Ju Shou agreed with Wang Xiu but added that before truly launching a full scale underground movement, Liu Bei should persuade Liu Qi to his side since Liu Qi’s support to him will make Liu Bei had some legitimacy to rule Jing Province in the eyes of the people, and when Liu Bei wanted to ask how to persuade Liu Qi to his side, Ju Shou takes out some letters and said to Liu Bei that it contains evidence of Liu Biao and the Cai Clan choosing Liu Cong as the heir and not Liu Qi anymore.

Liu Bei received the letters and opened them right then and there, he skipped some of the pleasantries words at the top and headed straight toward the main information in the letter.

He saw how Liu Biao was finally persuaded by Cai Mao and Lady Cai to change the heir to Liu Cong and relinquish Liu Qi from the title since Liu Qi was his eldest son Liu Biao had given him the title of the General Who Guard The North.

This title sounds fancy and prestigious but Liu Bei knows that the moment Liu Cong succeeded his Father, Liu Qi’s title could be taken back by Liu Cong easily since Liu Biao didn’t put any special power or leverage on Liu Qi’s title.

This means Liu Cong could do anything he wanted without consequences or retaliation from Liu Qi who was deprived of his position and power, then combined with the Cai Clan reigning supreme over Jing Province Liu Qi would definitely be squished out.

His hand was trembling in excitement and his face turned red due to him trying to hold back his excitement, but everyone in the room perceived it as Liu Bei being angry at the information that was written in the letters.

They sigh thinking that Liu Bei is too compassionate toward Liu Qi, even though Liu Bei and Liu Biao share the blood of Han, their line was very far it could even be said that they were distant distant cousins.

So it could be said that they were strangers and that if there was no chaos at this point in time and no yellow turbans or Dong Zhuo, Liu Bei would still be a straw sandal maker and seller, and would not have the chance to show his identity, as no one would ever believe him.

While everyone was thinking about this, Liu Bei managed to calm himself down and told Ju Shou alongside Wang Xiu that while this is important, how could he tell Liu Qi about this matter without hurting his heart.

Ju Shou and Wang Xiu were stunned for a moment but then replied to Liu Bei’s question by saying that there’s no amount of kind or eloquent words that could minimize the damage, but a presence beside the person who receives the news to support is very important.

Liu Bie nods his head when he receives Ju Shou and Wang Xiu’s words, for him fencing the whole world is a simple manner let alone ’supporting’ a young man who was crestfallen when he receives the news of his father relinquished his title as his heir and changed to his younger brother.

After thinking about that, Liu Beu then told Ju Shou and Wang Xiu to truly oversees that everything is truly ready and wait for his signal, as he needs to approach Liu Qi more intimately than before and prepared Liu Qi for the heavy new he would tell him and then persuade his to support Liu Bei.

Even though he was in a hurry, afraid that Lie Fan and Sun Jian would swallow Jing Province before he could even rule Jing Province, he understood that what they would do needed time, and Ju Shou alongside Wang Xiu hearing what Liu Bei said gave their agreement.

With that, the secret meeting was dismissed by Liu Bei, as he didn’t want to hold the meeting for too long lest they invite Liu Qi, Liu Pan, and Fu Xun suspicion which he didn’t want to do as it could severely impact the progress of their movement.

After everyone leaves the room, Lou Bei keeps hold of the letters in his hand that were given by Ju Shou and Wang Xiu, thinking that it was the key to his rise once again and causing him to fall into a fantasy dream of his own.

While Liu Bei was trapped in his own thoughts, in You Province, Taishi Ci and Zhang Liao led their army to meet with Lie Fan where they conquered and consolidated Lie Fan’s control over Xuantu County that they passed by to reach Xiangping County.

When they entered Xiangping County, they received a letter from a raven that was sent by the Oriole, and it contained information that Lie Fan was forgiving himself in a town south of Gongsun Du’s Capital by several hundreds of kilometers and that they should head there according to Jia Xu’s instruction.

There’s no more information or any indication as to why Lie Fan suddenly decided to hole up in that town, but since it was an instruction for Jia Xu himself, and they were told to head there then they could only be there immediately as Lie Fan is waiting for them.

At the exact same time as Taishi Ci and Zhang Liao heading toward Lie Fan’s location alongside their army, Gongsun Du finally sent out his expeditionary forces to support his eldest son.

No not finally sent out, but after forcing his generals to immediately head out as his pain is to let them rest for a couple of days not more than a week, he realizes that some of his generals have grown their egos, and needed to be taught a lesson.

So after some reshuffling and light punishment here and there, they finally become honest and obedient and immediately head out under Gongsun Du’s order, not knowing that Gongsun Kang has been captured and that the town has fallen to Lie Fan’s hand.

200,000 of Gongsun Du’s men head toward Gongsun Kang’s location, where some of the generals grumble about Gongsun Du’s behavior, which causes them to be slightly irritated but it is just that and no more bad thoughts or feelings.

To them, Gongsun Du has allowed them to attain the rank and power they have today, so they are grateful to him, and even though Gongsun Du can be harsh, it is according to the situation and he was mostly a calm person.

With that in mind, they spent around 2 weeks before they finally reached the town where Gongsun Kang was staying, when they saw the sight of the town they were alarmed by the banner that was flattering on the wall with the word Lie.

Gongsun Du’s generals immediately realize that they are in a bad situation, as the fall of the town means that Gongsun Kag was either captured or killed by Lie Fan, so without further ado under their instruction their men begin to form their formation.

Fortunately, they brought some materials that could be used to create a battering ram and have the siege unit Immediately create the battering ram, while Gongsun Du’s army was preparing to siege the town, their arrival didn’t go unnoticed by Lie Fan and his army.

Lie Fan was standing on the wall alongside his advisors, generals, and bodyguards, looking upon the 200,000 men of Gongsun Du’s Army, while he was outnumbered in terms of siege warfare, his army was more than adequate in terms of number, as for experience his army far outmatch Gongsun Du’s.

Lie Fan: ”Wenhou, how long will Ziyi and Wenyuan reach us?”

Jia Xu: ”General Taishi Ci and General Zhang Liao will arrive in about 5 days, My Lord.”

Lie Fan: ”Alright then we just need to defend and stall Gongsun Du’s Army, and when both Ziyi and Wenyuan arrive then we will exterminate Gongsun Du’s Army, leaving him to have no more army to fight against us.”

Xun You: ”Yes My Lord, if I may suggest we should also be cautious as we never know if something could happen that sway luck from our side.”

Chen Gong: ”While Master Xun You exaggerated with his words, I agree that we should be cautious, especially with the experience I have before.”

Lie Fan: ”Haha Gongtai, your experience before was not about luck even though it was a bit harsh, it was destiny or the path you and Lu Bu had to embark on.”

Lu Lingqi: ”Bastard Lie Fan you mean My father was destined to die? Humph! You promised to protect his family, but here you are bad-mouthing him.”

Lie Fan immediately regretted saying those words as he momentarily forgot that Lu Lingqi was amongst them and true enough, hearing what he said about her father Lu Lingqi was angered and retaliated.

After Lu Lingqi finished what she said, she realized that she shouldn’t have said that as right now she was standing with Lie Fan’s retainers and not just the two of them like usual.

Fortunately for her everyone here already thought that Lu Lingqi would become their fourth madam so they were silent, thinking that they had a couple quarrels and that they as the subordinates could only be silent.

When Lie Fan wanted to reply to Lu Lingqi’s statement, he suddenly saw that Gongsun Du’s army was marching toward the town in full formation, deciding to not reply to Lu Lingqi’s statement he ordered his army to enter a defensive formation according to the strategy given by Xun You and Chen Gong.

Lie Fan already adorned in his armor and holding his halberd stayed on the wall alongside his bodyguards much to the dismay of Jia Xu, Xun You, and Chen Gonv who try to persuade Lie Fan to not participate in the battles.

Lu Lingqi was standing beside Lie Fan in her unit, after witnessing Lie Fan’s strength during the previous siege battle, she began to realize truly why her father saw Lie Fan as a threat and rival before.

While thinking about that, she saw Gongsun Du’s Army shit arrows upon them and she raised a shield that she holds momentarily to block the arrows, but then she saw Lie Fan just like her father before, block the arrows using his halberd.

This surprised her as she had never seen anyone who could do this except for her father, of course, in her mind, Huang Zhong and Dian Wei could do it but not Lie Fan, and now she saw Lie Fan do it the exact same as her father. While thinking so, ladders rose to the wall and Lu Lingqi seeing this threw away her thoughts as she began to focus on the battle in front of her.
