Chapter 427: Chapter 422: You Lose If You’re Serious

”Brother Lin, let’s just go, why do I feel like their gazes toward us are a bit strange?”

At that moment, Li Lin grabbed Lin Zifeng, who was ready to continue browsing, and whispered into his ear. Her implication was clear.

But Zifeng knew her embarrassment.

”It’s fine, just ignore them,” Zifeng smiled reassuringly.

In this day and age, there are too many creatures that look down on others. Even if you had an AK47 and sprayed wildly, you probably couldn’t take them all out.

You could kill a mosquito with a slap, but you definitely couldn’t swat a whole bunch of beasts.

”But... but their looks are so strange, why do I feel like there’s a hint of scorn?” Li Lin felt increasingly unnatural about her pretty face. Her family wasn’t very well-off, just average.

She had seen places like this large mall before.

However, she would only stay for a few minutes at most each time ’cause she knew her family’s situation and couldn’t face going inside.

Even if she went in, so what?

”Heh, girl, there are some things you have to let go of. If you take it seriously, you lose—”

If you take it seriously, you lose—

This phrase, like a motto, suddenly struck Li Lin’s heart.

”Come on, I’ll take you to see that popular bag of the year.” Saying this, Lin Zifeng took her hand and walked toward the display of bags placed on the counter nearby before Li Lin could react.

”May I help you?”

Seeing two people dressed not too dazzlingly, the saleswoman who had been painting her nails lifted her head, asking somewhat lazily.

Had it been ordinary customers, she would have stood up immediately, respectfully asking, ”May I help you, sir, madame, how can I assist you?”

”No... no need, just looking around, just looking.” Seeing the sales woman’s reluctance,

the shy Li Lin quickly gestured with her hand, indicating she needed nothing.

”Excuse me, do you have the latest model of this LV bag?” Meanwhile, Lin Zifeng, unfazed, pointed at the pink, checkered bag on the crystal shelf, and asked.

”There is, but I don’t want the bother.” The saleswoman clearly didn’t care much for people like Lin Zifeng, who seemed of low status and empty-pocketed losers.

However, what surprised the saleswoman a little was that Zifeng, seeming so well-mannered and young, knew about the new model of this bag.

With his attire, he didn’t look like the scion of a wealthy family.

And judging by his girlfriend, she didn’t seem like a rich kid pretending to be a nobody, playing games of posturing and face-slapping.

”Why not?”

”There are so many people looking at bags every day, if I have to introduce them to everyone, I would be dead tired by day’s end. People look but don’t necessarily buy,” the saleswoman said offhandedly.

”If you don’t take it out, how will you know whether we, the customers, are satisfied or not?”

”You think wealthy people care about satisfaction? It’s only those who have no money who worry about what’s suitable or not.”

”Do you know that your service attitude is really poor? I am very disappointed in you. I am also ashamed for your store,” Lin Zifeng narrowed his eyes, showing some anger.

If it had been another day, he might not have cared, but now he wanted to buy this bag for Li Lin.

No matter the cost, it was a gesture of affection.

”Everything here is quite expensive, with each product worth tens of thousands. What if you damage them by looking? Can you afford to compensate?” the female clerk also became somewhat annoyed.

She hadn’t expected the unsophisticated guy in front of her to dare to scold her to her face, which made the proud clerk feel very displeased.

”Big Brother Lin, I think we should just let it go. Let’s not look anymore, let’s leave,” Li Lin said.

Li Lin hugged Lin Zifeng’s arm tightly, fearing that the explosive-tempered Lin Zifeng of the past would lose control.

But she had forgotten, the current Lin Zifeng was no longer the impetuous youth he once was, he’d become a completely different person.

Because Lin Zifeng was no longer a man who only relied on his fists to do the talking.

Just then, a man in a suit inside the LV store noticed the situation while inspecting the store.

The sight of his clerk with an obstinate neck, arguing as though she had right on her side, instantly made the rage in the suit’s chest surge up.

Isn’t the purpose of running a store to do business? With clerks being so snobbish, who else would dare to come to your store?

”What’s the situation?” The man in the suit held a black, heavy walkie-talkie.

He put his two large hands behind his back and approached to enquire about the situation.

However, the man in the suit quickly noticed the problem.

As someone in marketing, with a remarkably keen eye, he immediately spotted the black, quaint bracelet on Lin Zifeng’s wrist.

Instantly, the previously arrogant man was invigorated, his eyes glaring as he inwardly clicked his tongue in anticipation.

He quickly bent forward and eagerly introduced to Lin Zifeng, ”Sir, may I ask how I can assist you?”

”Manager, you?!” the female clerk said, staring with incredulous cosmetic lenses.

”What are you staring at? Aren’t you going to recommend some of the most popular bags of this season to this gentleman and lady?” The man in the suit glared back fiercely at the female clerk.

Due to a counter blocking her view, the female clerk couldn’t see the bracelet on Lin Zifeng’s wrist, and even if she had seen it, it’s likely she wouldn’t recognize its value.

”Oh.” The female clerk nodded her head and reluctantly picked up one of this year’s fashionable bags, ready to hand it to Li Lin.

Seeing the man in the suit’s innocuous smile, Lin Zifeng didn’t say much.

”Big Brother Lin, let’s still leave. I don’t like this bag. I think we should go look somewhere else,” Li Lin said, not taking the bag offered by the female clerk but pulling Lin Zifeng’s arm, urging him to leave quickly.

”Miss, this is one of the trendiest bags this year. If you like, I can offer you a 20% discount. We can also process a complimentary lifelong membership card for both of you, allowing you to visit our store any time, with tea and sweets provided at no charge,” the man in the suit hurriedly offered them all the services the store had.

But unfortunately, Li Lin had no intention to stay.

Seeing that the young girl had no desire to stay, Lin Zifeng was even less likely to linger.

”Really not going to try it?” Lin Zifeng smiled again.

He didn’t want to leave Li Lin with too many regrets.

”No need.” Li Lin shook her head as if it were a wave drum.

”Alright then.” Since the young girl didn’t want it, Lin Zifeng didn’t insist.

He held her small hand and glanced around for the exit.

Then, he lifted his foot, ready to head outside.
