As the four of them think about how wrong they were, Sima Yi and Wannian finally at the pond where Wannian proceeds to ask Sima Yi what he wants to ask her needing them to go to a secluded area, Sima Yi who hears Wannian’s question takes a deep breath to calm himself, and he looks at Wannian with the most sincere look which surprised Wannian, as she never saw Sima Yi looking at her like that before.

Sima Yi: ”Sister Wannian, how long have the two of us know each other now?”

Wannian: ”Umm we have known each other more than 10 years now since you and your brother arrived at Xiapi, why do you ask this? Don’t tell me you forgot hihi, you’re smarter than me how could you forget?”

Sima Yi: ”Haha it’s not that I forgot, I just wanted to confirm that it’s been that long we have known each other, we could even be said to be childhood friends and today I would like to take a step forward to change that.”

Wannian: ”What? What are you trying to say, Sima Yi, if it’s about what My Father said in the past just ignore them, I’m sure that they are just trying to tease the two of us.”

Sima Yi: ”No Sister Wannian, it isn’t because of what the Old Lord said, this is what I wanted for many years now when I understand what love is, and the one that caused me to understand that is you.”

Wannian: ”S-Sima Yi! W-what are you s-saying?! I tell you if you u-use them to tease me, I will report you to my brother and father to have you punished!”

Sima Yi: ”No! Sister Wannian I’m not teasing you, what I’m saying is the truth! I fell in love with you when the Sun Clan visited us for the first time and proposed a marriage between you and one of the Sun Brothers, I was very angry when I heard that and that’s when I realized my feelings! So please allow me to pursue you and prove my sincerity to you!”

Wannian who was already flustered and in a blushing mess due to Sima Yi, turned even more red hearing Sima Yi’s confession, she actually looked at Sima Yi as a younger brother she protected from bullies.

But since the incident when her father suddenly opened the discussion to prepare for her marriage, and she suddenly blurted out Sima Yi’s name due to how shocking the situation was at the time, she began to see Sima Yi in a different light after that incident.

Seeing the serious and determined look on Sima Yi’s face, she was truly flustered doesn’t know how to respond to his question because it would be a lie that she wasn’t the least attracted to Sima Yi.

Sima Yi was very talented and had a handsome face, also he was very mature for his age and had a mysterious personality that could attract other people’s attention, lastly, he took care of her very well and did whatever she said or asked.

As Wannian is flustered about what and how she will reply to his confession, Sima Yi tries to reduce Wannian’s nervousness by saying that she doesn’t need to reply now, she could take her time to think of her reply through.

Listening to what Sima Yi had just said, Wannian shook her head and told him that she didn’t need time to think for herself, as she already had an answer in mind and that she hoped Sima Yi would accept whatever decision she had made.

Wannian’s words caused Sima Yi to be very nervous as he thought Wannian would reject him, and as he prepared himself for the pain and disappointment that would course through his heart, Wannian next words surprised him and caused him to be elated.

Seeing the nervous and even the look somewhat prepared to be hurt on Sima Yi’s face, Wannian let out a chuckle and told Sima Yi that she allowed him to pursue her, on the condition that he didn’t need to do anything excessive and just be himself.

Sima Yi nods his head very fast showing his understanding of Wannian’s request and accepts it ecstatically, seeing how happy Sima Yi looks Wannian doesn’t want to ruin his parade but she tells her that he needs to ask for his brother’s permission first, even though she agreed it doesn’t mean her brother would agree.

These words caused Sima Yi to least out a bright smile which surprised Wannian, thinking that Sima Yi didn’t take this seriously she scolded him, and told him that without the approval of her brother, his pursuit of her would never happen.

Seeing the angry look on Wannian’s face, Sima Yi couldn’t hold himself back from pinching her cheek and told her that Lie Fan had already given his approval, as without his approval he would never declare his intention to her.

Sima Yi’s action caused Wannian to blush so hard that all over her face even her neck turned red, she slapped Sima Yi’s hand and said to him that since her brother had approved, then she would like to see how Sima Yi would pursue her.

After saying that she turned around, and ran away trying to hide her embarrassment and hot cheeks, while Sima Yi let out a warm smile as he looked at Wannian’s back.

As in Xiapi seeds of love in the heart of two youngins began to blossom, far to the south at Changsha, the administrator of Changsha Han Xuan was pondering as to what decision he should make.

Whenever he chooses to join the Sun Clan, join Liu Bei, stay loyal to Liu Biao, or raise his won banner in Changsha and become an independent force.

Each choice has its own pros and cons, which is why he continues to ponder what kind of decision he should make, as his retainers were bickering and debating on what course of action he should take.

All of these retainers all loyal to Han Xuan, whether it was truly loyal or due to Han Xuan’s power at least these people were loyal to Han Xuan, and Liu Biao’s people had been swept out by Han Xuan.

Under Han Xuan, there were two powerful generals who held large influence in his military, which was Wei Yan and Yang Ling who advocated for Han Xuan to rise as an independent force and join the Suj Clan respectively.

If it was in the original timeline, Huang Zhong was also part of Han Xuan’s retainer during this time and could be said also Liu Biao’s retainer, but since Huang Zhong had joined Lie Fan early on there were only these two who could sway Han Xuan’s mind.

The two right now were in a heated debate, and each had their own supporters causing the hall to be in a ruckus due to the two of them.

Wei Yan was a rising star in Han Xuan’s military and many young retainers supported him, especially due to his fierce nature and prowess but he was treated very poorly by Han Xuan, which is why even though he held a large influence it was only on the young retainers, as they don’t hold large or powerful positions.

Yang Ling, on the other hand, was already a senior general even though his age wasn’t that old yet and many of the older retainers supported him, especially those who held large or powerful positions.

Yang Ling: ”General Wei Yan, you’re young and brash so understand that your suggestion for My Lord to raise his own banner is so that you could fight many opponents, but that wasn’t a perfect path for My Lord since he cared for the people of Changsha and that path would only bring suffering.”

Wei Yan: ”You?! General Yang Ling watch your words! I have never said that I prosper that so that I could fight many opponents! I propose that because I think it was the best course of action, for My Lord to do whatever he won’t for the people of Changsha without caring or waiting for any approval.”

Yang Ling: ”But from how fiercely you advocated this plan, that wasn’t what I and the rest of us captured. Even if what you said is true, we still couldn’t proceed on that path, because we then would be surrounded by powerful enemies from all sides.”

Wei Yan: ”Then we could ally ourselves with the Sun Clan or Liu Bei or even Shi Hui and Shi Wu to our south, I’m sure that Liu Biao at least wouldn’t do any move to us and people who were our ally, have to think twice on attacking us when we have our ally!”

Yang Ling: ”That unfortunately just a dream General Wei Yan, because no one would agree to be allied with us, because we are a large piece of meat that was waiting to be eaten the moment we separate ourselves from Liu Biao.”

Wei Yan: ”That! That pessimistic mind is why we had never made any decision after several meetings and only caused Our Lord to”

Han Xuan: *bam*”Alright that’s enough! I’m tired of listening to the two of you bickering in my ears! I have made my decision after some careful thinking for this past couple of days and we will join the Sun Clan!”

Han Xuan who had grown irritated by all the ruckus that was caused by both Wei Yan and Yang Ling slammed the handle of his chair, which silenced the room and then he announced his decision.

Hearing the decision Han Xuan had just announced, Yang Ling and his supporters let out a loud cheer and praised Han Xuan that It was the best decision he made from many possibilities.

As for Wei Yan and his supporters, they were disappointed and showed it by their grumbling and small protests, but that’s all they could do because, in terms of the position and power they held, they couldn’t be compared to Yang Ling and his supporters.

Especially Wei Yan who doesn’t hold any office except for the rank of a General, which was granted by Han Xuan due to him not having any competent generals except for Yang Ling.

Holding no position and power to protest against Han Xuan, Wei Yan could only push his boiling anger down because from the start of the meeting until the end he was never even once asked by Han Xuan what opinion he had, he could only squeeze himself in any of the discussion, and unbeknownst to Han Xuan who ordered Yang Ling to draft their reply to the Sun Clan that his bad treatment to Wei Yaj would be his end in the future.
