The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

Chapter 289: Chapter 183: Elemental Fission Science, Birth of a Witchcraft Artifact in Blood and Bone

On the Wizard Ship, the “Extraordinary Cultivation” Witchcraft chosen by the new apprentices was merely a series of derivative arts from the broader field of Extraordinary Cultivation Science.

In fact, Extraordinary Cultivation Science itself was just a piece of Lower Rank Extraordinary Knowledge.

As for Upper-Order Extraordinary Knowledge, the Official Wizard who had created Extraordinary Cultivation Science had not yet uploaded the subsequent content to the Dark Information Hub.

Perhaps it hadn’t even been created yet.

High-tier Extraordinary Knowledge was divided into Lower Rank, Middle Rank, and Upper-Order.

Upper-Order knowledge was what Official Wizards mastered, studied, and researched.

Learning was an endless pursuit. Official Wizards could create Extraordinary Knowledge, but they also had to continuously learn and enrich themselves to achieve greater heights.

The Wizard Path would constantly expand during this process.

…

The price of the knowledge in the Land of Inheritance fluctuated because of the different tiers of content.

Upper-Order High-tier Knowledge was more expensive and its content more complex. Without the requisite level of understanding, buying it would be like trying to read an indecipherable text; one could only stare at it in confusion.

With the Dark Points Wang Ya had left, he could still purchase some High-tier Extraordinary Knowledge. Whether he could afford Upper-Order High-tier Knowledge was another matter entirely. What suited him was only Lower Rank, or Middle Rank at best.

“Respected Heritage Wizard, I wish to enter the Heritage Maze.”

“You may.”

The Heritage Wizard watched the figure step into the Heritage Maze, ripples of emotion stirring in his heart. ‘With my sharp eye, I can naturally see his Power… Has he already reached the level of a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice?’

‘How much time has passed?’

‘That little one from the Dark Lineage… did he advance this quickly?’

‘I don’t think so.’

‘It probably took him around thirty years.’

‘Even that was an extremely fast pace.’

‘But compared to Wang Ya, it pales in comparison.’

The Heritage Wizard gazed at the floating heritage scrolls, stroking his beard with his right hand as a smile touched his lips.

‘When outstanding juniors appear in the Dark Land, we old folks feel quite gratified.’

The Wizard Path of an Official Wizard was not without its end.

The Wizard’s Heart of an Official Wizard could also grow cold.

The Heritage Wizard was one such Wizard who had given up on walking the path any further. He was too old and had recognized the reality of his own shortcomings.

Sometimes, giving up is a choice, and not necessarily the wrong one.

For the person involved, it can even be the right decision.

“Such youthful vitality. He should be able to go much further on the Wizard Path than I did.”

The Heritage Wizard leaned back in his chair. He would likely spend the rest of his life here in the Land of Inheritance as time passed, until his body decayed, his soul withered, and he vanished completely from this world.

…

「Two months later.」

Wang Ya freed himself from the complex subjects of Extraordinary Knowledge.

He set down his feather pen. The sheepskin scroll before him was covered in dense script, all of it detailing his understanding and cognition of Extraordinary Knowledge.

It also included written suggestions for various Wizard Experiments.

Many Wizard Experiments could be accelerated, and their success rates increased, through the intervention of Wizardry Means.

On his trip to the Land of Inheritance two months prior, Wang Ya had spent every last one of his Dark Points. He had even thrown in the proceeds from selling his Wizard’s Residence.

He was completely broke.

He had purchased three pieces of Lower Rank Extraordinary Knowledge from the Land of Inheritance.

One was a piece of Extraordinary Knowledge on “Biological Cultivation,” produced by the Official Wizard who specialized in researching Cultivation Witchcraft.

It was said to contain the author’s personal notes and some academic discussions.

Wang Ya did indeed find notes in it, but they were mostly doodles and sketches, similar to the sketches of his previous life.

Every chapter in the Extraordinary Witch Book, corresponding to a particular Cultivation Witchcraft, had a sketch depicting the resulting transformation or reaction after using it.

It showed what the correct standard should look like.

Wang Ya felt that this Official Wizard must be a homebody with an artistic soul.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t have come up with so many strange Cultivation Witchcrafts.

Many of these Cultivation Witchcrafts offered no substantial benefits at all.

They were more about aesthetic improvements.

‘What’s the use of aesthetics?’

Making feathers glossier and more beautiful, changing the color of a beak, or shrinking once-broad wings to make them small and delicate.

Having spent so many Dark Points on it, Wang Ya had no choice but to bite the bullet and keep reading.

He also purchased some Advanced Extraordinary Knowledge regarding the cultivation of Magical Plants.

This allowed Wang Ya to learn a special Magical Plant Witchcraft that was said to allow one to listen to the breathing of plants.

In layman’s terms, it meant he could establish a special connection to perceive the subtle states of the Magical Plants he was cultivating, allowing him to detect any abnormal lesions in advance.

He could then treat the issue before the lesion became severe, minimizing potential losses.

Similarly, during the Blood-sucking King Vine’s fusion experiments, he could provide nutrient solutions in a timely manner or offer other forms of assistance at the right moment to accelerate its transformation process.

This was far, far better than just letting it evolve and transform on its own.

The other two pieces of Lower Rank Extraordinary Knowledge concerned research into the property changes of Particle Energy.

[Elemental Fission Science: Different elements share commonalities. Through special Wizardry Means, you can convert them, transforming one form of Elemental Energy into another. The Fire Element is not limited to being fire, nor is the Water Element confined to being water… Elemental Wizards have more, and greater, possibilities. —A work by the White Bone Wizard.]

[Rhein Wizard’s Review: Although White Bone is an amateur, he did a decent job writing this piece of Lower Rank Extraordinary Knowledge. Elemental Particle Energy cannot be constrained; you must have a boundless imagination. All things in the world possess elemental affinities. What you need to do is find the special element that is uniquely yours.]

…

[Energy Amplitude Phase Compatibility Science: Do you really understand Particle Energy? Is Particle Energy just for simply casting Witchcraft? Don’t be a fool; anyone who thinks that is an idiot! Particle Energy is alive. It is an extension of your limbs, an evolution of your soul, an extension of your physical body. It possesses immense plasticity. Any Wizard who thought to buy this piece of Extraordinary Knowledge is a smart person. It will allow you to build a solid foundation. —A work by the Rhein Wizard.]

[White Bone Wizard’s Review: A decent Witch Book. The solid foundation it builds will give you the basis for researching the property changes of Particle Energy, but it is only a basis. Rhein’s teaching ability is truly weak. If you were to purchase “Particle Collision Compatibility Science,” you would gain much more and build an even deeper foundation.]

Of course, two months was not enough time for Wang Ya to master this Lower Rank Extraordinary Knowledge.

At most, he had only managed to finish absorbing the basic Advanced Magic Plant Witch Book.

The difficulty wasn’t high, and with the aid of the Eye of Truth, Wang Ya’s progress was extremely fast.

Wang Ya also knew a little about “Particle Collision Compatibility Science.” It was a piece of Middle-Extraordinary Knowledge authored by the White Bone Wizard.

‘It seems something must have happened between the Rhein Wizard and the White Bone Wizard.’

‘Otherwise, they wouldn’t be so at odds with each other.’

The relationships between Official Wizards were too distant a concern for Wang Ya.

After washing up in the lavatory, Wang Ya changed into a black Wizard Robe.

Harak disliked the environment of the Sword Mountain and Fire Sea, so Wang Ya had it stay in the Three-Layered Space.

Today, he was meeting the Divine Blood Wizard by invitation to complete the final step in forging his Extraordinary Witchcraft Artifact.

This involved infusing it with his blood, Soul Power, and Extraordinary Spiritual Power to leave behind a Spiritual Brand.

Only then would it be perfectly attuned to its respective Wizard.

Moreover, the Divine Blood Wizard was forging a growth-type Extraordinary Witchcraft Artifact.

It wouldn’t just be a Spiritual Brand left behind.

There was also the Soul Brand, which was related to Soul Power.

This process would last for a month, during which Wang Ya would need to be ready to give blood and participate with his Extraordinary Spiritual Power at any time.

He had prepared plenty of Azure Potions and Recovery Potions.

Walking out of the stone passageway, he gazed at the churning Earth Fire that dyed the sky crimson.

A fervent glint appeared in Wang Ya’s eyes. ‘What shape will my very own Extraordinary Witchcraft Artifact take?’
