The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

Wang Ya reaped significant rewards from the Gendas Evil God’s consciousness fragments. Beyond the fragmented memories, he uncovered the inherent connection between the fragments and the heart of flesh and blood.

If something happened to the fragments, the heart would be affected as well. They were like a single entity, destined to rise and fall together, even when physically separated.

Wang Ya noticed this subtle detail, and it made him think of the balance between the illusory and the real.

’Could this be the key to the Gendas Evil God’s balance, and also the direction I’m meant to pursue?’

The Level 3 Wizard Apprentice stage was merely a transition. To become an Extreme Wizard Apprentice, one had to not only meet the required Spiritual Power Value but also achieve a balance between the illusory and the real... This was a prerequisite for advancing to an Official Wizard.

The hundred years of accumulation, abundant resources, and refinement of one’s Wizard Path as an Extreme Wizard Apprentice were all in service of further promoting this balance.

No one could ever be certain where their own point of balance lay.

For some Wizards, it was a simple numerical balance between their Physique and their Spiritual Power.

For others, the breakthrough opportunity would only arrive after they raised their Spiritual Power Value to an extremely high level while their physique remained incredibly weak. Only then could they smoothly pass the trial of the Wizard World Will and become an Official Wizard.

It was an uncertain process that each Wizard had to discover for themselves.

Life instinctively strives for improvement. The evolution of all things in nature was a testament to this principle.

The advancement of an Extreme Wizard Apprentice was a quantum leap for life, an evolution of the individual.

Using the consciousness fragments, Wang Ya began to continuously test the Evil God’s Heart’s reactions. A new set of experiments with new variables had begun.

Harak, having fused with the Dream Infinite Genome, was similar to the Gendas Evil God, yet he walked a different path.

The latter’s entire existence was dedicated to self-enhancement.

The former, while also improving himself, was developed more as a biological weapon to assist Wang Ya in battle.

His Black Souls could divide into thousands, so Wang Ya had some of them attempt to invade the Evil God’s Heart to further analyze the true nature of its Evil God Origin.

The result was quite unexpected. The Black Souls were completely unable to invade. It was as if every inch of flesh was already occupied by another consciousness.

This sparked an idea in Wang Ya’s mind, and his eyes grew brighter.

’So that’s how it is. This is the balance of the Gendas Evil God. It integrated a sliver of the Master of Blood’s principles, setting itself on a path to merge all flesh and life into one... Flesh, soul, and even spiritual consciousness are all a single entity. The Evil God’s Heart *is* Gendas. Even if you were to cut off a tiny piece of it, you could still call that piece Gendas.’

’This explains why it’s called the Evil God Origin... It’s remarkably similar to Harak’s Infinite Blood Core. The methods are alike, but their goals are diametrically opposed.’

’Harak’s current transformation involves turning every piece of his flesh into a Biological Witchcraft Artifact. The ”Infinite Black Core”—a fusion of the Infinite Blood Core and the Black Core—will then allow the Black Souls within it to occupy every single piece of that flesh.’

’Imagine Harak secreting that black sludge, allowing the Black Souls to merge with it and reform into the Extraordinary enemies I’ve killed, all at my command.’

’It’s a god-like means of bestowing life.’

’This is a higher-tier combat method than the original Infectious Deep Touch and the Bacteriophage Infected.’

’The latter still require a constant process of cultivation and infection.’

’After these Black Souls are reborn, they can even become my avatars, with my Soul Brand controlling everything from the most fundamental level.’

’In other words, it’s another form of Illusion Body—a tangible one.’

’Their power would vary, depending on the amount of Biological Energy Harak is willing to provide.’

’More Biological Energy means a stronger Physique, more inherent Particle Energy, and the ability to cast powerful Witchcraft.’

’Although his path is the opposite of the Gendas Evil God’s, it still falls under the Blood Wizard Path, which researches the ultimate evolution of flesh and blood.’

Wang Ya stroked his chin, his gaze fixed on the Evil God’s Heart in the cultivation tank inside his laboratory. He pondered, ’Since the Evil God Origin is a perfect three-way balance of spirit, soul, and flesh, perhaps I should have Harak learn this Perfect Balance as well.’

If Harak could achieve it, he could probably advance directly to a Level 1 Extraordinary Creature—a being comparable to an Official Wizard—and would possess even more terrifying potential.

[Analysis of the Perfect Balance between ’Harak’ and the ’Evil God Origin’]

[Targets: ’Evil God Origin,’ ’Harak’]

[Estimated Analysis Time: 10 years]

[Decryption Level: Second Layer.]

Wang Ya altered the analysis parameters, once again assigning two targets to accelerate the process.

Perhaps because the two subjects were so similar and interconnected, the estimated analysis time didn’t increase by much.

The chance to personally guide a High-tier Extraordinary Creature’s advancement to a Level 1 Extraordinary Creature by helping it achieve Perfect Balance... this would provide an incredibly valuable experience for Wang Ya’s own pursuit of Perfect Balance.

Nothing was more profound than firsthand experience; it might even help him find his own point of Perfect Balance.

He left his last analysis slot dedicated to deciphering the New Wizard Rune for his Dream-Recalling Meditation Method.

’Perhaps it’s time to start researching the property transformations of Particle Energy.’

This thought, however, was cut short by a sudden notification.

He stood before the windowsill, the autumn wind rustling his long, black hair. A contemplative look filled his deep eyes.

’The Black Sun Ruins have actually been found.’

.....

「Inside a Wizard Mansion in the Free Zone.」

”We’ve confirmed that the Black Sun Ruins are real this time. After our analysis, we’ve ruled out all the other locations indicated on the Black Sun Badge,” Kaze Antuun explained. ”We can also confirm that the Black Sun Wizard was a Level 2 Wizard. I’ve consulted numerous ancient texts... He was a powerful Wizard active during the Middle Ages who followed the Elemental Wizard Path. He was most famous for his Level 2 Sublimation Witchcraft, ’Black Sun,’ which was rumored to reach temperatures of ten million degrees.”

Wang Ya’s eyes glinted as he gently tapped his fingers on the tabletop. He couldn’t help but feel the corner of his mouth twitch when he heard ”ten million degrees.”

’Add another five million degrees and that would match the surface temperature of the sun from my past life. That’s a bit of an exaggeration.’

’I’d be more inclined to believe the Black Sun Wizard was a Level 3 Great Wizard; maybe then it would be possible.’

”There’s also his Core Witchcraft Artifact, the ’True Yang Lock.’ It can greatly amplify the power of Fire Elemental Energy Witchcraft and has sealing properties. Once it ensnares an enemy, their internal Particle Energy becomes dormant. It can also aid in cultivating the Special Particle Energy ’Black Sun.’” A slightly unnatural expression appeared on Kaze Antuun’s face; he was clearly uncertain about the authenticity of these details, given the Black Sun Wizard was only mentioned in passing in the texts.

”Black Sun Particle Energy is a type of Fire Elemental Energy with annihilating properties. Anything it touches is reduced to ash.”

”The True Yang Lock itself is categorized as a Level 2 Sublimation Witchcraft Artifact.”

Kaze Antuun picked up the Wizard’s Beverage from the table, took a large gulp, and wiped the liquid from his mustache. ”This is all the information I could find on the Black Sun Wizard,” he added.

In truth, the very fact that he was mentioned at all, even in passing, in an ancient record was already quite remarkable.

The Wizard Continent was incredibly vast. There was no telling how many regions like the Land of Mountains and Seas existed in the Outer Zone alone.

To say nothing of the Inner Zone and the Core Zone.

Most of the secret information about the Wizard Continent was monopolized by powerful Wizard Influences.

Traveling across the Wizard Continent without sufficient Power was simply suicidal.

Even with such a vast expanse, the total number of Official Wizards was still significant.

”What we need to consider now is how to explore the Black Sun Ruins. They’re located in the area between the Land of Slaughter and the Land of Mountains and Seas. Aside from the instability spilling over from the Land of Slaughter, we also have to pass through the territory of a Wizard Influence in the ’Land of Decay.’”

Kaze Antuun’s voice grew low. ”The only good news is that the area itself is an unclaimed Free Area. It’s occupied by some Wild Wizards, and gathering places like Wizard Camps have spontaneously formed... Many Wild Wizards, and even those from established Wizard Influences, go there to purchase resources and sell black market goods. It’s a real motley crew, to say the least.”
