Chapter 301: Chapter 173: Military Merit System_2

”The legion must have its benefits, namely the battle merits exchange system.”

”In this battle merits exchange system, there need to be items not accessible to ordinary people, such as those potions with side effects I invented as the Finance Officer, or higher-tier mechanical equipment, expensive professional skills.”

”Even things like transformation slots, M-type L-type plus a mechanical transformation, the prices of these can be set at market value, but can only be exchanged with battle merits.”

”This way, the three legions of the major cities not only don’t need any military expenses but can also generate revenue while obtaining an Undead Legion.”

Baiyi finished his thoughts and smiled, asking, ”What do you all think?”

Sheda Fuer calmly asked, ”Still the same question, if we need them in wartime but they are all absent, what’s the point of this legion?”

Baiyi spread his hands, ”What have you given in return?”

”What?” Sheda Fuer looked puzzled.

”I said, what have you given in return for creating this legion?” Baiyi calmly explained.

”I will handle their battle merits system. Killing a Bronze Lower Tier enemy gives 2 battle merits, Middle Tier 4 battle merits, Upper Tier 6 battle merits, Silver Level up to 20 battle merits, and if the exchange rate of merits to Gold Coin is 10 to 1.”

”When the war ends, we just need the soldiers to clean up the battlefield, and the corpses of Transcendents should be enough to compensate for those battle merits, right?”

Baiyi asked, ”And even if they’re all absent in wartime, would you suffer a loss from creating such a legion?”

Sheda Fuer remained silent, the other legislators had contemplative looks in their eyes.

However, according to Baiyi’s plan, with a ten merits to one Gold Coin purchasing power, and being able to buy only designated items under this mechanism, indeed they would not suffer a loss.

”Agreed.” Metheus smiled and raised his hand.

The other legislators also raised their hands, as they had relatively little to lose in this, and could even earn something in the early stages.

Only in the long run would there be some minor losses, but is it really a loss? Players going out to hunt monsters would make the surroundings of the Federation more peaceful, and such an investment is no big deal.

Any outbreak of war could instantly reclaim these investments.

Therefore, including Sheda Fuer, nearly unanimously approved Baiyi’s proposal.

Metheus looked at these old men and said kindly to Baiyi, ”Then it’s up to you, just come up with a proposal, and we’ll follow your lead.”

”Okay, I’ll have my Finance Officer send the detailed plan to all of you.” Baiyi nodded, stood up from the main seat, and walked out.

He needed to find the Old Sword Saint, as the proposals in the council were minor matters. Even if other cities didn’t launch the battle merits system, Dongwu City would, but such moves to enhance the Federation’s overall combat capability must be undertaken.

Unfortunately, the Dawn Federation’s Legendaries are two Warriors, if only there were a Mage Legendary, Baiyi would have long proposed to connect Zhong City through teleportation arrays.

In that case, the entire Federation would be impregnable.

Zero: [Council content regarding the Marvel has been sent to Finance Officer Sabo.]

Zero: [Mr. Sabo responded: My dear Lord City Lord, the plan is ready, but the registration fee, I’m still contemplating, how about a hundred Gold Coins?]

Zero: [Responded: One-tenth.]

Zero: [Mr. Sabo responded: My friend, your proposal made us lose eighteen million.]

No longer minding Sabo, he walked out of the council, and the young lady was sitting bored on the steps with her hands supporting her head, her back giving off a lonely vibe.

Baiyi smiled as he approached, ”I’m going to see the Sword Saint, are you coming?”

Diane snapped back to reality, somewhat speechless, ”You didn’t mention it earlier, I’ve already had the Will Family start preparations....”

She spoke while getting up and pulling Baiyi, flying up into the air, heading west of the city, ”It doesn’t matter about time, let’s go, let’s go, if we miss this chance, who knows how long we’ll have to wait again.”

Flying is actually prohibited in the Capital City, after all, Mages have the ability to fly at Bronze, while Warriors and Assassins can run across roofs and walls at Silver.

If everyone were allowed to fly freely, this city with a population of four million, averaging a Transcendent per person, would be chaotic.

Of course, this ban is lifted once you reach Gold, as Gold individuals have privileges wherever they go.

And those below watching the strong individuals darting through the sky mostly had expressions of awe and envy in their eyes. ℯ

Only a few players eagerly wanted to chase these flying strong individuals, as having flight equals having a powerful ally, and once a task is accomplished, how could they not soar to success?

Baiyi did not refuse, letting the young lady lead him by the hand, feeling a bit sentimental about the Capital City’s prosperity, ”The Capital City is truly magnificent.”

The Capital City has four million Transcendents, whereas Dongwu City has less than 1.5 million, there’s still a long way to go.

Moreover, the buildings in the Capital are more magnificent, with science, nature, and architecture all present, and even some extremely rare plants are not uncommon, these are the estates of major families.

After all, there are several hundred Gold individuals in the Capital, and the Federation very much encourages them to settle down and take care of business, offering many perks for Gold enterprises.

In this world of Transcendents, the higher the level, the harder it is to have offspring, but once one reaches Gold, if the partner’s talent is not weak, the offspring usually have remarkable potential.

Originally, in the Capital, there were five top potential individuals; among these five, three were direct lineage members of Legislator Clans, and two were discovered from the populace and absorbed into the Legislator Clans.

This ratio already indicates that children of the strong, even if weak, aren’t too weak.

Thus, after Diane clearly expressed her dislike for Official Letters, the Di Feng Family didn’t explicitly prohibit that fellow from approaching Diane.

They are actually very happy to see top potentials combined with one another.

Arriving at the west of the city, there stood a vast estate, spanning about a three-kilometer diameter, comparable to some counties in the real world.

Major families with significant development are more or less like this, not for show, but because within such vast areas lie many things, such as Extraordinary Plants, house guards, and various resources, all in this one estate.

The Di Feng Family is even larger; the eastern side near the city walls is basically all Di Feng’s, and the Capital is much, much bigger than Dongwu City.

The two landed at the entrance, where the Will Family’s Attendant had been waiting for a while.

All major family estates have no-fly arrays overhead, and such arrays are quite common in the Capital; previously, when Diane flew with him, she also bypassed many buildings.

Most of those buildings had an aura of Gold.

”I tell you, not long ago, Patriarch Will led Kami and her brother out to hunt a Tier Two Legendary Dragon Leopard; the meat of that creature, combined with their addition of some Extraordinary Recipes, is sure to be an unforgettable experience for you this time.”

Diane said excitedly, with a glimmer at the corner of her mouth, suggesting she was a regular at the Will Family.

And why could the Will Family hunt Legendaries? A Divine Artifact is powerful, if Sessis’s Fake Divine Artifact wasn’t an Ancient Divine Artifact, he wouldn’t even exchange for an Exclusive Weapon.

Once acknowledged by a New Divine Artifact, tier-jumping combat won’t be an issue, of course, within reason, as a Level 76 Swordsman taking down an Level 82 Magical Beast is already impressive.

The Will Clan sustains the vast Will Family with this method of cultivation.

”Huh? Kami, you’re back, right? Is everything ready?” Diane asked eagerly.

Kami, still with red hair, looked rather aloof, but when facing Diane, even her aloofness melted, a slight smile touched her lips.

Even a Swordsman cannot resist the arrival of the God of Prosperity.

She looked at their clasped hands, her smile turning slightly teasing, ”It’s ready, just waiting for you... both to come, Baiyi City Lord, long time no see.”

Diane paused, naturally released Baiyi’s hand, moved forward and hugged Kami’s arm, and said enthusiastically, ”Enough with the formalities, let’s go, let this country bumpkin taste some good stuff.”

”Okay, let’s go then...”
