purifying Potion, and no new Potion Making had been added during this period.

But the knowledge of Mages was different, with Mage systems even more extensive than those of Alchemists.

The Mage profession is the oldest profession and also the most fundamental profession on Xiya Continent.

The term ”Mage” existed from the very birth of the Ancient Gods and was initially used to describe the Elemental System Ancient Gods.

But as these Ancient Gods grew stronger, they felt the term was no longer befitting them, so they started referring to themselves as the Lord of something, or Sovereign, or even God.

This term then became a designation for those strong enough to wield Elemental Power.

Later on, as the world became more prosperous and thriving, with an increasing number of creatures, and as various major planes appeared, professions were divided into five major systems, with various smaller profession classifications.

This division prevented later generations from straying from their paths, allowing one to walk a single profession to the strongest.

Because when professions were unclear, there were many Mages who would throw a Lighting Technique and then engage in close combat, having wasted their Talent in the wrong places.

Thus, the Mage system is much more extensive than that of Alchemists.

And Mages exceed Alchemists in their research on souls, with many soul potions above having quite good effects.

Mr. Baiyi purchased some knowledge on the use of souls, as well as a very ancient and uniquely effective Magic Potion formula designed to enhance soul resilience.

This is also soul resistance, and such potions are quite rare.

The effects of this Mage potion are even a little better than Alchemy formulas of similar purpose, and having Heidinger help in its manufacture could save some time, giving Mr. Baiyi more freedom to attend to his own matters.

”Search, Divine Inscription.”

Mr. Baiyi continued to issue commands, the garbled text on the mechanical entity’s face reappeared, and soon, some information appeared on the mechanical entity’s face.

Mr. Baiyi carefully looked through it, feeling a bit disappointed. The information was all about Divine Inscription, but it was clear that it wasn’t the same as the Divine Text Mr. Baiyi had obtained.

He thought for a moment and continued: ”Search, Divine Text.”
