Xun Yu who was working in his office, was surprised by the arrival of the bird and after taking the letter he immediately read it, where surprise turned to joy after reading the content inside the letter. He didn’t expect that Jia Kui managed to persuade Han Sui, to not only cooperate but also to swear his allegiance to Cao Cao, so holding the letter he immediately left his office to see Cao Cao to report the good news.

Cao Cao was inside his office, receiving a report from Guo Jia and Xi Zhicai who were reporting the result of around 1 and a half weeks of brainstorming by the two to create two strategies that Cao Cao requested.

Currently, Guo Jia is illustrating the strategy where Han has agreed to cooperate with them. The strategy started with Han Sui declaring his intention to challenge Ma Teng once again, distracting Ma Teng from fortifying his defense in Chang’An.

When Han Sui managed to distract Ma Teng, Cao Cao’s Army under the leadership of Cao Ren, Xu Huang, and Zhang Ji would cross Tong Gate and head toward Chang’An under the cover of the night.

Why at night, because it’s to minimize the chances of them being found out and minimize the range of visibility Ma Teng’s patrols have, so that if they ever encounter one they could wipe them out first.

Then when Xi Zhicai wanted to continue explaining the plan to Cao Cao, a guard interior them and informed them that Xun Yu was requesting permission to enter, as he had something to report to Cao Cao.

Hearing this Cao Cao told the guards to allow Xun Yi to enter, and soon Xun Yu entered the office after the guard informed him that Cao Cao allowed him to enter.

Seeing that there were Guo Jia and Xi Zhicai present at the office, after greeting Cao Cao, Xun Yu then apologized for interrupting the activities that Cao Cao, Guo Jia, and Xi Zhicai were undertaking.

Both Guo Jia and Xi Zhicai said it was not a problem whatsoever, and Guo Jia then said that they knew Xun You would never interrupt them if it weren’t for an important matter.

Cao Cao agreed with what Guo Jia said and told Xun Yu that it was not a problem, then he continued by asking Xun Yu what is it that he wanted to inform him.

Xun Yu: ”My Lord, I have received a letter from Jia Kui that reported the result of his meeting with Han Sui at Anding.”

Cao Cao: ”Truly?! What does the letter contain? Is he successful in convincing Han Sui to cooperate with us?”

Xun Yu: ”Not only he is successful My Lord, I could say that he gave us a very great result! He not only managed to confuse Han Sui to work with us, but he also managed to persuade Han Sui to submit to us and you’re his allegiance to My Lord!”

Cao Cao: ”Really?! Haha! I never expected this to happen! Jia Kui truly has great talent, for managing to convince Han Sui to do so was very astonishing!”

Guo Jia: ”Congratulations My Lord! Now not only Han Sui would cooperate with us, but he also swore his allegiance to My Lord allowing us to gain a large number of talented generals and a big army for us to use in Liang Province in the future!”

Cao Cao: ”Good Good! I have long heard that Han Sui has Eight talented Cavalry Generals under him, having them on our side could increase the combat power of our cavalry units! By the way, how does Jia Kui manage to convince Han Sui, and also how large Han Sui’s current Army was?”

Xun Yi: ”He doesn’t describe it in detail but he said that My Lord’s gift and promotions okayed a large part and that Han Sui himself showed his interest, he only capitalized on the opportunity that was present.”

Xi Zhicai: ”As for the number of Han Sui’s men, currently after being defeated by Ma Teng he has around 50,000 men My Lord, from 125,000 men where around 75,000 men were taken by Ma Teng to increase his men from 125,000 men to 200,000 men.”

Cao Cao: ”I see, it’s good that Jia Kui manages to capitalize on the opportunity present. Also, will Han Sui’s 50,000 men could bolster our strategy to defeat Ma Teng?”

Guo Jia hearing Cao Cao’s question nodded his head and informed Cao Cao that while 50,000 was not much, it was Han Sui’s elite units and he calculated that Han Sui could increase his army to 75,000 men with the size of the domain he currently holds.

Hearing this news Cao Cao was happy and ordered that Jia Kui be rewarded and promised for his effort and that Han Sui would be assigned as the Inspector of Liang Province for him in the future after they managed to defeat Ma Teng.

He also requested for Guo Jia and Xi Zhicai to revise the plan according to the changes that had just happened and to report to him when it was done.

The two cupped their hand toward Cao Cao recycling his order, while Xun Yu was mulling over what kind of reward and promotion Jia Kui should receive.

Cao Cao in Xuchang received a piece of good news and his plan began to underway a positive start, far away from the Northeast at the border of China, Zhang Liao and Gongsun Gong continued their fight against the Goguryeos.

The failure of the Goguryeo’s main general of capitalizing on the opportunity to cripple Zhang Liao and the Bingzhou Wolf cavalry proved to be a very horrible thing for them.

After Zhang Liao and the Bingzhou Wolf cavalry managed to slip out from the formation of the Goguryeo Army, Zhang Liao led the Bingzhou Wolf cavalry to pick up the Goguryeo’s soldiers that were on the outer side of the formation.

While that was happening, Gao Shun also headed out leading his Formation Breaker Unit to attack the Goguryeos.

Gao Shun does so because he wants to continue weakening the Goguryeo’s combat power, at first, they planned to hold out and for the Goguryeo’s Army to regroup into one big army before clashing with them.

But after seeing that they managed to trap Zhang Liao and the Bingzhou Wolf cavalry, Gao Shun realized that they underestimated the Goguryeo’s combat power and strategic mind.

So after giving command of the army to Gongsun Gong, he heads out to support Zhang Liao’s endeavor. Zhang Liao was surprised by the sudden changes in the plan, but he fully trusted Gao Shun and that whatever changes being made were needed.

Gao Shun’s Formation Breaker Unit previously amounted to around 5,000 men but after joining Lie Fan, he was requested by Lie Fan to increase them to around 15,000 men so Gao Shun did so.

The increase of 10,000 men disrupted their combat power for a while, but under Gao Shun’s training and leadership, they managed to return to their normal combat power, even exceeding it and becoming even more powerful.

Seeing the incoming 15,000 men, the Goguryeo’s main general decided to hold and let them come, preparing this man for a defensive battle, and once again this was a bad move because Gao Shun and his unit caused a large blow to the Goguryeo’s formation.

The name of Formation Breaker wasn’t for nothing, Gao Shun showed why his unit lived up to its name and at the expense of the Goguryeo’s soldiers being killed left and right, which caused the Goguryeo’s formation to almost collapse.

At this time when the Main General of the Gogiuryeo’s Army almost lost hope for any chance of survivability for his army, several kilometers from his location in two directions large army was heading to them.

It was the other Goguryeo’s Army around the area, that was arriving after receiving the letter requesting their help from their Main General.

The Goguryeo’s main general receiving this information was ecstatic and began to order his army to hold out as best as they could, as their reinforcement had arrived and on their way to support them.

Gao Shun and Zhang Liao also received this piece of news, knowing that the number would not be in their favor the two ordered their unit to retreat back to their Army Encampment.

Seeing this the Goguryeo’s main general tried to keep them by ordering his men to hinder their retreat, but unfortunately, their combat power couldn’t stop them.

When the Goguryeo’s reinforcement finally arrived, both Gao Shun and Zhang Liao alongside their unit managed to retreat safely to their Army encampment.

The Goguryei’s main general was happy seeing his comrade had finally arrived to save him because after doing a census of 50,000 men he had previously, he had around 30,000 men remaining.

This was a huge blow to him and the Goguryeo Kingdom, fortunately with the arrival of the rest of the Goguryeo’s army with heavy numbered around 50,000 men also, they bolstered their number to 130,000 men.

He believes that he could take on the Han Army with this number, because in his mind the combat power of the Han Army would still be the same as the previous one, with only Zhang Liao and Gao Shun’s unit as an exception.

He doesn’t realize that his thoughts would be the cause of defeat for him and his army, which would cause large setbacks for the Goguryeo Kingdom.

After holding a meeting with his comrades, generals, and advisors, they came up with a plan of attack to take down Zhang Liao and Gao Shun’s Army encampment which was made like a defensive formation.

Remembering Zhang Liao’s movement attack with his cavalry, the Goguryeo’s main general decided to utilize the same tactics used by Zhang Liao and order his cavalry to set out first while the main army followed from behind.

This movement was seen by Zhang Liao, Gao Shun, and Gongsun Gong from their encampment, Zhang Liao laughed seeing this because he never expected that the Goguryeos would be blinded by their own ego, and use the same tactics that he used.

What the Goguryeos don’t know is that his tactic base form was the combat power of the cavalry, something that the Goguryeo’s cavalry doesn’t have in his mind, and soon enough it was proven by how ineffective was the Goguryeo’s cavalry in trying to weaken Zhang Liao and Gongsun Gong’s army, it even reversed with them gaining large amount casualties causing the Goguryeo’s main general ordering them to retreat.
