The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

The Administration Building.

Gusai was processing some documents on his desk, signing his name. The enrollment procedures for the Wizard Freshmen were more or less complete, so his work was about to get much, much easier.

The office wasn’t large. It only contained a long table, a bookshelf, and some potted plants on the windowsill.

Gusai put down his feather pen, just about to stand up and rest for a moment.

His brow furrowed, and he even blinked subconsciously.

’It’s not an illusion...’

In his field of vision, a faint, almost invisible figure stood at the entrance, gently knocking on the door.

The door wasn’t closed, and Gusai only looked over because he heard the sound.

’How can this be?’

Gusai Wizard was astonished. He extended his Extraordinary Spiritual Power and was finally able to see the figure’s details clearly.

”Wang Ya, you... what is this...?” Gusai stared at the familiar yet strange face, somewhat stunned.

Wang Ya smiled and said, ”Gusai Wizard, long time no see.”

”It has indeed been a while since we last met.”

Gusai hadn’t sensed Wang Ya’s aura at all. It was as if he had been standing there the whole time, and Gusai only saw him naturally when his gaze fell upon that spot.

This should have been impossible; he had been in the room all day.

It was previously rumored that Wang Ya was in deep seclusion. ’Could it be that his Power has already reached the level of a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice, so much so that even I can no longer see through him?’

Gusai took a deep breath, sat back down, and asked in a low voice, ”Is there something you need?”

Wang Ya took a Wizard Card from his sleeve. ”I’ll have to trouble you, Gusai Wizard. I want to purchase some Extraordinary Knowledge regarding Alchemy.”

”Certainly.”

Holding the Wizard Card and watching Wang Ya’s figure gradually fade away, Gusai was shaken. ’His transformation is too great, too astonishing. It’s as if he’s a completely different person, whether in terms of his aura or his Power.’

Gusai was almost certain that Wang Ya had advanced to a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice within eight years.

Such a rate of improvement was definitely the fastest among the last batch of Wizard Freshmen.

It even ranked among the very best in the entire history of the Dark Land.

How long had it been since the Secret Realm competition? Ten years at the absolute most!

Gusai sighed to himself, ”Perhaps the Divine Blood School wasn’t a good fit for him. The Illusion Illusory Dream Lineage is what truly suits him.”

’No wonder the Illusory Dream Wizard personally intervened to take him as a disciple.’

Gusai finally understood.

His brow furrowed as he recalled something else. The Divine Blood Wizard had previously mentioned that he should pay attention to the movement of Wizards within his jurisdiction, as it was suspected that outside Wizards had entered the Dark Land’s territory.

The incident at Celestial Wings Wizard City ten years ago must absolutely not happen again.

’The newly established Law Enforcement Wizard department, the ”Dark Hand,” supersedes all other departments. Only Wizards from the Dark Cultivation Plan are qualified to join.’

’The Dark Hand operates throughout the entire Dark Land, possessing the authority to monitor, enforce laws, and act first and report later. Hopefully, it can deter some of the restless elements.’

Gusai pressed his fingers to his brow, easing his fatigue.

’A storm is brewing. I wonder where the problem lies.’

Only Official Wizards could likely see the true nature of the situation.

「...」

「Commercial Street.」

The passing Wizards still ignored Wang Ya, walking right past him.

This was a shop called Harak Grocery Store. It had a decent amount of foot traffic, and from time to time, Wizards would enter and then leave with smiles on their faces.

They had clearly purchased items to their satisfaction.

This was the very shop on the Commercial Street that the Antuun Clan had lost to Wang Ya.

It sold many things, all of which were either Dream Creatures captured from the Dream World over the past eight years or items derived from various Wizard Experiments.

Business was surprisingly booming, and the profits were extremely high. This was because Wang Ya’s shop was the only one on the entire Commercial Street that sold Dream Creatures, so naturally, Wang Ya was the one who set the Selling Price.

Otherwise, without taking any Wizard Tasks or having a source of Magic Stones for eight years, let alone continuing his Wizard Experiments, even improving his Meditation Method would have become difficult.

The fact that his Extraordinary Spiritual Power had reached a value of 33 was also thanks to a considerable number of Extraordinary Potions.

As for his Physique, that went without saying; every aspect of it consumed resources and Magic Stones.

Wang Ya’s purchase of knowledge on Alchemy from Gusai Wizard was also for this reason; he wanted to enrich the stock of his grocery store.

Of course, he wouldn’t be the one brewing them. The shop had quite a few Wizard employees, one of whom was a Potion Wizard he had recruited.

This Wizard had lacked the financial means to purchase raw materials and potion formulas to practice and improve his alchemy skills.

He signed a Wizard Contract with Wang Ya and became the resident Potion Wizard for Harak Grocery Store.

”Wang Ya, you... you’re here...” Mona, the shopkeeper with four years of experience, wore a pleasantly surprised smile when she saw Wang Ya again.

”I almost didn’t recognize you. Your transformation has been immense.”

Wang Ya gave a faint smile. ”It seems you’ve settled in well, Mona. That’s for the best. Harak Grocery Store’s booming business is largely thanks to me getting you from Hades Antuun.”

”It’s all because of these Extraordinary Resources. Looking at these things every day, knowing they’re not mine, is enough to make my eyes turn red with envy.” Mona’s pink lips curved into a light laugh. She had matured into a voluptuous woman, gaining a certain feminine charm. She could also take a joke and had a more mature way of thinking and interacting with Wang Ya.
