Boom!

As the final streak of seven-colored sword light exploded, the chaotic battle fluctuations ahead slowly began to settle.

Wei Yang turned his gaze forward.

There, the gray-robed youth was already at the end of his rope, barely able to keep himself afloat in mid-air, gasping heavily for breath.

His body was covered in sword wounds of varying sizes and depths, with blood gushing out like it cost nothing, staining him completely into a man of blood.

One of his arms had been severed at the elbow. The break was smooth and clean like a mirror, with the lower half missing entirely. Only the upper arm still hung weakly from his shoulder.

Across his chest was a half-foot-long sword wound, with flesh turned over and mangled.

He looked utterly miserable.

Medusa stood before him, her expression cold and emotionless. In her hand was a long, slender, seven-colored sword, its multicolored light flickering ominously. She seemed ready to strike at any moment and deliver the final blow.

”Cough... Wait, stop, stop a moment—I have something to say,” the gray-robed youth said weakly.

”Leaving your last words? Go ahead,” Medusa nodded indifferently.

Cough cough cough... The gray-robed youth coughed violently, spitting out several mouthfuls of fresh, scarlet blood.

”Heh...” He grinned widely, then laughed, ”Hehehe... Hahaha... Hahahahahaha—cough, cough...”

He knew—he was not walking away today.

Through the link of his soul, he could sense that his most relied-upon subordinate, the Dou Zong named Di, had already fallen.

Among his three high-level Dou Huang subordinates, the two Seven-Star Dou Huangs were also dead. The remaining Eight-Star Dou Huang was severely injured and unlikely to last much longer.

And he himself... was in a wretched state.

At that moment, he had completely lost the will to fight.

Wei Yang and the others simply looked at him expressionlessly.

”Cough cough cough... Gahahaha...”

”Let me introduce myself. I am—You Hun Zun Zhe (Soul Phantom Venerable),” the gray-robed youth straightened his body and puffed out his chest, speaking with a trace of pride. ”I once roamed this continent for centuries, unmatched and supreme!”

”Roamed the continent?” Wei Yang chuckled, his eyes filled with scorn.

Just a Dou Zun, and you dare talk like that?

You clearly never met a real powerhouse. On the Dou Qi Continent, Ban Shengs and Dou Shengs are everywhere. Where do you get the nerve to claim you ruled it?

Not to mention, the Eight Ancient Clan are still looming over your head.

Cough.

The gray-robed youth—no, You Hun Zun Zhe—lowered his head and looked at the vicious wound across his chest. He could faintly see his heart inside, which was also split. Shaking his head in regret, he sighed, ”This body... I worked so hard to obtain it, and now it’s been ruined.”

”You’re about to die anyway—what do you need a body for?” Medusa said coolly.

”Cough, you’re right. What use is a body when the life inside is gone?” You Hun Zun Zhe let out a bitter laugh.

”...It’s just that—I’m not willing!”

With a roar full of resentment, You Hun Zun Zhe’s eyes turned gloomy, filled with unwillingness and hatred.

He glared fiercely at Wei Yang. ”For hundreds of years, I dominated the land. The number of people who died by my hands is beyond counting. I survived countless brushes with death—not because I was weak, but because my enemies were too strong!”

”I endured and waited for over a century... finally, I was given a second chance at life. I should’ve risen again to the peak, standing above all. But to fall in some remote corner of the world, at the hands of a brat like you—I can’t accept it!”

”You should’ve been dead long ago,” Wei Yang snorted coldly. He raised his hand—within his palm, a black sun began slowly spinning.

”Wait! No need for you to do anything, brat! I’ll do it myself!” You Hun Zun Zhe suddenly let out an enraged roar.

At the same time, the blue-white flames that had long since faded from his body erupted violently again, growing wildly in the wind.

The pale-blue flames seemed to draw out every last bit of essence from the already ruined body, igniting it into a ferocious blaze.

In just a short span of time, that half-destroyed body began to dry out—rapidly becoming a shriveled husk.

”Ahhh—!”

The withered corpse threw back its head and howled in unbearable pain.

The scene was nothing short of horrifying.

Who would’ve expected that he would resort to such a savage form of self-harm?

Wei Yang and the others instinctively backed off a few steps, frowning at the grotesque display.

Qing Lin even turned her head away, unable to bear the sight.

Sizzle—

The stench of burning flesh quickly spread through the air.

The corpse continued to dry up, eventually turning completely to blackened charcoal. The howls gradually weakened.

A light breeze blew through—ashes flaked off the charred husk and scattered with the wind.

At this point, the blue-white flames also seemed to be losing their fuel, shrinking little by little like a candle about to go out.

”What the hell is he doing?” Wei Yang frowned deeply.

Self-immolation? Suicide?

Wei Yang didn’t believe that crap for a second.

Moreover, he could keenly sense that although the other party had incinerated his physical body, his soul had not completely perished along with it. Instead, it seemed to have attached itself to that blue-white flame, as if trying to fuse with it.

”Mister Wei, what is he doing?” Medusa stepped toward Wei Yang, frowning as she asked.

”We’re not sure yet, but be careful,” Wei Yang warned.

Just as his words fell—

Hmm?

Something unexpected happened.

A faint, illusory figure of a young man shot out from the charred corpse. His body was shrouded in a mysterious black aura, and that was further encased in a cloak of blue-white flames. Without any pause, it rushed straight toward Wei Yang.

Its speed was incomparably fast—almost like a flash of light—and in just an instant, it appeared directly in front of Wei Yang.

None of them, including Wei Yang himself, had time to even react or show shock before the illusory figure wrapped in blue-white flames suddenly shot into Wei Yang’s forehead in a blur, diving straight into his mind.

Everything happened so quickly that there was no time to react at all.

”Mister Wei!” Medusa’s expression drastically changed. She took a quick step forward and arrived in front of Wei Yang.

”Young Master!” Qing Lin’s face also turned pale as she grabbed hold of Wei Yang’s arm.

But at this moment, Wei Yang’s eyes were already tightly shut.

”That remnant soul is trying to seize Mister Wei’s body!” Medusa said with a heavy expression.

”Seize his body?!” Qing Lin’s face instantly turned deathly pale.

If that happened...

She shook her head repeatedly, not even daring to imagine it.

”Is there any way to help Young Master?” Qing Lin tried to maintain her composure, but her face remained bloodless and tense.

”There’s nothing we can do. The enemy has already entered Mister Wei’s Sea of Consciousness. I can’t help him anymore,” Medusa said, shaking her head after a brief scan.

Whoosh—

At that moment, the black Dou Qi wings behind Wei Yang slowly retracted and disappeared. His body began to fall.

”Young Master!” Qing Lin quickly supported his body, preventing him from falling.

Medusa turned and waved her hand at the charred corpse, which was also beginning to fall. A dazzling seven-colored ribbon shot out.

Boom!

The corpse exploded completely, disintegrating into dust and scattering in the air. A simple-looking storage ring floated in the void, then swiftly shot back into Medusa’s hand.

”Don’t worry. That remnant soul is already extremely weak. Even after absorbing all the power from its former body, it still can’t make up for the loss. With Mister Wei’s soul strength, that remnant soul shouldn’t pose any threat to him.”

Medusa held the ring and said softly, ”That soul chose to attempt possession under such conditions because it had no other option—it was cornered and made a desperate move.”

”Exactly. Young Master’s soul is already at the peak of the Mortal realm, just half a step away from the Spirit Realm. He’ll be fine,” Qing Lin nodded firmly.

”Why don’t we bring Mister Wei back to Jia Ma Sacred City first? Perhaps President Fa Ma and the others might have a way to help,” Medusa suggested.

”Alright,” Qing Lin nodded. Holding Wei Yang tightly in her arms, she turned to the unicorn beside her and said, ”Du Jiao, take us back.”

Boom!

Just then, a surge of black flames suddenly erupted from Wei Yang’s body, engulfing him entirely.

These flames were so intense that Qing Lin had no choice but to let go.

Buzz—

Space seemed to freeze, becoming slightly solidified.

It was Medusa and the unicorn who acted almost simultaneously, using their mastery over space to suspend Wei Yang mid-air.

”What’s going on?” Qing Lin asked in panic, clenching her fists tightly.

”I think... Mister Wei is activating the power of his Heavenly Flame to fight back,” Medusa speculated.

”Black Sun Burning Heaven Flame!” Qing Lin’s eyes lit up. ”Young Master once said that the Black Sun Burning Heaven Flame is especially effective against soul forms—far more so than other Heavenly Flames.”

”Oh?” Medusa raised an eyebrow and smiled. ”In that case, Mister Wei really holds the absolute advantage. That remnant soul—forget being severely weakened—probably couldn’t stir up trouble even in its prime.”

”Mhm! Young Master will definitely win.” Qing Lin nodded, her complexion visibly brightening.

Wei Yang’s soul was already powerful, and now with the help of the Black Sun Burning Heaven Flame, which was specifically potent against soul entities—

All of this greatly eased the pressure weighing on Qing Lin’s heart.
