Hearing this, both Huo Jun and Lu Gong who were constantly being ill treated by Cai Mao and ignored by Liu Biao were touched to the core as there is a Lord as kind as Liu Bei, and without further ado, they immediately swore their allegiance to Liu Bei, causing Liu Bei who hear this smiled happily while coming forward to help them stand up as they kneel to swore their allegiance to Liu Bei.

Seeing that Liu Bei came forward to help them stand up, both Huo Jun and Lu Gong directly stood up from their position and told Liu Bei that there was no need for him to come forward and help them personally.

Liu Bei hearing this using all of his skill in acting, said to both Huo Jun and Lu Gong that as a Lird it was his responsibility to ensure that all of his subjects were taken care of and received the same equal treatment.

These words instantly touched Huo Jun and Lu Gong’s words even causing them to memorize them inside their hearts, because they were never treated fairly under Liu Biao’s administration before.

Due to the presence of Li Yan who was a rising star, Huang Zu, Wen Pin, and Liu Pan, the two of them were never treated fairly, especially with Cai Mao becoming the Head General at the time.

When the four most prized generals under Liu Biao’s administration are gone either due to being captured or betraying Liu Biao, the two of them finally have the chance to step up but with Cai Mao at the helm, they keep being suppressed.

Seeing the captivated look of Huo Jun and Lu Gong, Liu Bei felt satisfied especially his ego being fulfilled. With Huo Jun and Lu Gong swearing their allegiance to Liu Bei, Liu Bei’s military power was upgraded with their addition.

Liu Bei then brought everyone to the Governor’s Castle Main Hall, where he asked Kuai Yue, Kuai Liang, Wang Xiu, and Ju Shou about how can they save Huo Jun and Lu Gong’s Family in Jiangling.

The four of them turn to look at each other to see if anyone already has an idea, and Kuai Liang steps forward as he already has a plan to rescue Huo Jun and Lu Gong’s family in Jiangling.

He proposed that they send letters to Huo Jun and Lu Gong’s family that they wanted to immigrate from Jiangling to another Town maybe Changsha, and they already have men stationed at the Yangtze River to save them.

The men stationed at Jiangling needed to be led by a general who could be swift, quiet, and knew about the area well, so he proposed that it will be either Huo Jun or Lu Gong do this mission because Liu Bei’s other generals didn’t know the area well and not all of them could be quiet.

Liu Bei: ”Hmm I agree with Kuai Liang’s suggestion, what do the others think? Do you agree with what he has suggested?”

Ju Shou: ”Yes My Lord, I agree with what Master Kuai Liang has just suggested. Maybe some additional suggestion, we could also use the last bits of our spies inside Liu Biao’s current administration to help us smuggle out General Huo Jun and Lu Gong’s family.”

Kuai Yue: ”Master Ju Shou’s suggestion makes sense, My Lord if you give your permission I will immediately contact my connections who still have a great relationship with me to help us smuggle out General Huo Jun and Lu Gong’s family.”

Liu Bei: ”I gave you my permission Kuai Yue, since we all agree with this plan then I want to ask both General Huo Jun and Lu Gong, between the two of you who want to lead the unit that will escort both of your families?”

Huo Jun: ”I think it’s better for Brother Lu Gong who leads the unit, he has much more experience and knows the area better than me, what do you think Brother Lu Gong?”

Lu Gong: ”If you don’t have any problem with me leading the unit Huo Jun and My Lord, then I gladly accept this mission for the safety of my family and Huo Jun’s family.”

Hearing Lu Gong’s statement, Huo Jun nods his head indicating that he doesn’t have any problem, and Liu Bei seeing this instantly gives the order that Lu Gong will lead the unit to escort the families after reading Yangtze River, as for Kuai Yue he would coordinate with their remaining contacts in Jiangling to help this plan to succeed.

Receiving Liu Bei’s order, everyone cupped their hand and immediately left to prepare for this plan because even though the main order was given to Lu Gong and Kuai Yue, the others still needed to help them prepare to raise the success of the plan.

Liu Bei seeing everyone leaving the hall to do their assignment or task, sitting on the main chair could finally feel the power once again after losing it for so long when Qing Province was usurped from him.

Now everything was going according to his plan smoothly, given enough time for him to grow and defeat Liu Biao once and for all, with Jing Province in his grasp, he was sure that he could face either Cao Cao or Lie Fan confidently.

Where he slowly defeats his nemesis one by one and then begins to defeat the other Warlords that he doesn’t care about, well he still somewhat cares about Liu Zhang but he cares about his land and not the lord.

He envisioned that maybe after defeating Liu Biao and gaining control over Jing Province if his power weren’t still enough to face either Cao Cao or Lie Fan, he would usurp Yi Province from Liu Zhang’s hand.

He has heard about Liu Zhnag’s incompetence and how he was only a puppet for the Noble Clans of Yi Province, so he feels that he has a high chance of taking Yi Province from him in the future.

While Liu Bei was dreaming of the future he wanted in Xiangyang, at Xiapi Lie Fan was having a meeting with Lu Su who had requested to meet him to discuss the invitation Lie Fan had given to him.

Lie Fan was accomplished by Jia Xu and Sun Qian, who became closer to Lu Su while Lu Su was staying in Xiapi, where they managed to become friends with Lu Su.

This is an important step for Lie Fan because now he has a bargaining chip in his invitation to Lu Su, he doesn’t how a man like Jia Xu who was known for his poisonous method could befriend Lu Su but he wouldn’t blame the process as long the result was what he wanted.

Lie Fan: ”Sir Lu Su, thank you for agreeing to meet me at my office and I apologize that we could have this meeting at the Serenity Inn just like what you have requested.”

Lu Su: ”No it’s okay Lord Lie Fan I understand that you were very busy, seeing the construction that was being done on such a large scale, I admire you more because you wanted to do the work while many Lords not all of course will gave this to their retainers to handle all of it.”

Lie Fan: ”Haha Sir Lu Su’s praise is too high, just like what you have just said there are other Warlords that are just like me, like Cao Cao and Brother Wentai the two of them are the same as me.”

Lu Su: ”Lord Lie Fan is too humble, ahem well then let’s get to the main topic. The reason as to why I wanted to meet with Lord Lie Fan is concerning the invitation you gave to me several weeks ago.”

Lie Fan: ”Ah I see, looks like Sir Lu Su has made your decision or there are some that still need to be persuaded for you.”

Lu Su: ”I have already made my decision, afterseiekbg how you conducted in your Court and your Government administration, and the Academy you sponsored I can say that I was very interested in understanding all of this better, and the atmosphere was very conducive and happy, so Lu Su have seen My Lord.”

After Lu Su finished his word, he stood up and cupped both of his hands toward Lie Fan and bowed to him swearing his allegiance to Lie Fan.

Hearing Lu Su’s decision, Lie Fan let out a happy laugh and said welcome to Lu Su, and thank you for accepting his invitation, both Jia Xu and Sun Qian on Lie Fan’s side congratulated Lie Fan for gaining a great advisor and also congratulate Lu Su to finally found his tree to perch on.

While Jia Xu and Sun Qian were talking with Lu Su, Lie Fan used the eye of Erlang Shen to see young Lu Su’s stats at this time.

• Lu Su

INT: 799 WIS: 96 VIT: 80 CHR: 92

Young Lu Su’s stats were very satisfying for Lie Fan, and Lu Su joining him means that he has another top advisor at his disposal with three future top advisors was still nurtured by many top advisors.

The more top advisors he gained, the more Lie Fan could rest assured that his future plans would go well because the biggest variable that could change the direction of his plan was a top advisor who stood in his way.

Because advisors are much harder to handle than generals, they understand their physical weaknesses and so to cover that they would create scheme after scheme to protect themselves and their family.

Also, they could direct or influence a Warlord to have a leveled playing field with him, just like Cao Cao who had three top advisors at his disposal which were Xun Yu, Xi Zhicai, and Guo Jia.

He doesn’t take Liu Bei in his eyes because he hasn’t enlisted a single top advisor from this era, yes the Kuai Brothers and Ju Shou could be considered great advisors but they aren’t part of the top ones.

He only hoped that in the future, Xu Shu and Pang Tong wouldn’t join Liu Bei’s side because once you’re captured by Liu Bei’s charm and eloquent words, it would be hard to persuade them to his side.

While he was thinking that, Lu Su came forward after finishing his talk with Jia Xu and Sun Qian and asked Lie Fan for some off days as he wanted to escort the crop to his granaries and pick up his grandma to stay at Xiapi, and Lie Fan who has this immediately agree even assigning two of his bodyguards to keep Lu Su’s Grandma safe, Lu Su was grateful hearing this and swore that he would repay Lie Fan’s kindness with all of his talent.
