Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 103: 103 Dragon Boat Festival (1)_1

Gu Jizhou thought of Huo Jinnan’s words, perhaps it was the best method.

After a moment of silence, he looked at the old man, ”I plan to halt all construction, publicly apologize, and refund all the money that’s due.”

The old man felt somewhat relieved upon hearing this and nodded in approval, ”You’re showing some improvement at least.”

Huo Jinyun, listening by the side, couldn’t help but speak up, ”Are you really going to just abandon a project worth tens of billions...”

The old man looked towards Huo Jinyun and cut her off, ”When you make mistakes, there are consequences to pay. That’s the end of this matter!”

Huo Jinyun dared not speak again, looking towards Gu Jizhou.

Gu Jizhou had just lit a cigarette, which Huo Jinyun saw and snatched away discontentedly, ”You’re injured like this, and you’re still smoking!”

Gu Jizhou glanced at Huo Jinyun impatiently and stood up to walk towards the old man, ”Great-Grandfather, since uncle has had affairs to attend to outside, let me go and bring Xiaowei over.”

To the old man’s surprise, Gu Jizhou showed this consideration. While pleased, he paused and frowned, ”Alright, but with your arm injured like that, how are you supposed to drive?”

He looked at Huo Jinyun, ”You go, pick up Xiaowei as soon as possible. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen that little rascal, and I’m getting anxious.”

Huo Jinyun gave an awkward smile, ”Grandfather, you know what Anan is like. How could I just walk into his house as I please?”

The old man detected the implication, and with his mood initially sour, it worsened. He turned to Uncle Guan, ”You go and pick him up.”

Uncle Guan looked at the old man, ”The young master is probably at school at this hour. How about we wait until the afternoon?”

The old man gave an ”Oh” and nodded, then called Huo Jinnan, ”Anan, when does Xiaowei get out of school?”

——”I’m not sure, you should call Uncle Lu.”

The old man spoke with gravity, ”Xiaowei is not young anymore; it’s time he had a mother.”

Huo Jinnan parked the car at the Porsche Maintenance Center and replied with a chill in his voice, ”I’ll keep it in mind.”

Remembering the significance of the day, and Anan’s poor mood, the old man didn’t take issue with his tone, ”Your dad and mom will be back soon. You haven’t seen them in a long time, what time are you coming back?”

No sooner had he finished speaking than the call was disconnected.

The old man sighed, glanced at Gu Jizhou, and stood up to go straight back to his own bedroom.

Everyone could see the old man was in a very bad mood.

In the entire living room, besides the sound of the old man’s cane, there was a heavy silence, and the atmosphere suddenly turned awkward.

Gu Jizhou bowed his head.

Huo Jinyun remained silent, sitting quietly, glanced in the direction of the old man, then looked away.

——Yunqi Academy——

The next morning, Uncle Lu, following the master’s instructions, brought the young master to the old residence early on.

The little guy pursed his lips as he walked in, saw Gu Yunqing, and showed displeasure by pouting before sitting down far from her, sticking close to Zhong Qin, ”Granny, I haven’t seen you in such a long time; I’ve missed you a lot.”

Zhong Qin fondly looked at the little guy, ”Granny has missed you too.”

The little one hugged Zhong Qin’s neck, kissed her, and looked towards the great-grandfather, politely saying, ”Hello, Great-Grandfather.”

His tone was clearly much more distant, and the old man felt a sourness sitting there.

The little guy turned to Huo Qichang, ”Hello, Grandfather.”

Huo Qichang smiled at the little guy, about to reach out to pat his head, but the child had already turned to converse with Zhong Qin, ”Granny, it’s been such a long time, and you look thinner. Haven’t you been eating well?”
