The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

Pale fingers danced lightly, and the scene within the Dream Foam continuously magnified. This was a deep Dream Realm woven specifically for the Gendas Evil God.

It was based on the information from Gendas’s fragmented consciousness, which served as the core, allowing this deep Dream Realm to evolve on its own.

RUMBLE!

Wang Ya saw a churning sea, burning flames, erupting magma, and roaring thunder as black clouds covered the entire world.

This was the destruction of a world. It was also a memory that existed within the Gendas Evil God’s fragmented consciousness—something it had personally experienced.

At this time, the Gundas’ Dog was just an ordinary canine Extraordinary Creature, fleeing along with a herd of beasts. So many Extraordinary Creatures died along the way. Even with their powerful physical bodies, they couldn’t escape death in the face of such a Natural Calamity.

Extreme heat, magma, scorching air, trampling... The fragile Gendas had to face many harsh challenges.

The slightest misstep would mean death.

Terror, unease, and fear filled Gendas’s beastly eyes. Perhaps luck was on his side, as he didn’t die in the numerous disasters. However, there was little land left to stand on safely. The sea surged and poured inland, gradually swallowing the entire continent.

He followed his instincts and ran toward higher ground. From the world’s highest mountain range, he watched the vast ocean swallow everything as lightning struck down from the dark clouds into the sea.

He also saw a face emerge from the dark clouds, a face so large it nearly filled the entire sky. Its features were ferocious, seemingly furious at some other existence, filled with deep resentment.

The face roared, and the resulting shockwave made the entire world tremble.

”Angele Lu Sheng, I hate you! I refuse to accept this! The glory of the Legendary Era still remains! What right do you have to stop me from plundering the Void Sea, all for a group of lowly worms who haven’t even touched the Extraordinary!”

”The worms you speak of are my friends, my family, my home. Besides, the Legendary Era is over, and the time for Wizards to crusade into the Void Sea has ended. The Wizard World needs stability, and the Endless Void Sea needs peace. This is an agreement made with the other legendary civilizations.”

A cold, clear voice answered the face, but it only made the face angrier. ”No, the Legendary Era isn’t over! I, Gendas, absolutely do not acknowledge it!”

”According to the Purge Protocol, Level 6 Wizard ’Blood Lord’ Gendas, you have violated Article Nine of the protocol... by plundering the Void Sea without authorization and devouring nine Little Worlds... As a Purge Executor, I sentence you to death.”

”No one can pass judgment on me, not even you, Angele Lu Sheng.”

The face grew even more ferocious and distorted. A blinding, blood-red light emerged from its facial features and scattered in all directions, seemingly passing from another Space Layer into this Little World on the verge of collapse.

The aftershocks of that indescribably terrifying power made the sea surge and the earth capsize. Fissures tore through the planet’s crust, and magma spewed forth from its core.

The churning waves formed a gigantic whirlpool, like the Ruins of the world, threatening to devour everything.

The pupils of the weak Gendas Evil God reflected the appearance of a blurry figure amidst the dark clouds... He wore a deep Blue Wizard Robe and was not particularly tall. Compared to the blood-red face, he was like a firefly next to the brilliant moon.

The moment he appeared, the Gendas Evil God could no longer look away, his eyes fixed on the figure in the Wizard Robe.

He held a book-like object in his right hand.

Blood Lord Gendas’s myriad rays of blood-red light had already enveloped and submerged that area.

The true battlefield, however, was outside this Little World, in the true, dark void.

The face was not just a face; it had a complete body. Blood-red Biological Energy flowed throughout it, containing an amount of Energy that surpassed even that of the Little World where the Gendas Evil God resided.

Its body was also incomparably massive. The face, shrouded in blood-red light, was already one-fifth the size of the Little World.

If it opened its mouth, it could bite off one-tenth of the material area of the rotating, spherical Little World.

Facing the myriad rays of blood-red light capable of annihilating a Little World, the figure in deep blue simply raised his right hand and slowly opened a page of the book-like object.

All the blood-red light was drawn into it, unable to display even a shred of its power.

”Your Blood Rule can become a new page in my Book of All Things. Death is too good for you. You devoured my home, so you shall become a new world-page in my Book of All Things, along with your Blood Rule.”

The figure in deep blue opened the book wide. Power of Rules erupted from every page, manifesting into tangible reality that filled the Gendas Evil God’s vision.

Beams of colorful light struck the blood-red face, one after another, like sharp blades slicing it into fragments. Then, the fragments were drawn into the book held by the tiny figure in deep blue.

The Little World’s destruction was inevitable. The weak Gendas Evil God stared blankly at his home as a sense of sorrow welled up from the depths of his soul.

The seawater submerged the highest point on the land, and he sank into the ocean, pulled in by the suction of a deep, swirling abyss on the seabed.

As his last bit of oxygen ran out, he vaguely saw a streak of blood-red light. He instinctively bit down on it, chewing and swallowing...

.....

This was the Gendas Evil God’s most profound memory.

It was the most complete content that the Dream Foam was able to analyze.

As for its other memories, perhaps because they were not as profound, they had already faded and dissipated from the consciousness fragment after too much of its Conscious Soul Power was used.

There was little else Wang Ya could learn. Most of it consisted of brief, fragmented images of the Gendas Evil God devouring other creatures.

Still, Wang Ya gained quite a bit from it, as he could now recognize these species of creatures and their potential Traits.

If he were to encounter them in the future, he would be able to handle them with ease.

Wang Ya truly hadn’t expected the Gendas Evil God’s origin to be like this... The scene derived from the Dream Foam was incredibly real; Wang Ya could even feel the sorrow of that world.

Watching that ultimate Natural Calamity and its absolute destructive power, Wang Ya couldn’t help but hold his breath.

The Gendas Evil God originally had no name. It was only after devouring that streak of blood-red light that he named himself Gendas.

Wang Ya’s eyes flickered as he pieced several things together.

’The Deep Blue Wizard, Angele Lu Sheng, that the Illusory Dream Wizard mentioned is no simple figure. He must have been active far longer than just tens of thousands of years ago—he must be from a much more ancient time.’

’The Legendary Era was even before the Ancient Era. It was a time when Wizards explored the starry sky, plundered the myriad heavens of the Void Sea, wrote one legend after another, and brought the Wizard Civilization to its true peak.’

’After the Ancient Era came the Middle Era, and then the Recent Ancient Era... An event from just tens of thousands of years ago would, at most, fall at the very tail end of the Recent Ancient Era.’

’The streak of blood-red light that the Gendas Evil God swallowed must have been one of the countless fragments of the Blood Lord Gendas—a so-called Rule Fragment.’

’After a long period of slumber in that broken, dying Little World, it survived through one era after another, relying on the power provided by the Rule Fragment.’

’The Rule Fragment fused with the Gendas Evil God, granting it unimaginable potential and the terrifying Ability to devour any living creature to strengthen itself.’

’The Blood Lord must have been someone who walked the Blood Wizard Path.’

Wang Ya took a deep breath. ’A Level 6 Great Wizard... What does that even mean? A being who could devour worlds with a single bite... And yet, he was still killed by the Deep Blue Great Wizard. Not just killed, but dismembered into fragments. Not even the remains of his corpse were spared; they were used completely.’

’How utterly ruthless!’

Now Wang Ya understood the origin of the spectacular sights on the Wizard Continent. ’Someone who could kill a Level 6 Great Wizard... besides the Deep Blue Great Wizard, who else could have created these strange places?’

’The Deep Blue Secret Realm... based on the Deep Blue Great Wizard’s name alone, I have to go there.’
