Jia Xu replied by saying that Lie Fan and his army, they need to continue at the planned pace, while Zhang Liao and Taishi Ci their pace needed to be fastened so that they could reach Xiangping County as fast as possible, so that get could regroup into one big army to face off against Gongsun Du at Liaodong, which will become the battle to decide who’s the victor and who’s the loser of this war.

Lie Fan nodded his head in agreement and told Jia Xu to relay this to Gao Shun and Bu Zhi, while he informed Xun You and Chen Gong of the changes in their plan to adapt the movement Gongsun Du will to counter them.

Jia Xu left Lie Fan’s tent to write the letters and send them to Bu Zhi and Gao Shun, while Lie Fan stayed inside his tent and took out the Vision Map from his inventory before putting it on the table.

He sees Gongsun Du’s expeditionary force one in the North while the other battling in the Southeast, where they were in a skirmish against Goguryeo whom he knows as the strongest Korean Kingdom in this period, which continues to dominate and even expand its size surviving the Cao Wei and Jin Dynasty era.

It reached its golden age in 476 AD when its territories included three fourths of the Korean Peninsula, including what is now Seoul, almost all of Manchuria, and parts of Inner Mongolia.

He sees that the skirmishes were normal ones, and he concludes that the rebellion in Goguryeo hasn’t started yet as Balgi, the elder brother of King Sansang of Goguryeo, staged a rebellion and gained the support of Gongsun Du.

He doesn’t remember for sure when but it’s between this year and next year, for now, it was a normal battle of expansion which he feels fortunate as this means he can make Gongsuj Du win the battle against Goguryeo and expand much earlier.

If he managed to defeat Goguryeo early, then they would not have reached the height of their power as he planned to eliminate the royal family of Goguryeo to prevent the descendants that would bring them to their golden age from being born.

While it’s bloody, he does this so that his dynasty can reign for a long time in the future, his smallest target is for 500 years of reign like the Han Dynasty but he wanted it to even become like modern-day England which leads its commonwealth.

Of course, that’s his dream for the future, but now he needs to accomplish many things before it can be reached, while thinking so, his tent was suddenly entered by a guest and when he looked up he saw Lu Lingqi standing across him.

Lu Lingqi was wearing her armor and her helmet which had the same two long red string-like feathers, the same as what Lu Bu had on his helmet. Seeing her, Lie Fan asks her if is there something she wants to talk about as she enters her tent without even announcing herself.

Lu Lingqi’s face turned slightly red when he heard what Lie Fan said, but soon it was gone because she asked Lie Fan why she and her units were put in the middle of the formation most of the time, she wanted to be on the frontline alongside him or the other generals.

Lie Fan sighed he knew sooner or later Lu Lingqi would come to complain, he understood why she protested but the reason he did this was that he received some report from Jia Xu that some soldiers had begun to feel uncomfortable with the presence of Lu Lingqi and her units.

Especially with them being much stronger and more coordinated than the normal soldiers, when Lie Fan received his report he knew that he needed to have Lu Lingqi and her unit in a low profile for a while.

It’s not that he wanted to suppress her, but to allow the soldiers more time to let reality sink in that the women could do the same as them or even much more, slowly having them abandon the previous ideology of women just need to stay at home.

He knew that if he wanted to have a long-lasting Dynasty, he needed all of the population to contribute especially the commoner’s class which was the backbone of the economy with the massive population of this class.

Lie Fan: ”Hah.. it’s not that I intentionally suppress you and your unit Young Lady Lu, but there’s been talks among the soldiers, where they discriminate the presence of you and your unit due to all of you being a woman.”

Lu Lingqi: ”What?! I thought they had acknowledged us after our previous achievements and contributions before you relegated us to the middle rank of the formation!”

Lie Fan: ”It’s not as simple as you think Young Lady Lu, the brighter you and your unit become the more they will envy what you have achieved, and bad thoughts like why a woman could achieve that while they can’t will be brewing and then it will turn into either becoming discouraged or intolerance which will impact not only you, but other woman’s as well.”

Lu Lingqi: ”If they have that kind fi thought that means they aren’t worthy of becoming a soldier! A soldier should be stoic and protect all of the people under their Lord!”

Lie Fan: ”Young Lady Lu I agree with what you think, k but not many people of this era have such thinking especially with how deeply rooted Confucian teaching is, only a very small amount of people have such thinking, and even much smaller of these people hold high power or position.”

Lu Lingqi: ”But in my Father’s Army all of the soldiers accepted me and my unit for what I am! Their comrade and brother or sister in arms who will have your back on the battlefield!”

Lie Fan sighed he understood Lu Lingwi’s frustration, and he explained to her how it was in his father’s army where he was the ruler and she was the princess, so of course they would accept reluctantly at first, but changed their mind after knowing her nature and personality.

Right now it was different, she wasn’t in her father’s protection and care anymore also she didn’t have the title of a princess of a force anymore, the privilege she earned as a high-ranking noble was gone so her caste which was above man commoners but below man noble, now below all of them because she is a woman.

Lu Lingqi who heard this turned silent, she knew that she couldn’t argue any further because what Lie Fan said was true, she understood that the Fan was doing his best to protect her and her unit, while also slowly trying to change the minds of these soldiers.

Looking at the melancholy look on her face, Lie Fan couldn’t stand it, and after sighing he told Lu Lingqi that in the next several battles she and her unit would join alongside him to fight in the front line.

Lu Lingqi who heard this immediately turned happy and thanked Lie Fan profusely, in her excitement she hugged Lie Fan tightly which surprised the both of them when they came in touch.

Lu Lingqi immediately turned bright red and after releasing her hold, she ran away leaving the tent at a fast speed, leaving Lie Fan looking at her fleeing back still in shock which turned into amusement.

While all of this happening, far at Yang Province the capital of the Sun Clan, Sun Jian was holding a meeting with his council to discuss the matter of Lie Fan attacking Liu Biao, and why he didn’t call for them to join in the war.

At first, after the new year, Sun Jian planned to discuss Sun Ce’s ascension to his position replacing him as the Lord of the Sun Clan and its force, especially when Zhang Zhao and Zhang Hong, two respected and talented figures in Yang Province come and joined his service to become his advisors.

Sun Jian: ”Everyone what do you think we should do now, Lie Fan hasn’t called for aid or invited us to participate in his war against Liu Biao.”

Huan Jie: ”My Lord, I think we should join in this war, our land has become more or less stabilized, it was all due to Master Zhang Zhao and Master Zhang Hong pledging their allegiance to My Lord.”

Zhang Hong: ”Haha Huan Jie’s words are too kind, this small matter of administrative and internal affairs is an easy problem for me, but I think we should be cautious and not join the war less we angered the tiger that was now hunting its meat.”

Zhang Hong: ”Master Zhang Zhao is right but also wrong, we can be cautious but we should also take this opportunity to expand My Lord’s domain, which can become an opportunity for us to even reclaim Changsha in the near future.”

Sun Jian: ”Boxu, Master Zibu, and Master Zigang have raised valid points, I agree that we can anger the tiger but he should have known that there are others who wanted the piece of meat also, Gongjin what do you think we should do?”

Zhou Yu: ”My Lord I think we should participate in the war just like Master Huan Jie has suggested, but we should also be cautious like what Master Zhang Zhao has said, as long as we don’t touch Lie Fan’s core interest, I think we can expand our domain and someday retake Changsha!”

Zhou Yu was surprised when his name was suddenly called by Sun Jian, but soon he told Sun Jian what was on his mind while also maneuvering his words so that the three masters wouldn’t feel disrespected.

Zhou Yu’s words were what Sun Jian needed as a catalyst to participate in the war, he could see that this was an opportunity for him to expand his domain in his last rule before relinquishing his position to Sun Ce.

Zhou Yu’s world reverberated with everyone in the hall even Huan Jie, Zhang Zhao, and Zhang Hong agreeing with Zhou Yu’s words, everyone could see that Liu Biao was in a bad position now that Lie Fan had set his eyes on him.

Seeing that everyone showed their agreement with Zhou Yu’s words, Sun Jian gave the orders for his army to be organized and the supplies needed to be prepared for their participation in Lie Fan’s battle against Liu Biao, they will focus on expanding their land to the West, while their navy will give some support to Lie Fan’s navy in fighting against Huang Zu’s navy and Cai Mao’s Navy in Yangtze River.
