**

After an entire day and night—

The pill was successfully refined.

Because he hadn’t used a Heavenly Flame, and had also deliberately controlled the process a little, the pill’s refinement was not at full fire, causing the medicinal strength to fall short of reaching one hundred percent.

As a result, this Dou Spirit Pill was only of ordinary quality, without the birth of any Pill Lines.

Thus, it merely caused a small-scale fluctuation of Heaven and Earth energy within the hall itself, without forming any embryonic phenomenon or affecting the outside world.

Inside the cauldron, the black flames roared fiercely.

As the energy fluctuations gradually subsided, faint wisps of pill fragrance began to drift back through the void.

A round, plump, blue-green pill spun slowly in the air, radiating powerful waves of energy.

With a light wave of Wei Yang’s hand, the pill shot out of the cauldron with a swoosh and fell steadily into his palm.

Lowering his head to inspect the pill, Wei Yang’s brows furrowed slightly.

Perhaps he had become too accustomed to refining Dou Spirit Pills of High Grade; suddenly holding a normal-grade one made him feel a little... uncomfortable.

He casually retrieved a small jade bottle, placed the pill inside, and then tossed it off the stage without sparing it another glance.

Instead, he lazily withdrew the flames and started tidying up the cauldron.

——

Whoosh!

The small jade bottle shot across the air, as if teleporting, and floated steadily in front of President Fa Ma in the first row.

Shua!

Everyone’s eyes locked onto it, staring unblinkingly, their breathing growing slightly hurried.

Dou Spirit Pill!

A peak Tier 5 pill—its value was self-evident.

Within the Jia Ma Empire, it was practically priceless; even if you had money, it would still be near impossible to buy.

A flash of brilliance appeared in President Fa Ma’s eyes.

He raised his dry palm and, under everyone’s eager gazes, took the small jade bottle into his hand.

Gently removing the cap, a rich medicinal fragrance poured out.

Tipping the bottle slightly, he poured out the still-warm pill, narrowed his eyes, and carefully examined it.

At the same time, over a dozen white-haired heads gathered closely around, forming a tight circle, completely blocking the view of everyone outside.

The onlookers were frustrated but dared not voice their dissatisfaction.

All they could do was stand on tiptoe, stretching their necks to try and catch a glimpse.

The rich and pleasant scent of medicine continued to fill the air within the hall.

”Translucent color, full and smooth surface, excellent quality!”

”Indeed. I once saw a Dou Spirit Pill personally refined by Pill King Gu He, but compared to this one... it seems slightly inferior.”

”Mmm, judging by the quality, if it were refined just a bit better, it could have birthed a Pill Line. It’s definitely a top product among ordinary quality pills!”

”I once saw the president refine a Dou Spirit Pill—cough, no offense intended—but honestly, this one here seems even better in appearance. Its color is more translucent, and the energy it contains feels stronger.”

”Indeed. The Dou Spirit Pill I managed to refine three years ago is no match for this one,” President Fa Ma admitted frankly.

”President, you’ve been holding it long enough! The pill’s going to cool down. Can you at least let me touch it while it’s still warm?”

”Yeah, yeah, same here!”

”Me too!”

...

A group of old men crowded around the pill, endlessly examining and discussing it, one touching it here, another inspecting it there, occasionally murmuring to each other in low voices.

The outer circle of spectators watched with itching hearts, just like cats scratching at them.

Many were dying to kick aside those old fogeys and get their own hands on the pill.

At that moment—

Wei Yang finished tidying up his things and lazily walked down from the stage.

”Master Wei!”

”Master Wei, you’ve worked hard!”

”To witness Master Wei personally refining a pill today was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We have gained so much!”

Everyone rushed forward, faces full of reverence, all respectfully greeting him, their tones brimming with genuine gratitude.

After all, being able to personally watch a suspected six-tier Alchemist spend an entire day and night refining a pill—even if a pig stood there watching, it would still gain some enlightenment.

Some among them even felt that their bottlenecks had loosened slightly.

After going back and properly digesting today’s insights, breaking through their bottlenecks and advancing a step might not be impossible.

To all of this, Wei Yang merely responded with a faint smile and a few nods.

Everyone accepted it readily.

After all, this was an Alchemist so powerful that even President Fa Ma admitted inferiority—what more could they ask for?

”Young Master!”

A crisp call rang out.

The crowd immediately parted instinctively, creating a clear path.

A light green figure quickly ran over, holding a cup of steaming hot tea in her hands, and said sweetly, ”Young Master, have some tea first.”

”Hehe.”

Wei Yang’s heart instantly felt warm and comfortable.

He accepted the tea and took a gentle sip.

Mmm, the temperature was just right, and the fragrance was rich.

Wei Yang nodded approvingly.

Qing Lin, this little girl, was getting better and better at her craft.

Patting Qing Lin’s head affectionately, he led her to a seat nearby, closed his eyes, and began to rest.

After passing through the hands of over a dozen old men—

At last, they were all finally satisfied.

By now, the pill had already cooled.

”Everyone, this is the Dou Spirit Pill!”

Vice President Qie Mi Er finally smiled broadly as he raised the pill, displaying it to the crowd.

Instantly, it caught the attention of everyone present.

Hua la~

The crowd surged forward.

”Bastards, stop pushing!”

”Who stepped on my foot? Can’t you watch where you’re going?!”

”Youngsters, show some respect!”

After a brief chaotic commotion, everyone lifted their heads, their eyes burning with fervent heat, staring fixedly at the beautiful blue-green pill, about the size of a longan, held carefully between Vice President Qie Mi Er’s fingers.

The renowned Dou Spirit Pill—normally extremely rare.

For many of those present, it was their first time seeing one in person.

——

A moment later.

Amid everyone’s somewhat reluctant gazes, the pill was placed back into the small jade bottle.

A group of old men then moved toward Wei Yang, their eyes blazing with intensity.

Wei Yang opened his eyes, raised his head, and smiled.

”Mister Wei!”

The group of old men all bowed slightly in unison, showing their respect.

Even Vice President Qie Mi Er did the same.

Only President Fa Ma was an exception—he merely smiled and nodded.

”Everyone, please don’t!”

Seeing this, Wei Yang was startled.

He hurriedly stood up, stepping aside and waving his hands repeatedly.

”Mister Wei, there’s no need to be so humble. This is merely a gesture of our acknowledgment of your alchemy skills,” President Fa Ma said kindly, smiling warmly at Wei Yang.

”I only possess a little talent, and thus have advanced slightly ahead. I do not dare accept the title of ’Mister.’ If you don’t mind, just call me Wei Yang,” Wei Yang quickly replied.

Being addressed as ”Mister” by a group of white-haired elders, many already with one foot in the grave, was something Wei Yang simply couldn’t accept, and thus he firmly refused.

Seeing this, all the old men stroked their beards and nodded with approval.

Not arrogant despite his talent, modest and courteous—very good.

They liked this young man even more.

After another round of polite exchanges—

”Since you insist, this old man shall be presumptuous and address you as Wei Yang,” President Fa Ma said with a smile.

”That would be much better,” Wei Yang nodded, showing a look of relief.

”Hehe.”

The crowd all chuckled.

Xian’er, holding Qing Lin’s hand, stood quietly to the side, smiling gently, her heart swelling with pride.

As for Ya Fei, her eyes were practically shining.

She stared at Wei Yang with a gaze so bright and brimming with admiration that it seemed water could drip from her eyes.

——

President Fa Ma’s smile gradually faded.

With a flip of his hand, he produced a token, and looking at Wei Yang, spoke slowly and solemnly:

”Wei Yang, your alchemy skills have earned the unanimous recognition of all of us here. Naturally, you now fully qualify to become an Elder of our Association.”

”Of course, with your abilities, merely becoming a regular Elder would be far beneath you. Thus, this token is a little special—it signifies an Honorary Elder.”

”You would simply hold a nominal title within our Association, enjoying the same treatment as Elders, but without any obligation to handle the Association’s mundane affairs. Only if the Association ever faces a major crisis would we hope for you to consider stepping in.”

”Your status would be second only to me and the Vice President. What do you think?”

”Of course, if you’re unwilling, you are free to decline.”

”Wei Yang, I, Fa Ma, President of the Alchemist Association of the Jia Ma Empire, formally invite you to become an Honorary Elder of our Association. Will you accept?”

President Fa Ma offered the token forward, his tone solemn and respectful.

All eyes turned to Wei Yang.

Wei Yang pondered.

Honorary Elder, huh?

No regular duties, full Elder treatment, and the Association wouldn’t restrict him.

His only responsibility would be to consider stepping in during major crises.

It was essentially a win-win partnership, mutually beneficial.

Not a bad arrangement at all.

He looked at the token, faintly glowing with a purple-gold sheen, and smiled.

Reaching out with both hands, he accepted it, saying:

”I accept!”

”Haha, wonderful!”

Cheers erupted from the crowd.

Everyone felt great joy and pride.

After all, having Wei Yang as part of the Association’s roster greatly boosted their prestige and foundation.

Even when speaking outside in the future, they would now carry themselves with extra confidence.
