Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 147: 147 Fear (1)_1

Huo Jinnan leaned back against the black sofa, smoking without a word, his gaze piercing to the marrow.

Huo Bei stood quietly beside him.

After a while, Huo Jinnan finally looked up at Huo Bei, ”Has the video not been released yet?”

Huo Bei paused, then nodded, ”Not yet. It was originally scheduled to be released today, but the old master got wind of it beforehand and suppressed it. It probably won’t make the news.”

Huo Jinnan lit a cigarette, ”Find a Weibo account and post it.”

Huo Bei quickly understood Huo Jinnan’s intent, ”I’ll take care of it right away.”

An hour later, a video was released under the Weibo accounts of several big names in the film and television industry.

In less than half an hour, the view and share counts were astounding!

Soon, people found out that the owner of the car was Gu Jizhou, the other main character from the previous collision with the white Porsche. The video from a few days ago had been mysteriously swallowed up, and it might involve some behind-the-scenes manipulation, sparking public speculation!

The old master saw the news and turned blue with anger, ”Why can’t there be one day of peace?”

Huo Jinyun sat beside him, ”Grandfather...”

”Enough, shut up, don’t speak on his behalf!” The old master closed his eyes.

Huo Jinyun sat on the side, not daring to make another sound.

The old master called Gu Jizhou, ”Get back here right now!”

As soon as Gu Jizhou walked in, the old master picked up a cane and started beating him!

He didn’t dodge, and as the cane struck a spot where the company commander had bitten him a few days earlier, the yet-unhealed wound quickly started bleeding through his sleeve.

The old master glanced at it, couldn’t bear to hit him again, and threw down the cane, ”What did you tell me that day?”

Gu Jizhou bowed his head, his attitude compliant.

”In the future, don’t get involved with the Qin Family anymore, do you understand?” The old master closed his eyes; he obviously had suppressed the matter, but someone had deliberately stirred up trouble.

”I understand, Great-Granduncle,” Gu Jizhou replied with his head still lowered, not expecting that things would turn out this way. The slight recovery of his public image from the recent refund and apology had now completely collapsed.

The old master sighed with relief and called Huo Jinnan, ”Anan, come back home for a bit. There’s something I want to discuss with you.”

Half an hour later, Huo Jinnan returned to the Huo Mansion and upon entering, he saw Gu Jizhou kneeling there.

The old master looked up at Huo Jinnan; the thing he feared most was Anan’s involvement, but nothing could be traced back to him.

”Anan, this young man is about to drive me to my grave. I don’t have the strength to deal with him, you give him a good thrashing for me,” the old master said.

Huo Jinnan didn’t take the cane offered by the old master, instead, he looked down at Gu Jizhou.

Gu Jizhou, with his head bowed, watched the black shadow cast over him, feeling a sense of breathlessness. Could it be Huo Jinnan?

He stared motionless at the shadow on the floor.

Huo Jinnan shifted his gaze away, looking toward the old master, ”Grandfather, Jizhou is not young anymore; it’s not appropriate to hit him, is it?”

The old master took a deep breath, said nothing, stood up with both hands on the cane, walked over to Gu Jizhou, and gave him a hard whack, ”Useless! Why can’t you learn from your uncle? Have a look at your uncle; has he caused me any trouble over these years?”

Gu Jizhou let out a muffled grunt, ”Great-Granduncle’s lesson is well taken.”

Seeing his good attitude, the old master didn’t strike again. He turned to Huo Jinnan, speaking with heartfelt earnestness, ”Anan, I’ve had a persistent twitch in my right eyelid these days and keep feeling like something bad is going to happen, as if someone is out to get the Huo Family.”

Huo Jinnan spoke indifferently, ”In Hongcheng, who could possibly touch the Huo Family?”
