The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

As if coming alive, they transformed into fine black threads and invaded the bodies of the respective Extraordinary Creatures.

Their Extraordinary Properties couldn’t stop the Harak Phage’s invasion. Cell by cell, their flesh was devoured, replaced, and then used to replicate even more Harak Phages.

Starting from the point of infection, the black, fleshy substance spread toward the rest of the body.

The process was swift. Once an Extraordinary Creature was fully infected, it became a Puppet under Harak’s control.

It was also a creature under Wang Ya’s command. Directed by him, it tore into other Extraordinary Creatures, continuously cross-infecting them until the entire Beast Tide became Bacteriophage Infected.

However, the infection still took time.

The Mortal City was damaged nonetheless, as the parts of the Beast Tide approaching from other directions were not stopped.

Throngs of mortals huddled trembling inside their homes, desperately barricading the doors with tables and cabinets.

With red, crazed eyes, the Extraordinary Creatures killed and bit any human they saw, wreaking havoc. The taste of human flesh, in particular, drove them into an utter frenzy.

Harak transformed back into a Flying Griffin. With Wang Ya on its back, it hovered high above the city, allowing him to survey the scene below.

He watched with indifference as humans were killed one by one.

The number of Bacteriophage Infected was steadily increasing. One by one, the rampaging Extraordinary Creatures were infected. The damage they had already caused was irreversible.

But at least this human city could be saved.

Most of its people would survive.

.....

After a simple Wizard dissection, Wang Ya observed the internal structure of a Middle-tier Extraordinary Creature.

All of its biological systems were normal, showing no adverse effects or pathologies.

He focused his observation on the brain, and the analysis from his Eye of Truth confirmed his findings.

At this, Wang Ya raised an eyebrow. ’Could it really be what I suspected?’

Something had gone wrong deep in the Cloud Moon Mountain Range, forcing all these Extraordinary Creatures to flee their native territories.

Washing his hands, Wang Ya glanced up at the blazing sun.

Ignoring the mortals cautiously poking their heads out from the buildings, Wang Ya had Harak carry him and fly swiftly toward the Cloud Moon Mountain Range.

However, they flew at an altitude far beyond the range of the naked eye.

The Bacteriophage Infected, also under his control, swarmed toward the Cloud Moon Mountain Range.

Wang Ya was still taking necessary precautions.

’I’ll let these Extraordinary Creatures probe ahead and see what the actual cause is.’

For some reason, Wang Ya felt a lingering unease.

Towering trees, a humid environment, and extremely high temperatures—the situation inside the Cloud Moon Forest unfolded before Wang Ya’s eyes.

Through the explorations of the Bacteriophage Infected, Wang Ya discovered something strange.

Not even the smallest forms of life existed. There was no trace of insects or birds. The place was deathly still; he had no idea what had happened.

’No wonder these Extraordinary Creatures fled. This is completely unnatural.’

The Bacteriophage Infected had reached the depths of the mountain range. It was a valley plain, where massive piles of Extraordinary Creature corpses lay, all dead from some unknown cause.

The missing insects and birds were accounted for as well—their corpses were here, packed together in a dense, horrifying carpet.

’What in the world is the cause...’ Just as Wang Ya thought he might have found it, he was horrified to discover his own Bacteriotype Infected were beginning to die one by one.

At the same time, a terrifying force was drawing the Bacteriophage Infected deeper into the valley.

But they died on the way.

The Harak Phages inside their bodies also perished without exception.

’You’ve got to be kidding me!!’

Horror flashed in Wang Ya’s eyes. If the Harak Phages had all died, it meant that Gundas’ Dog would perish here as well.

The two were on a similar level.

But only Wang Ya knew how potent the Harak Phage’s vitality was, how incredible its survivability... ’This shouldn’t be happening. What in the world is in that valley?!’

Suddenly, Wang Ya’s expression changed. He stared in a particular direction with a jolt of horror.

It was as if the vast distance had collapsed, allowing him to see exactly what was happening there.

Wang Ya had made it a habit to place a Dream Seed inside certain creatures, allowing them to move about freely.

Through the Dream Seed’s perspective, Wang Ya could perceive potential dangers in advance.

They served as Wang Ya’s eyes.

That location was still some distance from Cloud Moon Forest, situated in a forest near another city.

It was also connected to Cloud Moon Forest via the mountain range.

Many Extraordinary Creatures were also migrating in that direction.

They were likely acting on an instinctual fear of some unobservable pheromones, microscopic substances, or radiation waves emanating from the valley.

Since Wang Ya had not personally gone to the valley, he couldn’t determine the exact situation.

He could only make a preliminary judgment based on the death of the Harak Phages.

And it was precisely because even the Harak Phages died upon entering the valley that a wary expression appeared on Wang Ya’s face. He would not enter the valley until he understood the situation more clearly.

His perspective shifted to the Dream Seed. Its host was a Morogao White Jade Bird—a tiny creature that was also a type of Extraordinary Creature.

It was a Low-tier Extraordinary Creature, however. Its Extraordinary Properties allowed it to hide its aura, making it undetectable to a Level 1 Wizard Apprentice.

A powerful wave of Particle Energy erupted within this Primitive Forest. Its quality and terrifying aura had reached the level of an Extreme Wizard Apprentice.

At the same time, the Biological Force Fields of seven or eight Level 3 Wizard Apprentices clashed, their own Particle Energy fluctuations completely suppressed by the melee.

The Morogao White Jade Bird hosting Wang Ya’s Dream Seed was almost instantly obliterated by the clash of Biological Force Fields.

He quickly took control, pulling it away from the edge of the battlefield to observe from high in the sky.

Its white feathers blended in perfectly with the sky, and with its aura concealed, its presence was nearly impossible to detect.

Wang Ya was filled with confusion and a sense of unease. ’The eerie valley is one thing, but why is there a battle between Wizards happening here?’

’And with such immense Power.’

Even in the Dark Land, the number of Extreme Wizard Apprentices was limited.

Right now, one person was completely dominating nine others in battle. It was an unbelievable sight, and they held an absolute advantage.

Wang Ya was stunned. ’This Extreme Wizard Apprentice must be a powerhouse even among others of the same level.’

’But why are they here?’

’Are they a Wizard from the Dark Land, or...?’ He knew that headquarters dispatched Law Enforcement Wizards to capture fugitives, but this situation was simply too bizarre.

Nine Law Enforcement Wizards against one Extreme Wizard Apprentice, or one Law Enforcement Wizard against nine Level 3 Wizard Apprentices—neither scenario made sense.

’Law Enforcement Wizards always operate in squads.’

’This is...’

Wang Ya’s pupils contracted. A look of terror filled his eyes, and his hands clenched unconsciously. His expression became grim and uncertain.

Reflected in the Morogao White Jade Bird’s pupils was a chilling, white Particle Energy that continuously swelled and gushed out from the deep forest, consuming the very sky and turning everything it touched to bone.

Trees, the earth, and the various manifestations of Witchcraft were all suppressed, transformed into chilling bone.

This white Particle Energy was so powerful, so terrifying... and also so incredibly familiar to Wang Ya.

’It’s White Bone Particle Energy!’

Only a Heritage Wizard of the White Bone Lineage could master this Special Particle Energy.

’That Extreme Wizard Apprentice...’ The image of Wizard Yi Si surfaced in Wang Ya’s mind.

’Could it be him?!’

’But why is he here, locked in a life-or-death battle with nine Level 3 Wizard Apprentices?’

The mounting questions made Wang Ya’s brow furrow.

The auras of the nine Level 3 Wizard Apprentices began to vanish, one by one.

It wasn’t hard to guess the outcome.

Wang Ya’s expression turned grave. He patted Harak beneath his feet. With a flap of its wings, they rose higher still, concealed by the clouds.
