After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 912: Chapter 916: Why Are You Avoiding Me?

”It’s a gentleman who says he’s an old friend of yours, and he insisted on seeing you today.” The receptionist’s tone was somewhat ambiguous. ”I told him you might not come to the company until very late, but he said he would wait no matter how late, so I had to let him wait in the reception room.”

Luo Xiaoqian was secretly a little surprised. It couldn’t be Leng Zimo; who could it be?!

”Okay, I understand.”

Nodding lightly at the receptionist, Luo Xiaoqian stepped towards the reception room and pushed open the door.

Inside the reception room, a man was lazily sitting on the sofa directly facing the door. There was a cup of coffee in front of him, very full, and it had long since cooled. It was not freshly added but had not been touched at all.

Upon hearing the door open, the man slowly lifted his face.

A light gray suit, a languid posture, long hair falling messily to shoulder length, and between the messy hair, a face as exquisite and alluring as jade.

Seeing the man who lifted his face from the sofa and looked at her, Luo Xiaoqian was momentarily stunned, then proceeded to walk inside.

”Jiao Yang, long time no see.”

Her tone was very relaxed, as if they had just had dinner and chatted a few days ago.

Jiao Yang was taken aback, not expecting her to be so calm and composed. Then he chuckled and stood up from the sofa.

”Long time no see.”

”Xiao Yue, bring us two cups of hot coffee.” Luo Xiaoqian instructed toward the door before stepping inside, nodding towards the sofa, ”Have a seat.”

Then she sat down on a small sofa next to him, not too close or too far, neither intimate nor distant.

For him to be sitting on this sofa, it was obvious he had already investigated her thoroughly and knew there was no avoiding him, so she could only not avoid it.

Jiao Yang sat back down, his gaze already sweeping her from head to toe and then back up again.

She still looked the same, without a single trace of the five years passing on her face, yet she seemed to have changed a lot. The purity and brightness from five years ago now came with more competence and composure, a well-fitted spring outfit, hair tied up, an elegant posture as she sat on the sofa... all quite different from five years ago.

The little girl who was as pure as a crystal in his memory had now become a real woman.

Elegant and composed, like a crystal that’s been sculpted, now carrying a dazzling halo, no longer transparent like five years ago, but reflecting light, making it hard for people to see through.

”Why were you avoiding me?” Jiao Yang asked.

”Was I?” Luo Xiaoqian smiled, her smile still as bright, but those eyes were no longer easily read at a glance.

He shrugged, without saying a word.

The assistant Xiao Yue opened the door and came in, placing two cups of hot coffee in front of them, then turned and left the reception room.

Jiao Yang glanced at his watch, ”Shall we have dinner together?”

Luo Xiaoqian didn’t refuse, ”My treat.”

Jiao Yang smiled, ”Alright.”

The two walked out of the reception room one after the other, leaving the company. The company employees looked at the man with the alluring smile, each one of them with their gossip souls ready to stir.

Just as the two left, several young girls started to discuss.

”Our boss is really lucky, having such a handsome man pursue her even with a child.”

”How do you know he’s pursuing the boss?!”

”He’s been waiting since the company opened in the morning till now, almost three hours, without drinking a sip of coffee. If he’s not here to pursue Miss Sissi, then what’s he here for?”
