The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

A figure in a Blue Wizard Robe, brimming with wild Particle Energy, burst out of the Circular Tower. Her aura was astonishing, and her beautiful face was frosted with anger. She cast a cold glance at the Wizards below before flying directly over their heads, utterly disdainful.

For the Wizards below, this was an act of contempt and insult. Licorice Camp’s rules also forbade the use of Witchcraft for flight within its bounds.

Yet, not a single Law Enforcement Wizard from the camp appeared to stop her.

Some Wizards were inwardly displeased, but they showed no reaction, keeping their eyes lowered... The woman in the Blue Wizard Robe was an Extreme Wizard Apprentice!!

In Licorice Camp, that meant she was at the top of the food chain.

Extreme Wizard Apprentices among the Wild Wizards were exceedingly rare, but those who managed to mature were terrifyingly powerful, not much weaker than their counterparts from major Wizard Influences.

Kaze Antuun glanced over impassively before returning his gaze to the stall in front of him.

Beneath his Black Mask, Wang Ya raised an eyebrow. ’Could she be one of Licorice Camp’s four Extreme Wizard Apprentices...?’ The information he’d gathered mentioned no female Extreme Wizard Apprentices, only the Oby Brothers and a reclusive Wizard named Victor.

This female Wizard was clearly agitated. Something must have happened inside the Circular Tower, but it had nothing to do with him.

Qiudongqiu was deeply frustrated. She had placed her hopes in Komore countless times, only to be met with disappointment again and again.

No matter how great the Black Sun Inheritance was, waiting a hundred and twenty years for it was simply not worth it. If she had chosen to return to the Black Tower, she might have already advanced to an Official Wizard by now.

She couldn’t understand the reason for Komore’s persistence. They had four of the five Black Sun Badges, but how long would they have to wait to find the last one? On the vast Wizard Continent, it was like searching for a needle in a haystack. How could they possibly be lucky enough to gather all five?

To wait bitterly for countless years only to end in disappointment would be to waste her entire life here.

Qiudongqiu would absolutely not allow that to happen. She didn’t know how much longer she could keep waiting.

’Komore, you really can’t drag this on any longer. You used to be so brilliant, so dazzling. So many Master Wizards in the Black Tower had high hopes for you.’

’Now, they all think you’ve fallen, that you’ve lost your way. The honor of being the strongest Level 3 Wizard Apprentice has been gradually forgotten... I won’t let you waste your life here any longer. Please forgive me.’

Qiudongqiu made up her mind. When she returned to the Black Tower this time, she would discuss it with the Sack Clan. She would have Komore dragged back, even if they had to tie him up.

Her body gradually ascended. She subconsciously glanced down at the figures of Wizards bustling back and forth in the stall area. It was lively, and also utterly ordinary.

To Qiudongqiu, these Wizards would probably never reach the level of an Official Wizard in their entire lives. They spent their days squabbling over petty profits, haggling over every little thing... Qiudongqiu’s gaze fell upon a Wizard wearing a Black Mask. For some reason, she lingered on him for an extra moment, a strange flutter stirring in her heart.

She then pulled her gaze away and shook her head. ’What’s wrong with me? Has my anger toward Komore muddled my mind?’

He was just an unremarkable Wizard from the Outer Zone. Even if he belonged to a Wizard Influence, it was no big deal.

The Black Tower was a powerful force in the Inner Zone. Even the combined Wizard Influences of the Land of Mountains and Seas and the Land of Slaughter were no match for it.

Wang Ya glanced at the blue figure disappearing into the distant sky, a hint of surprise showing beneath his Black Mask. ’That woman really was looking at me, wasn’t she!!’

He was a bit confused but didn’t dwell on it.

She had already left. He figured she had probably just glanced around subconsciously; she wasn’t necessarily looking at him, but perhaps just scanning the area.

Deep within the Circular Tower, Komore spoke to a tall, thin figure dressed in a white shirt and butler’s attire, voicing words he would not normally say.

”Victor, do you think what I’m doing is truly pointless? This is the ninth time Qiudongqiu has come to see me.”

A rare hint of hesitation showed on Komore’s face.

Qiudongqiu’s words were not without effect. After waiting for a hundred and twenty years, an ordinary Wizard would have given up long ago.

Even an Official Wizard, with a much longer lifespan, would most likely not waste one hundred and twenty years in the Separation Land of this Outer Zone.

Particle Energy was scarce, resources were lacking, and sources of Extraordinary Knowledge were nearly nonexistent... As for conducting Wizard Experiments, expanding one’s Wizard Path, or increasing one’s Power, it was all incredibly difficult.

Victor had the appearance of a middle-aged man, with an aquiline nose, profound eyes, and a perpetually stoic expression. He possessed the Power of an Extreme Wizard Apprentice and was the Wizard the Sack Clan had assigned to be Komore’s personal attendant.

Facing the question from the Sack Clan’s Direct Lineage Wizard, he spoke. ”For me, whatever choice Master Komore makes is the correct one. I need only carry it out.”

”However, if Master Komore’s life is endangered, I will forcibly bring you back to the Black Tower. This is also Master Bic’s order.”

Komore sighed and didn’t question the Sack Clan’s loyal servant any further.

Standing at the very top of the Circular Tower, he gazed down at the many Wizard figures coming and going in Licorice Camp below, and at the floating clouds on the distant horizon.
